had to read a historical fiction book for english and i don't understand it. i kinda do but i am getting the characters mixed up. can someone help me to understand? it's fine even if you have seen the movie. i just need to know the basic plot. thanks so much!

okay so yesterday was april fools day. this kid is in all my classes AND he is my science partner. he has been flirting with me FOREVER [ex.."hay beautiful what's up?" or "i'm so ugly...do you think i'm attractive?"] and he always tries to talk about sex or something sexual with me. hes always stabbing me with his pencil or doing something to annoy me.

AND THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY

so he asked me for my number, and i gave it to him. later on he said "will you go out with me?" and i said "my mom says i'm not allowed to date until i am 16 or 17..." and he said "oh....that's pretty gay, but who says she has to know..." i said back "well we cant even drive yet, dating secretly is pretty much impossible" and he goes "APRIL FOOLS! you thought i was serious?"

ok so i think that it really wasn't april fools because if i said yes, he would've gone out w/ me. and he just did it on april fools to have something to fall back on. but here is the thing...I DON'T LIKE HIM! HE IS A JERK AND DATED LOTS OF GIRLS ALREADY. but heres ALSO the thing...he is friends with people that I like! but i don't think it would be right to date him just to get closer to his friends...

okay so my birthday is tomorrow and i still don't have gift bags. i can't think of anything! help! only 3 other girls, wanted it to be close friends only, yea ages like 13-15
