Why don't conservatives understand that we can always trust government to do the right thing?
Has any government ever abused their power? I don't think so. In case you don't know only the most selfless, caring and compassionate people ever try take over governments. They would never abuse their position or take away your rights.
As such, why don't people want to give the complete and absolute control over their lives?
A Washington politician will always make better decisions on how you should run your lives than you will. A bureaucrat will always spend your money on more important things than you could think of doing with it. You don't need to think for yourself or have any say in your life. The government will do that for you.
