I have been rescuing horses for 30+ years .I have a QH mare that is not that old; that was headed to the slaughter house. She's a really nice mare and was down on her weight when I got her. but not really that bad.Not compared to some that I've taken in. she was bred 3 time in a row [in foal now]. I figure being in foal and a little depressed her weight is just not coming on, vet says that there is nothing medically wrong her . and I've been tiring everything .she gets hay 24-7 like all my horses and ALF. I give animax, complete horse feed, and rice bran now 2 times a day. I have given her beet pulp every kind of weight gain that I know of tried her on different kinds of hay she is wormed every two mo. Any Idea's ???????????

we run a rescue farm for horses and we get them half dead some times. People dump pregnant. cats off at our farm. most of the dogs that we've owned have been rescued. it makes me sick .
