  • I want to have a Halloween party for my 8 yr old daughter. I am second guessing having it on Oct 31st. Thoughts?

I thought food around 5 maybe some games or dancing for an hour or so then trick or treating. Parents pick up kids after. My husband said on Halloween is a bad idea. Really could use some feedback.

  • What to do about private daycare issue?

My 2 kids are in private daycare. Son 10, daughter 4. 4 days a week 2 full days, 2 before after care for 4 yr old. B&A care only for 10 yr old. They started june 2011 full days til school. Things were fine until few weeks ago. My daughter started breaking toys that belonged to sitters daughter. My sitter is certified child worker and counsellor. I have followed her advice and paid for damage. Yesterday she broke a very expensive item. Yes its wrong she did it but my first question was why is a child proven untrustworthy lately alone in room with expensive crystal rock? This is sitters first daycare. I take some responsibility and have disciplined 4 yr old but am I wrong thinking her home is not properly set up as daycare? Setting 4 yr old up to fail? I have put my name on list for other daycare but I have been on the list since June 2011. Only daycare in town that offers hours I require for work. Advice?

  • How to copy my video from my MySpace page.?

I have a video of my nephew singing and it shows my Grandmother. She passed away a couple of years ago and I would like to give my sister a copy of the video. I no longer have the memory card it was saved on. I also don't use MySpace anymore so I am afraid it will eventually be deleted. It is not great quality but I will take anything since MySpace is the only place I can find it. Can anyone help. Some of the free converters online look fishy and I don't want a virus. Suggestions?

  • How can I deduct daycare charges when the daycare is closed?

The daycare closed in June 2010 and I paid them a large amount of $. I want to deduct this and they are no where to be found and they didn't send me any statement. I have my bank tracking electronic payments to her account # I did so I can at least try to claim what they find. Can I just list what I paid and the CRA will just go after her? I found her ex on facebook but he ignored my messages. I can't find her so I am guessing she doesn't want to be found. Her Dad is a lawyer so shes probably hiding behind him. What else can I do besides going to Oshawa and track down relatives of hers?

I was on EI so I need this deduction or I am going to pay Harper through the nose.

  • Why don't companies send rejection letters anymore?

I have applied to several jobs and not one has sent a rejection letter. I remember in a job skills seminar I went to they said even a rejection letter teaches you what to say and not to say in a resume. It seems the courtesy of saying no thanks is gone. I am with a temp agency and one place liked my resume and wanted to interview me but they were too far away so I know my resume is fine. The agency tested my computer skills and they were high. I also noticed only 1-3 years experience for job applicants is needed. One friend said they throw away higher than that because job skills are too outdated. Even when it comes to email the simple letter structure is no longer used. I have wanted to send resumes to people with a note of disgust at the lack of courtesy. What the heck is going on? Are people that out of touch with people? I'll have my iPod friend your iPod.
