  • Infractions can't be expunged.. urgh!!!?

I found out that infractions can't be expunged. Odd because they are the types of crimes that should be able to be expunged. I was told by my attorney back when I pleaded guilty that they were like speeding tickets and are not even considered crimes.. But they are! Is there any way to challenge this law or better yet clear my record of 2 infractions? Or am I stuck having these infractions on my record? I am going to be a nurse and although I'm pretty sure the board of nursing will still license me with a petty theft and disturbing the peace charge from 7 years ago, I would rather have said criminal history off of my record.

  • Who is responsible. Estoy confundido?

In June and July 2009 I purchased 2 HP PC computers that sadly came with Windows Vista Home Premium. I am just now finding out that said computers were eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. Obviously I would have wanted Windows 7 had I known about the free upgrade, but now HP is telling me it's too late to upgrade for free. Who's fault is it for not making me aware of the free upgrade to Windows 7? HP says it's my fault for not watching the advertisements on TV and I say it's HP's fault for not sending me an e-mail or at least something to let me know about the valuable upgrade. I don't even watch TV (I am a Med student and don't have time). What should I do? Do I have any legal ground to stand on?

  • Using a linear regrsssion line STATS?

This is the info provided in the book:

Data were gathered to estimate the regression line for a model where a gymnast's score (y) depends on the gymnast's physical condition as measured by his or her weight (x). The estimated regression line is given by y hat = 1,190 -1.9x. Complete the following sentence. ........

Every additional pound that a gymnast weighs drops drops the predicted score by about _____ points on average.

What goes in the blank? and how did you come about finding the answer.

    THANKS!~

  • Stats question regarding probablility of mean?

Information: A Farmer grows corn that is evenly distributed between 8 and 16". The Mean is 12" and the standard deviation is 2.3".

Question: Farmer Bob selects a random sample of 50 corn husks. What is the probability that the mean length of these 50 husks are larger than 13 inches.

Can someone tell me how I can go abouts finding the answer to this? The easiest most elementary way would be very helpful

    Thanks!

  • How can I do this stats question?

    This is the information given.

The sticker on the car says it will get 28 MPG. Standard deviation is 2 MPG. You fill up the tank 4 times.

Question: Use the 68-95-99.7 rule for normal distribution to complete the following.

    A. There is a 68% probability that the sample mean MPG is between _ and _.

    B. There is a 95% probability that the sample mean MPG is between _ and _.

Could you please show me how I can go about doing this? The easiest and most common way? Thanks for any help on this one~~~!

  • How can I find the confidence interval for this question?

Information: 59% say that president Clinton should resign if he lied. This result was based on a poll of 1537 adults surveyed and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.

Question: Using the standard margin of error of plus or minus 3%, give the corresponding confidence interval estimate for the proportion of adults who feel Clinton lied.

I know how to get a confidence interval using TI-83, but not with a margin of error.

If there is a way to do this on TI-83, that would be great. Thanks.

  • Margin of error in a confidence interval?

48% of college students work to pay tuition. The national Center had sampled 450 college students.

What is the margin of error in the confidence interval?

I found the confidence interval by using my TI-83 1-PropInt, which is (.44126,.51874). Is there an easy way of finding the margin of error as well for this question?

    Thanks!

  • How would I go about this statistic question?

Question: Suppose it is known that 60% of adults in Michigan have a cell phone. You plan to take a simple random sample of 40 adults from Michigan.

    a. What is the probability that 75% or more of the adults in your sample will have a cell phone?

    b. Would it be unusual to find fewer than 25% of the adults in your sample who have a cell phone?

  • Binomial distribution (Stats)?

I am totally confused with this one. In my book is says " Suppose that the random variable X has a binomial distribution with n=10 and p=0.4. . Find each of the following quantities.

    A. P(X=2)

    B. P(X>8)

    C. P(X is less or greater than 7)

    D. P(X=1.5)

    E. E(X)=m

Is there an easy way I can learn how to compute this? Thanks.

If there is, please explain how I can enter this into a TI-83. Thanks.

  • Why are there the following alkyl groups?

My book shows a molecule 1-methylcyclohexene and has an arrow at C1 showing that there are 2 alkyl groups and at C2 showing there is 1 alkyl group. Shouldn't there just be 1 alkyl group at C1 where the C bonds to CH3 and no other alkyl groups? I am learning Markovnikov's rule and don't understand how they determined those aforementioned alkyl groups. Thanks.

  • What did I use for this experiment.?

I can't think of a particular chemical. I was in Organic Chem lab isolating Aspirin. To check to see if the Aspirin was free of the binders I mixed a red chemical with my Aspirin to make sure all the binders where gone. It turned yellow indicating that the binders were absent and would have turned blue had there been binders. Anyone know what this might have been. Thanks!

  • How can I set up this problem ?

The density of liquid thionyl chloride is 1.638 g per ml. Since Thionyl chloride has a suffocating odor and is very dangerous ro work with, it is easier to use a graduated cylinder to measure its volume rather than weigh it. Suppose you need 480 mg of thionyl chloride. How many milliliters should be measured out?
