i love answering questions and helping people when i can.

  • Is your dog your family?

I have a five year old Boston Terrier, Coach. He is as beloved to me as any animal could possibly be. I love him like he was my own child. I know one day he will grow old and die, hopefully many years from now. My question is this; knowing he will no longer be with me is it wrong for me to want to use him as a sire for the sole purpose of having a son of his be my companion after he is gone? I know there are deserving dogs in shelters, but they are not Coach, and as much as I like dogs, and I have owned several in my lifetime, none has owned my heart so completely as Coach does. He would sire only one litter and his son would be the stud fee, I would then get him altered, If they did vasectomies on dogs I would prefer that to neutering him. Thanks for your opinions, please temper your passions about this, it's about love as much as it's about dogs. Thanks.

  • Steroids in baseball, are there any sites the publish test results?

Looking for a site that shows how many times a baseball player has been tested for steroids and what the results are, does such a site exist?

    1 AnswerBaseball1 decade ago
  • Do you believe the majority of the MLB stars are free of steroids?

Or do you think they haven't figured out how to test for what they are taking? It's hard not to be cynical after what has taken place over the last couple decades. Just give me your thoughts.

  • Wild Card fever, can the leaders be caught?

Wow September is here, and it's getting down to the wire. If your team even has a prayer at making the post season, you gotta be looking at 70-75 wins or more. The Brewers are surging and the Cards are fading, the Phillies now hold the number 2 spot in the wild card hunt. who will make it? I'm a Cardinal fan, and every loss seems more critical than the last, bad time to go on a losing streak! The Cubs are looking vulnerable for the 1st time in weeks, but only the Brew crew seem to be capitalizing, is it a done deal that both the Brewers and Cubs are in, and the Phil's need the Met's to fall apart again? Will they?

In the AL, the central is knotted up, and the Red Sox are holding everyone at bay, so far. Can the AL central #2 team find a way to get into the post season? What about the Yankee's? Do we color them done?

  • So it's Obama/Biden instead of OBama/Bayh? What makes this the better team?

Although there isn't any questioning Sen. Joe Biden's credentials as a Dem. party leader, is he really the better choice for VP over Sen. Evan Bayh? I really expected Bayh to be the VP running mate, it made sense to me given that Indiana is a swing state that Obama would have won with Bayh on the ticket. So what are your thoughts on the Democratic ticket now? Is it more electable with Biden?

  • Baseball Fans, is your team still in it?

Unless you are an LA Angels fan, you can't feel completely comfortable with your team's post season certainty. My condolences to any team with a record below .500 at this point in the season, your season is over. That leaves 6 teams in the AL, minus LAA who I'm giving a lock to at this point, and 9 teams in the NL, to battle it out for coveted playoff position.

So who is your team and how do you like your chances? Some of you will need miracles, so tell me how you will pull it off. If your team is out of it, tell me who you're rooting for or against, and tell me who your picks are for both leagues. Cub's and Ray's fans, your guys are looking good. Yank's, Jay's, and Astro's fans, I think you're wishing you were in another Division right now, how will you're miracles happen? Everyone else tell me what your team will do.

  • Yahoo Answers Addiction? Is it real? Do you have it? And what can/should you do about it if you do?

I was sitting here at my computer, my work here on the farm was caught up, and I don't have to go to work at my job for another hour or so. So I got to looking at the Yahoo Answers leaderboard. OMG! I thought I had a minor addiction to Y!A, but some of the weekly points were crazy, 9000 pts last week, 500,000 total points. I am averaging around 600 pts a week lately, and am clipping best answers about one in every 5, I have went from level 2 to 1/2 way to level 5 in a little over a month, and I still felt guilty for not doing much beyond the minimum away from the computer. So how much is too much? Any thoughts and answers to these questions? Peace B-Rabbit.

  • Thinking about home schooling my son?

My son is going to have to repeat the 8th grade. He scored in the high 90th percentile in science on standardized tests, is an excellent speller, and maybe a little below average in Math(50-60 percentile on standardized tests). He passed the state constitution test and flag test required for social studies, and was getting an A in Keyboarding before he was suspended near the end of the year. He was failing math and science, is why they say he must repeat 8th grade. He is extremely intelligent, but extremely un-motivated and sometimes a discipline problem for the public school system. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to home school him, and if so, what are the requirements for him to have this education recognized by the high school. I really think public school is good, but my son is not preforming up to his potential at all and cites not liking his teachers, or doing homework as why he doesn't do better in school.

  • To go or not to go (to a 20yr HS reunion)?

Okay, the scenario is my 20 yr HS reunion is coming up in a couple of days. I have yet to attend any of my previous class reunions. Mainly because I didn't like most of my former classmates, but also because I don't enjoy get togethers for the sake of get togethers. I have been successful in life, in that my career is going well, as is my marriage, so I don't feel any shame if I were to go, but I truly think I would have a horrible time. My wife doesn't care one way or the other, so it isn't the episode of Everyone Loves Raymond, but it is similar, in that I wasn't one of the cool kids, if you are familiar with that episode. I don't have many fond memories of high school, at least not that involve my classmates, my friends were either a grade ahead or below me. The problem is a former classmate is begging me to go, she was a shy introverted kinda plain girl in high school, but has blossomed into a lovely woman, she crushed on me in HS, and I think she still does. Wife doesnt like her

  • I Kissed a girl and I liked it, repercussions from this song?

I keep hearing a woman this song, "I kissed a girl and I liked it", not even sure that's the title, or who sings it..don't really care to know. Anyway it got me to thinking of just how many girls believed the message, and tried it? What the Lesbian community's opinion of it was, and why? And how long do you suppose the radio stations will keep playing this song to death?

I personally find the lyrics to be extremely shallow, atleast the ones I could handle actually listening to, comments?

  • Is it time to give the NL Central the credit it's due?

In years past the National League Central Division has been called soft or weak, but now it boasts the best three records in the NL, and even the lower tier teams can say they are near or above .500 against both other divisions. Are the skeptics convinced this division is no push over, or do we have to wait for them to win the pennant again?

  • My XBox 360 confusion. Which one should we buy?

Right now we are considering buying an xbox 360 for our son, but we are not sure just how much of a system he really needs. It will be mostly an offline system until we learn more about the online gaming site requirements and fees, and any potential threats they might pose to our network. He will not have an hdtv or monitor to use so I'm not sure he needs an upgraded cable package, also how much better is the elite's 120gb hard drive than the 20gb premium as far as basic use is concerned, I am sure that its faster for online connections and lag reduction but for simple game play how does the bigger hard drive help? We thought the $370 premium package with two controllers and two games seemed like a great buy but are worried about how much use he would get out of it should we allow him to go online with it the majority of the time. We are hoping to minimize expense on this, but don't want ot spend a fortune on upgrades later. Thanks for any help.
