EmoDio is a joke of a media player. I'm currently using Media Monkey (free version) to handle podcasts, but it's messed up podcast art and it dumps the podcasts in the music folder. Songbird is due to have podcast capabilities with its newest release in Sept or Oct. But I don't want to wait any longer. Can anyone suggest a good media player that will handle podcasts? Anything open source? Or free?

I got an Amazon.com gift card the other day and I'm thinking of purchasing a camera soon. Here's what I'd like in a camera:

ability to take adequate movies

use of standard media cards and jacks -- no Sony Memorysticks.

I gave my wife a Nikon Coolpix camera 2 yrs ago and it's an excellent camera for it's cost. I'd buy one again but I'd like something with better zooming abilities.

My 11 yr old boy is in the 6th grade. He's been sick this week and is falling behind as the class moves into algebra. They're working on balancing equations.

I'd like some input as to where I can find online math games or instruction that deals with the basic concepts. Everything I've found through my searches deals with advanced, high school algebra.

I've been toying with the idea of installing Linux on my PS3 to see how it works, but haven't seen any definitive opinions. Yellow Dog Linux is recommended. Anyone familiar with it on the PS3? Has Sony fixed their wifi problems with the Linux OS's? I read that codecs for the ydl distro aren't free. Is this true?

How about Ubuntu? Is it even worth checking it out? I've heard that any secondary OS on the PS3 runs slow.

I'd like to try it out but don't want to give up a Saturday afternoon just to discover it was all a waste of effort. Would rather wait until I hear that Linux OS is working as nearly as flawless on the PS3 as it does on a PC.

Something that doesn't require command line edits to pair wi-fi radar to wpa_supplicant or one that doesn't forget wpa2 passwords from one session to the next.

I'm giving an older computer away but the person receiving it needs wi-fi that doesn't require constant fussing. Would Linux Mint, Red Hat, or another do better.

I bought eyeglasses at the first of the year that had the 'invis-clip' sunglasses. Last week I lost the sunglasses part. The store where I bought them no longer carries them and my searches online turn up nothing. If anyone can help with good suggestions for online eyeglass stores that might carry them, or even a brick and mortar place I'd greatly appreciate it.

Just so you know, these aren't clip-on sunglasses. They attach to the frame with a strong magnet at the nose bridge. Please don't send me to a site with clip-on sunglasses. Thanks.

I know that I can buy it online but I'm wondering what national chain stores might carry this brand of shaving cream. Target once carried it but stopped two years ago. Is there a chain of drugstores that stock it? Thanks for your help.

I'm running QB 2007 Pro. In the past opening my licensee's QB file for review was a simple matter of restoring his file from backup. We upgraded to 2007 last year and QB wants to put his file information over my company's when doing it with the restore feature. (The method that worked for me in the past.)

Is there a way to see his information without going through the steps of making a separate company to import his backup into?

This problem comes and goes and has occurred over the past 2 years. Before you suggest it, removing the fuse is only an option when the car is parked. The fuse to the locks also works the ABS brake system, the blinkers, and the travel computer. And removing the fuse every time I park the vehicle gets old quickly. I've had it to the shop and of course they've got no clue and I'm not wanting to spend crazy money on an electrical problem that they may not be able to solve.

Is there a way to disconnect the power to all of the power locks? Does disconnecting the driver's power lock turn off all of the power locks? Any help would be appreciated.

My family of 3 is planning a Florida vacation for 2009. Our goal is to pay cash and not put everything on credit at the last minute. To do this we're looking at areas of our life where we can cut back and put money aside.

For example each time we decide to eat at home instead of eating out we'll stuff $10 bucks into an envelope. When we make coffee at home and take it to work instead of getting coffee out we'll stuff away $2 to $5.

What I'm needing is some fresh insight into areas where a family with a 10 yr. old boy can cut back. (Sorry. Losing the cable is not an option though I wish it were.) And anything that helps a young boy learn some money sense in the process would be great too.

I have a pole of x ft. There's no weight on the end of the pole, but there's the weight of the pole itself to counterbalance. The pole is held at one end by one hand. What formula do I use to discover the weight needed (like a sword's pommel) to easily hold the pole in one hand? Sorry, it's been ages since my high school math and Physics, and I need help.

I have a Compaq Presario notebook running Windows XP Prof. I removed Norton using Revo Uninstaller which scrubbed the registry clean too. I also ran a registry cleaner to check for unwanted entries. But the system hangs going into sleep or hibernate. And I don't dare using HP/Compaq's system restore because it will just put Norton and a host of other unwanted programs back on my system. Did try using a legit copy of Windows XP Pro to try and do a repair but the screen keeps coming back that there's an administrative password when there is none. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I run Windows XP and use Microsoft Office Vista. Before the upgrade to Office Vista, MS's document imager would allow me to scan files into one .tif document. Now with the upgrade none of my MS programs will let me scan directly into a document. Not even into an Outlook email. They've caused me to have to open up a photo imaging program to scan with and it's added a good 10 extra minutes to tasks. (At least it feels that way.) Is there an open source program that can help me? Does Open Office allow scanning directly into one of their documents? And any ideas as to why MS got rid of this functionality to its office programs? To make you buy another program or to appease some DRM idiocy? Any advice will be well appreciated from this frustrated office worker.

We've got a garage sale coming up on Saturday. How much money would be wise to have for making change? We've got items ranging from the $150.00 mark all the way down to $0.10. Any suggestions for the amounts of each denomination? Would appreciate the input from any seasoned yard sale professionals. This is our first garage sale.

The past few days my 1999 Dodge Caravan's electric door locks have acted possessed. They've been locking and unlocking by themselves. For the short term I removed the fuse that controls the electric locks. Unfortunately my A/C now doesn't work, the blinkers don't work, and the ABS and Air Bag dummy lights are on. Where can I find information on how to get into the door panel and look for the wire that powers the actuators controlling the doors. (I'm assuming that disconnecting the wire in the driver's door will cut power to the other doors as well.) That way I can put the fuse back and get all my other car components working again. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm traveling and don't have time to run into a mechanic at the moment. The electric locks keep unlocking, a dangerous situation. Please give me detailed advice on how to disconnect the power locks for the time being. Will I need to get into the driver's side door and disconnect the electric lock switch there? Someone once told me that that's where the power goes first to run all of the door locks.

My hotel doesn't have a printer I can use. But I read once about faxing pages to a hotel's fax machine. My problem is that I can't seem to configure MS' fax console to get a fax out without telling me the line is busy.

Yes, I've done the "9,," before the number but it doesn't work to slow down the dialing. The PC is still sending out a slew of numbers.

I'm looking for websites that give instructions on form with pictures or even video. The goal is to have a collection of sites that I can bookmark and use while traveling. Sites dealing with Yoga, stretching, mild cardio, and the like would be great for when the hotel doesn't have an exercise room.

My son is 9 and in the 4th grade. He likes morning cartoons, Naruto (US version), all the cartoons on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, etc. But I'm at a loss at finding something I think he would enjoy and would get him to read more. What I pick up is uber violent or 95% drawings. Or things I just don't want to explain to him yet.

Should I just call it a day and get a subscription to MAD Magazine? Please help with your suggestions. The goal is to get him excited about reading, without him knowing about it.
