Is this normal??

I'm copying his letter. He hand wrote it, but his handwritings pretty bad so I'm typing it for you:

I know this is weird but will you go out with you? First off, this isn't a joke. I've liked you for a year or more. I lost count. Your so pretty, gorgeous even. I love your humor and I love you. In both the sisterly way and the dating way. We've been on dates before, so it won't be weird or anything. I promise. The only difference is that our past dates were parental sponsored and organized. I really need an answer. I don't want to be embarrassed anymore.

Btw were 9th graders....

Okay so my friend has a problem but nobody is trying to help her. First off she has like 5 journals filled up with crap about herself talking about how she's fat, ugly, etc... She does go to a counselor but we go to public school and so the counselor basically sucks. Her parents: her moms dead and her dad doesn't care about her much. I feel really bad but she just keeps hating herself and isn't getting any better. Last week she started just writing everything down on her arm about how she just wants to die. Nobody's helping her? She's depressed. What should I do?
