I received a ticket for doing 72MPH in a 55 zone. I was clocked by Laser at a range of over 8,700 feet while passing a vehicle that was having a hard time maintaining speed that I had been stuck behind for 10mi on a single lane road. I felt it was unsafe to continue driving behind this vehicle so as soon as a second lane opened up, I took the chance to pass it.

On my ticket it states my speed of 72 MPH and states the safe speed on the road as being 55

However, the vehicle code I was charged with being in violation of is VC22349-EXCEEDING MAXIMUM SPEED OF 65 MPH.

Could this be admitted as a false statement by the police officer even if the actual safe speed of the road was lower than the citation?

another fact of the case,

After passing where the officer was sitting, I disappeared over a hill out of his line of sight. While out of his line of sight, I turned a corner where the view from the adjacent roads is blocked by the hill. He did not regain visual contact with my vehicle until he himself made the turn some 700+ Yards from the place where he lost sight of me. He did not actually catch up to me until 1000+ Yards from the point where he lost sight of me.

I just bought the Expedition I was driving in less than 2 months ago. it is a 1999 model and has a small lift kit with oversized tires. Can proving that the speedometer was never re-calibrated help me in any way?

This took place at the North end of Santiago Canyon Rd in Orange, CA

I have the upmost respect for law enforcement and I rarely speed for the simple reason that it burns too much gasoline. I only exceed the speed limit on the rare occasion that I feel the driver in front of me is driving unsafe and I need to put them behind me.

are there any sympathizing police officers out there or people with a degree in criminology who can answer these questions that will help me build a defense case?

Before you answer:

-I've seen tickets thrown out for discrepancies as little as the officer writing the wrong date on the ticket or the speed limit sign being too small for the speed it is posting

-It doesn't matter whether your guilty or not if you can prove that the officer committed an illegal act in the process of catching/pulling you over even if he did it accidentally or with the best intentions.

-I was not evading the officer. After I got in front of the aforementioned vehicle I reduced my speed back down to 55 which was before I even passed the officer

-my target is not to avoid paying the ticket, it is to avoid the point on my record.

i wanna put roller rockers on my mustang but the sets aren't cheap and i want to make sure its worth the money before i do it. can you feel the difference while driving? please only answer if you have put roller rockers on your non roller rocker engine before

So I am building a jetski, obviously haha, and I'm torn between using a 550 jetpump or a 440 jetpump. I have the 550 jetpump already setup on the ski (old owner replaced it when his 440 pump cracked) but I do have a good 440 pump in hand. I was on Group K's website reading up about the pumps and learned that the 550 pump hooks up better for bottom end as well as in rough water, but the 440 pump is better for top speeds. however the 440 pump has collision issues between the impeller and pump housing regardless of how good the shimming (said regular impeller replacement is inevitable with a 440)sounds a bit high maintenance to me but i do realize my engine will be just as high maintenance if not more though (more details on the engine build below)

BUILT THE ENGINE MYSELF, HERE ARE THE MODS:

-bored .050in over and equipped with forged pistons/moly rings

-cylinders were decked .06in

-Westcoast rechamberable high compression head (cc unknown but mild-moderate)

-SS head bolt replacement kit

-polished OEM intake manifold

-standard Keihin 42mm carb (I know I need to get a mikuni but thats what I got for now)

-K&N flame arrester

-polished exhaust OEM manifold/exhaust elbow (elbow off of a TS)

full Coffman Classic Exhaust custom fitted to the engine

setup to run with a 550 iginition box modified to accept 650 stator

the engine has all new seals and gaskets (including the very expensive hard to find anaerobic sealant lol) and it will probably be running on AV gas pending a compression check when the engine is mounted inside the ski. total true displacement of 657cc

so the ski is gonna be purely for recreational use (I just like to overdo it in extreme excess lol) I will only be riding it on fresh water. meaning rivers and lakes where the water is relatively smooth. I'm more of a cornering and bottom end kind of rider with the occasional sprints.

so really I already have my legs on the same side of the fence as the 550 pump because it seems like it suits my style better and its already in the ski, but I have always heard go with the 440 pump.

can anyone give me a good reason to go with the 440 pump over the 550 pump before I have to make a decision?

gigantic shares of some of these companies its bailing out. at this rate, i feel like were heading towards communism. especially with obamas new budget proposal. he wants to raise the stakes to 3.55bil a yr and cut the nations debt in half by the end of his term.....

im scared. anyone with words of wisdom

i want to get a pair of jones/armadillo lizards prefrable male/female to keep down the fighting and possible breeding if i so choose in the future. i no its almost impossible to tell the difference between the two genders..... yada yada yada. but where can i find them cuz my local reptile stores dont carry them.
