  • Chihuahua uncontrollably shaking? Please help!?

My 1 y.o. female chihuahua has been shaking uncontrollably for about 3 or 4 days now. My husband and I aren't sure what's wrong. I have googled the subject but it seems like I can't find anything that fits our exact situation. She hasn't been eating very much(we have to hand feed her) and she has been having what seem like asthma attacks where she will wheeze when she gets excited and can't get her breath back. It's very much like when a cat coughs up a hair ball. I pick her up and pet her and cuddle her and eventually it will stop. She is my baby and I just feel absolutely helpless. She is very timid around my husband and I have noticed her shaking is the worst around him, but he's gone all day at work and she is still shaking. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? We don't have the money for her to go to a vet at the moment but I was wondering if anyone could help me out and give me an idea of what we may be dealing with. Thanks so so much!

  • college after baby? need help please!?

I am 19 and am currently pregnant with my first child. I am due in february and this will be my second year not pursuing college. I am due in february and my husband is active duty army so I have decided to wait until the 2010-2011 school year to apply anywhere. My problem is that I am not sure how to get back into school mode.

I made A's and B's in school and graduated in the top 15% of my class. I have a very good ACT score and was accepted to 7 colleges and universities when I graduated h.s. in 2008. The last time I took the ACT was in 2007 and I got such a good score I did not think I would ever need to take it again, but now that I have been away from school and studying for so long, I feel lost. So many things that came naturally then (speaking fluent spanish, mathematics and english basics, chemistry and labs) seems very very far away and hazy.

I was to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder for the 2008-2009 school year, but I joined the army instead for some experience and discipline. Now I have been medically discharged, and although I was given a deferral for this coming school year, I can not attend because I now live with my husband in texas. And now that we are expecting, it seems like my dreams of pursuing an actual career are getting farther and farther away.

I am very very excited about having my first child and we were trying for 9 months so it is a true gift we finally have conceived. My husband has already graduated from ASU and he wants me to be able to pursue a career just as he did, but he also doesn't care if I work or not since we are financially blessed and surrounded by very supporting and giving families in the case that we find ourselves in a financially tight situation. So it is not an absolute necessity that I have a career, it's something I want and need to do for myself. I did so well in academics and extra-curriculars during school and I would hate to throw it all away.

Does anyone have any advice or experience in the area of "school after baby" or other responsibilities? Do you recommend a community college? or am i still able to apply to larger universities? Will large schools understand that I have a family and can not live in a dorm room even though I will be considered a freshman? I am just very nervous about being a new mother and trying to pursue a career. thanks for all advice and help! =D

  • Fort Hood, deployment?

hey! so my husband's new assignment just showed up on the ASK on AKO but he doesn't have his actual orders yet so we don't know what unit he is assigned to... we are going to be stationed at fort hood, tx and i know they are big on deployment. will he be deployed no matter what? some people have told me it depends on his mos, which is biomedical equipment technician... i know there is a community hospital on base so is it possible he will work there rather than being deployed? any advice is welcome. im just a nervous army wife wanting some answers lol. i know he wouldnt mind deploying but of course im selfish and want him to be with me when the baby arrives...

also since we are moving there... we plan on living off base but does anyone have any apartments or housing areas they thought were above average and safe? safety is a really big thing for me, especially if he is deployed... ive heard copperas cove and killeen are both pretty nice... thanks!!
