Who tried to study the relative intelligence level of races by measuring the volume of grain each could hold ?
I first heard of this research when I was a Vista trainee in Denver. Obviously, Caucasians had the largest volume of grain, followed by native Americans, and African Americans. The conclusion was that the volume of the skulls reflected the relative intelligence of their respective races. The experiment was duplicated using the same set of skulls in the 60's but with lead shot substituting for the barleycorn. The later experiment could detect no significant differences in the skulls capacity.The point made to us was that this researcher believed that he was being objective and unbiased even though he had his finger, if not his whole hand, on the scale.
