  • Broken/Blown Bass Amp?

My flatmate accidentally plugged one end of his patch cord in the input jack of his bass amp and the other end into the output(headphone) jack. Now the amp cuts in and out and is very quiet. You can only hear the bass when the amp is cranked to about 9 or so. Could this have damaged the electronics? Any theories about what the problem could be and (possibly) any thoughts about fixing it?

  • Printer Margins on HP Photosmart 7150 series?

I am trying print a pamphlet I have designed onto HP Everyday Photopaper Semi-gloss. However, when I use my Photosmart 7150, it prints off white borders around my entire document, and worst of all a HUGE white spot at the end. I've tried tinkering with several of the setting to no avail...still getting the big white band. Its hard for me to explain what the problem is without being able to show you. But if anyone happens to know how to get rid of these bands, please help!

  • Isolate x in this expression?

I am trying to find the inverse function of:

    f(x) = sin(x^2 + 2x + 1), x >= 1

So I have taken the inverse sin of each side of the equation and have gotten this:

    sin^-1(y) = x^2 + 2x + 1

Now I am trying to isolate x, but I don't know how to do it algebraically in this case.

My algebra is rusty and never was too good to begin with anyway haha. So any help with how to figure this out would be much appreciated

    THANKS!

  • Dirty developer module?

I have a xerox 5028 copier and it has been printing very lightly and evenly as of late. I changed the dry ink cartridge. I noticed that the developer module is very dirty with a lot of build up of what appears to be dry ink particles. Should I clean this? could that perhaps fix the problems I am having?

  • Drivers For DELL Optiplex 170L?

I just reformatted my HDD on a dell Optiplex 170L. I am trying to reinstall the drivers, but to no avail. I can't update my monitor driver through the monitor tab of advanced settings in the display properties window (says default monitor and the properties button cannot be clicked). This is the only way that it tells me to install it on the driver CD and also the DELL website. Is there another way to do this?

  • integral of 1/x = ln|x|+c?

    So I know why d/dx(ln|x|)=1/x.

But why does the integral of 1/x have to be ln|x|. couldn't it just be ln(x)? is this because 1/x takes values of x that are negative that can't be taken by the ln() function?

  • What should I put on my bike?

I have a full suspension Raleigh Tora and I took the decals off of it. Now i want to make some custom decals. I don't know what I want them to say. I'm thinking something funny like, "The Juggernaut", but not that, because of the x-men character.

So just make funny suggestions of what I can write on it in the format of "The ..." but if you can think of something else funny say that too.

  • d/dx(ln x) =1/x proof?

Just need a little help understanding the proof

    Here is the proof:

    Let y = ln x then e^y = x

    **

this is the part I don't understand

Differentiating this equation implicitly with respect to x, we get

    e^y(dy/dx) = 1

    **

    and so

    dy/dx = 1/(e^y) = 1/x

just the part between the ** I don't understand. Any clarification would be great

    Thanks!
