  • Are there any ways of legally avoiding vaccine shots in the military?

Vaccines and immunizations can be very detrimental to ones body and health. Unfortunately I didnt know anything when I was a kid, and I didnt know that there is a form you can fill out for your child to stay immunization free. But anyways, Im in the USAF DEP and I know you have to get shots when you go to basic. Im pretty sure you cant get out of it. If i cant, oh well. but if i can I would like to. Btw Im not afraid of shots i actually enjoyed getting them. Just wondering if anyone knew a legal way to be in the military without having to get shots. Thanks in advance.

  • Should I take a break from exercise?

Im preparing for Air Force BMT and I ship Jan 31st, so I run alot and do push ups crunches sit ups etc. I have been exercising since July. I started running 6 days a week with sundays off. Then I started alternating between running and push ups etc. Now I went back to running everyday but my right leg starts to hurt after jogging for a while. I would describe that pain as a deep, acute pain. It is in a small area, in the center of the back of my shin. It starts to hurt after I run about a mile and it has been happening for about a week, but i dont want to stop exercising cuz i need to increse my running for bootcamp so it willl be more tolerable. But should I take like a week off to let my body heal? I eat healthy and drink plenty of water.

  • Are there any USAF Bases in or near Israel?

Ive made it a point to go to Israel at some point in my life because my grandmother died over there while visiting and was buried over there. Just wondering if there were any bases in Israel at all. If not then I'll find a way there eventually.

  • What are some exercises to help increase pullups?

I've been exercising because I'm leaving for Air Force BMT and I need to increase my pull ups but it doesn't seem to be working too well. I can only do 1 pull up at the moment because I needed to lose 30lbs and all Ive done for the past 3 months is jog. Now that Im well under my max weight to join, Ive been doing push ups, crunches, sit up, reverse abdominal crunches and trying pullups. Its been approx 2 weeks and I can still only do 1 pull up? Any suggestions on Anything to help? I eat really healthy btw and drink plenty of water

  • Am I still getting a beneficial workout?

Im doing a lot of exercises such as push ups, crunches, sit ups, pull ups and reverse abdominal crunches to get into better shape for bootcamp but everytime i do pushups my chest isnt sore the next day. I always thought that having sore was muscles was the only real way to increase strength and size. But while im doing the exercises my chest is on fire and I do as many pushups as I can until muscle exhaustion. What I basically want to know is: Can I still increase max pushups if my chest doesnt get sore from the workouts?

  • Since when has Air Force bootcamp surpassed Navy?

I know that the US Air Force bootcamp(BMT) used to be 6.5 weeks long and now it is 8.5 weeks long. I have been reading that Navy bootcamp is only 8 weeks long. Unless the Navy has recently extended bootcamp, why do people say that Air Force bootcamp is easier? The pt test are the same for Air Force and navy as I recall they both use the 1.5 mile run push ups and situps. So whats with all the hate towards the Air Force?

  • What are the reasons for this whole Occupy Wall Street protest?

I pay very little attention to the news and politics because they are very annoying at times with their bullshit lies and conspiracy. Would anyone care to tell me what the intent of OWS protestors and whats happening and could happen?

  • What Is the weather like in San Antonio during Feb. and March?

I leave for BMT January 31st. Exercising in cold weather has always been a little difficult for me. If it's gnna be really cold then I'll just deal with it but I was hoping that it would still be warm so BMT wouldn't be as difficult. Any knowledge of this would be helpful. Thank you

  • What is the difference between US Army MP and US Air Force Security Forces?

My MOS for the USAF is Security Forces, which was my #1 choice. I was just wondering about the differences between Military Police and Security Forces, which used to be called Security Police.

  • I just wanna see what everyone has to say?

Im shipping out for USAF BMT at the end of January and my MOS is Security Forces. I listed it as my #1 choice because of how it stated that you will be doing lots of training and whatnought. But I've been researching what some people said about SF and most seem to detest ever being apart, while others state that they had a great time, met awesome people and just enjoyed it all the time. My original plans were to enlist as a SERE Specialist but I'm not in the physical shape yet to pass the PAST test. I figured that I would work SF until I knew I could easily overcome all of the physical requirements of the PAST test and then I would cross-train into SERE. Now halfway through all of my entrance paperwork my original recruiter had to go do some training and I was then placed with another recruiter. My original recruiter stated that you can cross train into TACP, Combat Controller, Pararescue or SERE at anytime without having to wait 3 year like you would if you were crossing over into a new MOS. The other stated that I would have to wait 1.5 years. So does anyone know for sure how long I WILL have to wait to go for SERE? Anyone with experience or knowledge? Thanks

  • MEPS depth perception test?

When I went to MEPS a few weeks ago I didnt pass the depth perception test in the vision section. It didnt affect me at all but I want to become a SERE Instructor within the next few years and I beleive you need to have a depth perception to be a SERE Instructor. I've always had a good perception but according to the test I failed so I was wondering if I would ever be able to retake that part of the vision test once I'm officially in the Airforce.

  • What is the furthest I wil jog in Airforce BMT?

I'm deploying in 3-6 months BMT (haven't been told my job yet so idk my def. deploy date) and I can jog 2.5-3 miles but I beat after that. Imy goal is to be able to jog at least 5 miles but I was just wondering if anyone knows from experience how far they ran. I know the PT test is a timed 1.5 mile pushups situps and pullups. just wondering what the MTI will make you run
