About 2 weeks ago, my Great Dane's tail was slammed in a door (like a wooden front door to a house) and it looks as if it was just cut, and bleeding. So, we wrapped it after rinsing all the fresh blood off; thought it'd be fine. Well, it's getting worse. It's changed color to black, has two spots where it looks as if it's burst open (abscesses) and it smells AWFUL. He has a vet appointment tomorrow morning around 11 am. The infected part is only about 3-4 inches of the tip of his tail. Should I be prepared for it to be amputated?? Is it going to be painful for my dane? He is almost 4 years old if that matters any.

Hi there!! i am getting my colt here next Monday!! He has gotten a 7-way shot, no tetnis or rabies. I am for sure getting those.. but what other vaccination should be given? West Nile?

Hi guys. It's Madison here, and i know i'm not always your 'favorite' person to help, but i need it. My horse, Buster, he is not gaining weight. I've given him like 2 weeks rest (so far) or no riding... and he's getting 6 quarts of grain a day plus a scoop of weight builder. He's concerning me, For his career that i'm working with him. For barrel racing, he needs better health. That's why he's not being ridden hard for the time being. Any suggestions? He's just like an old man... not wanting to move must without a crop whip... and he's not keeping weight on. He's a 6 year old QH/TB mix. Please please PLEASE help. I don't care about how much you hate me... if you really cared about horses you would help me out... for Buster's sake.

Hi there. Okay, so last night i woke up and had one red spot on the right side of my mouth. This afternoon, i woke up from a nap, (i'm not feeling well) and i had another one on the left side. (and still the right side). However, they don't itch. they don't effect me at all... no itching, no pain, nothing. i can run it, and it doesn't feel like anything. So... should i be worried? or... what do you think it could possibly be?

Hi there. Madison here. I have had it with my brother, John. He is 2 years older than me, and about 2 century's younger than me in maturity. (it's true...) He is always picking on me. He just makes these stupid little comments.

Okay, to straighten things out, i am spoiled. i will admit it. but i'm NOT a spoiled BRAT. i know where to draw the line when it comes to getting what i want. I have a horse, and my mom loves taking me to the barn. Well, John gets jealous. (as you probably guessed...) He always makes excuses for making our mother NOT go to the barn with me. It's annoying... he always tries to make me miserable. (and i know what you are thinking... "Oh this chick is so spoiled, she's stupid.. blah blah blah" but listen)

He is so immature. He will walk away saying "what an idiot" and i know this shouldn't get to me, but it does. (i guess it's my OCD coming out..). I just wish me and my brother could have a relationship we wouldn't regret when we get older.

Like most siblings, me and my brother literally.. fight like cats and dogs.

If you have ANY advice, i will absolutely consider it. I NEED help... and this is getting so serious, i WANT to go to a therapist. i'm not even joking. But John won't agree to go. (again, he drives me up a freaking wall) So please, just, please help.

hi there. How are you guys this nasty, rainy evening? i can't ride tonight, anyways- it's rainy.

Anyways, well, we are having a Christmas party for all the barn people at our house. Jonas, my horse trainer, has gotten me sooo far with Star. i have got to get him something for Christmas. so- any ideas? something for a male, obviously. and i'm only 15 and i am not rich. i have about $250 saved up that i can use. (NOT ALL OF IT!!) so any ideas?

i know it would help a lot if i knew, but it's hard for me to tell what he likes... he has had the same cowboy hat for a while, and i was thinking of that. But i wanted your guys' ideas.

Oh, and i'm for sure putting a picture of me and him in a picture frame. :)

Hi! how are you guys?! :) Star is doing great lately- i haven't been on Y!A forever- too busy at the barn! anyways, like i said she is doing absolutely awesome- but has had a small issue lately. It's a cough. she has a cough that the vet said was a very mild case of Heaves or Heathes- i couldn't understand what he called it--- but he said to wet down the hay drastically before feeding it to her to keep the mold and the dust down. he said it's a cough that isn't deep- just at the 'tip of her throat.' :) but anyways, is there anything else you guys have experience with that helps? thanks so much- :)

howdy. Madison here... i'm 13... and i know some medications for migraines aren't supposed to be used on people under 18. But anyways, do and of you guys know of any medications that help with migraines?

Recently, i have been having more severe migraines. Light is being worse and harder to look at. Loud noises are hard to put up with and be around. I've had to leave my kitchen because of my younger sister being too loud. anyways, does any one know of any medication that can help? it would be so helpful. :) thanks so much.

came up with an abscess when we were trying to load him into the trailer. i think it was a bruise at first, because he 'hopped' backwards out of the trailer when we were practicing the trailer with him. he was limping then and we took him in. he stayed in that night. then we checked him the next morning and he was about the same. so we bought some Epsom Salt and were soaking Epsom salt and warm water mixed together. with this help heal the Abscess in Arrow's back left hoof?

