YouTube pages load with the video ABOVE the top of the page. Title shows, and video "plays", but I can't scroll UP to view it. WTF?!?
I'm on a Dell Latitude E4310 that seems to have other video card issues, but up until now, I could always watch YouTube videos before today.
I can scroll on the page just fine, but when I scroll the side bar all the way up to the top so that it can't go any higher, the page shows as though the video is being displayed ABOVE that.
Note: I got this computer fourth-hand from someone who didn't have the password for the admin account, and have to use this computer as a guest user, and it won't let me make certain modifications without "admin" permission.
1 AnswerYouTube4 years agoCan I use my repair disc to get rid of iVidi/ScorpionSaver malware?
I tried downloading Avast, which gave me the option to disable the Scorpion Saver add-on, but that did nothing. I also tried going into the Control Panel and removing both the Scorpion Saver programs from there, but I don't know what else might have been installed that could give me problems.
I created the system repair disc minutes before downloading what turned out to be malware (3 cheers for following your intuition - boo to a husband who went ahead and clicked 'download' before you could tell him your intuition said look into it further before D/Ling!).
It's making my head spin trying to figure out what to do. This thing seems to know I'm trying to get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
2 AnswersSecurity7 years agoTrying to evict someone who was never really a tenant. Did we do this right and legally? We're in CA?
So, she was supposed to be a guest staying here to help us out with house and kids. There was never any formal tenancy agreement, written or oral. After disagreeing with us on points that were really none of her business anyway, she became extremely hostile and harassing to the point that we had to call the police on her.
They said that what we had to do to get her out was give her a 30-day notice, could be handwritten they said. We typed one up on the computer, using a form off of a free legal aid site, specific to California laws. We didn't put a handwritten signature, just named me as the "Agent" to whom she should hand over the key.
First, we left a copy of the notice on her stuff in our front room where she's been crashing. Then we mailed one to her and one to ourselves at this address, and in case she found both and did something to them, one to my husband's mom here in town, so there would be a sealed copy with a USPS date stamp if we needed it.
When she got home, she ripped up the copy we'd left, coldly informing us that it was illegal and that she knew her rights. We called some friends to be witnesses, and personally served her another copy. She again started shouting and harassing us and our guests, and we called the police again. The officer looked over our form and informed her "You got 30 days, lady." He turned to us and told us that we should take it to the local court to have it formalized, at which point she crowed, "See, proves my point exactly!"
So, my questions: 1) Is the typewritten notice we gave her sufficient to evict, or do we legally have to go through the court? 2) Having had no formal agreement of any kind, did we have to give her notice of any kind, or could we have saved ourselves another month of harassment? I know it's moot now, but I'd still like to know.
(She'd been here for 6 months to the day on the date of the notice.)
Thanks for any and all help!
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoRural folks - do you hear that faint hiss/rushing sound?
Keeping in mind you don't get any extra points on here for being first to answer, please just take a moment to go to your window or door and listen.
This is a question more for people who live away from traffic and large quantities of bushes and trees, because freeways and roads and plant life all make sounds similar to this.
1. Are you rural, suburban or urban?
2. How near to noisy roads are you?
3. Are there lots of rustling plants nearby?
4. Describe the sound you hear.
5. Random-seeming bonus question: Do you listen to Matisyahu's music? I ask this because you can hear that rushing sound during some of his songs - I think he may be trying to say something.
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHow much could I get for a car running on 3 cylinders instead of 4?
'97 Ford Escort station wagon, 188,000 mi., registration suspended, back hatch has to be propped open. Few scrapes and little dents, but still gets good mileage, and is in otherwise good condition. If all cylinders worked, KBB value would be about $1500 for this car in fair condition.
Would anyone even buy this from me, or should I look up the local pick 'n' pull?
