  • Xbox 360 w/ connect warranty?

Never had to purchase extended warranty for electronics that I had purchased in past years. However, I've heard stories of Xbox consoles over heating and failing. But in recent years, I haven't heard such stories now. Should I still invest in purchasing an extended warranty for the newer generation Xbox system? It's only $20 for 2 years.

  • Who is singing with Stevie Wonder's Blowin' In The WInd?

Every time I hear that song, the other mysterious male vocalist sings along with Stevie Wonder, but no one gives him any recognition. Does anyone know any trivia or info about the song and who that person is with Stevie?

  • Sad times: we've lost two area chapters, Big Brothers/Big Sisters in the Hampton Roads, VA area!?

I'm just amazed how the economy is really hurting everyone - even charities who are supposed to help others who are in need of a little assistance. I thought I would sign up to be a "Big" so I can mentor a child. Even my son was excited when I thought about joining so he could be a "Big 1/2". But sadly, due to the lack of funds, they had to close their doors. Now and then I hear on the news how most charities are barely staying alive. Recently, the Red Cross in our area is asking for donations to help to stay alive. I try to give what I can, but it seems that it's not enough people are donating - which I can understand, I need every penny to keep my family afloat myself! It's doesn't seem to be looking that great for the folks in US - financially. Everything we that we depend on (food, clothing, groceries, fuel) is going up except our pay.

Anyway - thank you for letting me vent.

  • Protect Plasma TV with UPS?

Buying a plasma or LCD television is quite an investment. With many of them with the "already on" feature enabled, is it feasible to plug it into an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

Since it does a great job for computers in cleaning, and regulating voltage, it seems logical to connect it to big screen TVs for the same reason. I'm thinking of purchasing a UPS to protect my television - just to prepare for the summer storms and possible power issues with today's energy shortage and brown-outs.

I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way and actually plugged their TV into one of them.

  • Audacity Question: How Do I Transfer 78 RPM Discs to Digital?

I have a turntable, but of course there's no 78 RPM speed. I use Audacity for editing audio.

Is there a way to record the 78s either at either 33 or 45 rpm speed and somehow use Audacity to manipulate the file to play at the right speed?

    Thanks!
