I have an HP deskjet f4180 with photosmart essentials. When I scan something, it is very washed out and far to bright. I've tried fooling with it in photoshop to correct it, but have not been able to come close to the degree to which I am looking for.

People have answered this question by naming the settings as the culprit and I would very easily alter them to reflect the brightness level, but there really isn't a place where I can alter the setting. I can't do it through photosmart and there doesn't appear to be any other place where I can even gain access to the settings.

How can I go about changing the settings of my scanner if I cannot even find the settings to begin with?

I downloaded several new fonts (it's all the same font, but one is italicized, bold, light, etc) and I unzipped the folder, put them in the Fonts folder like normal, but when I opened Photoshop 7, only two of the six fonts showed up. I went back to the Font folder to check to see if all of them were there and they were.

I tried reinstalling the fonts and still the same two are the only ones showing up.

Is it possible to fill up your font list in Photoshop? Do I need to clean it out or something before more can show up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to access and essentially use another computer while you're on another? Like a remote control almost?

Because I was wondering if it's possible for me to use my computer, which has a small video card, and access my little brother's computer across the house, which has a very large and powerful video card, all the while staying on mine.

You may ask why not just use my little brother's computer and bypass all the fuss, but I'd first like to see if this idea is even possible and if it is, is it something I could practically implement, as in the cost of such a venture.

I'm sure I'd have to put all he computers onto a single network, right? I've heard of and seen teachers from my old high school use something similar to monitor students while on the internet and they could take it over and control what was on the page if necessary.

Any help, suggestions, or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The name Madara pops up in various animes (Naruto, Natsume yuujinchou, Madara) and I was wondering if there's any story behind it. Is there a myth about Madara? Where did the name come from? Is it part of the Japanese mythology?

I was working on a word document and tried to save it when a window popped up saying it couldn't save because of some problem and then the document closed. I was working from a flash drive and when I went to go find it again, it was gone. Deleted from the flash drive.

Is there any way to restore it?

I just don't get it...

This boggles my mind why people are screaming rape over Acorn. Does it not occur to anyone that even if Mickey Mouse and some dead people are registered to vote, an actual vote won't be counted come November 4th? Because Mickey and his dead pals won't be strolling into a polling station to cast their ballets. They gotta have ID's too. But then could someone vote twice? Once for themselves and the once as impersonatin another? Sure, but then assuming the person has to vote in the same place, I'm sure someone working at the Poll would catch them in the act. And if not, then really anyone should be able to 'double dip'.

I do not condone the allegations against ACORN and if they are found guilty of fraud, then they should be fined, due process of law and whatnot. But then there's Obama's association...If it can really be called that. I mean, one of friends from elementary was arrested for assault last year, does that make me a criminal too because I have an association with him? It just doesn't hold up against what I see as a ligitimate issue.

There are numerous studies dismissing the ACORN argument's case. Example from a recent article posted on Yahoo home page:

Now that the FBI's supposedly getting on the case, we'll see how this turns out.

Nevertheless I can't help but feel like the Republicans are grasping at straws with this issue and the fact that the majority of votes being purged are Democrats.

I bought an over the counter one day treatment pack for a yeast infection. I had one a few weeks before this one and I knew the symptoms and as soon as I saw the sticky white discharge I immediatly went and bought some stuff for it (the exact same brand as before too). But it's now Thursday and the itching just got worse as the week went on. I'm wondering if the one day treatment might not have been enough and if I should go get a 3-or-7 days treatment instead, I heard those are more effective. The itching isn't bad, but there are spots above the cliterus (under that flap of skin) that are really sensitive to the point it hurts, like it feels raw, but I haven't been itching or anything. When I bought the treatment, the symptons were very mild and I thought with the treatment I would nip it in the butt and pass by the symptoms like itching, but they've only gotten worse. Please help!

Where can I find out more about japanese tea houses? I'm writing a story and when I tried to do research I found very little information. Wikipedia didn't help. My biggest concern is that I am mistakenly labeling what I am imagining as tea house may be something else.

There's a spot on the left side of the roof of my mouth, close to the middle) that's swollen and I was wondering what could cause it? It's happened before and really is kind of common for me and it always goes away within a day or less, but it just seems bizzare for it to decided to hurt for a few hours at random times. I didn't eat anything spicy or hot or anything.

What do you call a hurricane in the antarctic?

Ok, I heard this song a long time ago and I remember it was about cats and stuff and was kind of jazzy. I always thought this song and "Zoot suit riot" sounded a lot alike so I hope that helps.

The only lyric I remember was something like "...mama cats cry..." or "..baby cats cry..." and so on.

First off, I have lost the instruction booklet for my Brothers Sewing Machine, Model Ls 2020. More like I severly missplaced it but I don't have it for help.

I threaded the bobbin and threaded the needle but when I go to actually sew, the thread won't go into the fabric. I sew through a piece of fabric, tak it out, and all I see are puncture marks where the needle punched through. I tried messing with the dials but no matter what I do, it won't sew.

Please help. I'm not looking forward to hand sewing this project. ><

There is a lady on Deviantart who does TF plushies ( http://suzywong.deviantart.com/ ), but her commissions are too expensive for me so I want to make my own. I've tried to make dolls and stuff before but they always come out looking...bad. So I was looking for any web sites with good references, tutorials, and/or techniques that could help.

My biggest issue with the construction is making the head look round, not like an inflated pancake. I plan to make the doll out of felt.

I read this book when I was in 7th grade, and the title was something like 'the secret of...blah blah'. It was about two orphans (a brother and sister) who have these strange powers and they escape or runaway from somewhere. They find a castle who's lord and son are protecting the last remaining Dragons. I remember the siser marrys the lord in the end.

It was years ago when I read this so it's a slightly older book.

I am interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, but mostly looking towards the advertisment areas. I am doing research for my perfered career before I start school so I have a good idea on what the hell I'm doing and if this is what I really want to do.

Some things I need to know:

1. How is the Market looking? I know internet based advertising is HUGE at the moment, but is there anything that could flip the market? Is the current state of the economy and fears of a recession effecting advertising agencies or the field in general?

2. How much does an entry level position pay?

3. What is the best way to get into the field?

4. What type of abilities would make me 'valuable' to a company besides being "good", as in what are employers looking for?

5. Are there any agencies in the Austin, Texas area?

Well, I have Dell laptop 9300 inspiron. It's a couple years old. I wanted to update the AVG virus protection I have and I got the back up CD in the mail the other day. Yesterday I put the CD in to up date and there was an optional firewall option. I started going through the process and half way through it I decided to cancel it because it was asking me things I didn't know and I didn't want to take any chances (I'm not sure if this is at all relevant) . And then my comp started acting weird. It said some sort of process wasn't operating correctly or something (I think it said PCU?) and it beeped and restarted. But then it did the same thing over again. I tried to put it in safe mode to put to do systems restore but even in safe mode it did it. Plus! I have no tool bar on the bottom of my screen. No start menu or anything.

Is this a program problem or has something in my comp finally fried?

I own a Dell Inspiron 9300 and it's a few years old. Anyway, I was working in Photoshop, coloring a picture, and after I closed the program I noticed the colors on the screen were much brighter then normal. The borders on my internet browser is normally green and now its a greenish yellow, almost as if the brightness had been increased. I thought that was the problem at first and turned down the brightness, but the colors did not return to normal. Green turns to yellow, yellows turn to white; everything is just generally much much brighter. How can I fix it?

I have broken pixels or something on my screen as well but nothing like this has ever happened before.