Hi there. My name is Madison and I have been looking for a horse trailer. I have found one that SAID she was in Cleveland, Ohio. but, She was sent over seas as an US Air force Sargent. There fore, the trailer i guess is now in Alaska! -_-

She said she could still ship the trailer for the same price. ($2,800)

But... she would send it through Yahoo! Autos. I have NO idea what that is. she said she wouldn't get the money until we signed the trailers papers....

I just need some opinions on Yahoo! Autos. from people that have used it. some of my questions are...

1) Is it a 'scammers playground?'

2) Is it reliable?

now, obviously Prime Grain is for horses that are in their 'Prime' years of life. Meaning... their most active years of life. So... my horse, Star, is 16 and is now working harder than ever... (considering she was rescued after 4 years old nothing). So... would feeding Star Prime Grain, be okay?

I got some Prime grain because she is working hard on barrels, trail riding, and poles. so, i believe she is in her 'Prime' lifetime... LOL!

hey yall. so... we cleaned out our outdoor riding arena... and let me tell ya. it looks 110% better! no more weeds... nothing! just the barrels, and the sand on the ground! :)

it's soft, and i dunno how absorbent it really is.

Ohio Mulch and Comp. said this would be good for the outdoor riding arena... but i don't want something that is so absorbent to make it slippery and puddled.

i know this is confusing... so here is my question! :)

- Should we use Concrete Limestone or just stick with the sand that is in the arena?

(i don't know why the material is called CONCRETE limestone, considering it's soft...) :S

hey there. my name is Madison, and i am rather concerned. so, this woman is one of my friends. not like best friends, but we talk and what not. but anyways, she is probably about 30ish? mid 30's? not positive. but, i am 15 and i am also concerned. she has about 18 German Shepard's living out side her house, well trailer. they have absolutely NO running space. if it rains they live in inches upon inches of mud. and although the woman is trying to sell the German Shepard's, she has only sold one puppy.

oh yeah, and out of the 18 dogs out side, 7 are Shepard puppies. then, to top it all off, my friend has 4 or 5 basset hounds living in a fenced in area with about maybe 4 meters by 4 meters roughly. then she also has one Shepard that is in indoor dog that is let out with the bassets.

i know this may be confusing, but i am wondering if this is a bad case. the puppies are the only dogs that have indoor room available. and not enough. then they have 2 baby goats, like a billion chicks/chickens, and they aren't very wealthy. not only am i worried that the dogs may be ill or are living for a rescue case, but i am worried that they won't get enough food because of no money.

my friends entire family isn't the brightest people, nor the people with money.

i just need to know if this is something that i should get involved with, or something i should just let fly over my head? thanks for your help. :/

hey guys! :) i just went to the barn yesterday and Star was AMAZING! Rocky... not so much. he has really been acting up lately. i think he needs to "retire" but i don't really wanna say anything, because i don't want Anita to feel bad. but, in the last week, 4 people have fallen off him! :O that shocks me! but they fell easily. nothing bad, they got right back up. but when all 4 fell off, Rocky either jumped to the side, bucked, pinned his ears, or fell to his knees.

is this just because, well, he's worn out? he is 24 years old... i never ride him anymore, ever since like 2 months ago... because that's when he started going down hill. but for his age i think he is ridden too much, too hard. why is he spooking and not listening as well? thanks for your help... i already have the thought that it's his age, but i wanted your opinion. thanks! :)

BTW:::: he isn't suffering. the vet came for a check up for all 4 horses about 2 weeks ago. he is fine, it's just the above issue is concerning me. thanks! :)

hi there! how is everyone this clear evening? i went to the barn, and there is a new, adorable black and white calf at my barn. his name is Troy. :) anyways, he is for sale. and i have been around cows almost my whole life, along with horses (just farms, basically!) the only farm animal i haven't had is a goat!

anyways, this cow is for sale. Rodger, the gentleman whom is selling Troy, said he would give me the calf for a negotiated price along with my friends agreement. Me and my friend were planning on boarding and owning the calf as a 'split-shift.'

INFO::::: WE KNOW THE NEEDS OF A COW. LIKE I SAID, I HAVE WORKED WITH THEM FOR PRACTICALLY MY WHOLE LIFE.

So, i need money for this summer. The board is $150, and the grain is only about $12 every other month or when ever needed. My parents are helping me with Star's board, but i pay $75 dollars. that is absolutely no issue.

how can i earn the $150 every month? (i pay 2 months, then my friend pays one month and so on.) Allison, my friend, is buying the calf and paying every other other board. :)

hi there. okay, so as most of you may know, the world was supposed to end today. at 6 PM, but, it didn't. Is 2012 the real end? i know no one really knows, but what would make anyone think it would the THE end? just cuz the Mayan Calendar ended, doesn't mean the world will, does it?

the reason why i'm asking this is because i am scared out of my skin about the fact of death. i was crying today, waiting for my death to creep up on me like a cheetah. i am just so terrified. what if death is nothing? what if death makes ME nothing? i mean, i believe one hundred billion trillion percent in God, and love and look up to him, but i am scared.

2) how to get over my fear of death?!?
