I did a ~145-mile bike ride over the course of two days (~70-75mi per day), and after we finished the second day, I nearly threw up when on our way to get dinner. I did this same ride last year (in fairly same shape) and felt completely fine afterwards. I had pretty good snacks during the ride (bananas, apples, clif bars, water and some powerade for electrolytes) and ate them spaced out and as my body naturally craved them along the way and during our short breaks. I literally got up to the restaurant counter, maybe 45 minutes after our return, ready to order, and heaved a bit before running to the restroom to upchuck 1/4 apple, 1/4 of clif bar, and water I had before the last 15 miles of the ride. Needless to say, I had a small healthy meal with some yogurt to ease my [sick but still hungry] stomach. The next afternoon (morning was fine!), my stomach was extremely upset and cramped. Any idea why this nausea hit so badly? Note that this was my 3rd rather long ride (did this 145-mi last summer, did a near century last Nov., and now this 145-mi again). I'm 20 and fairly healthy. Never really thrown up after running/cycling before. Thanks!

I'm looking to upgrade and sell my Bridgestone RB-3 road bike (early 90s, good condition), and I found a possible buy: a 1997 Specialized Sirrus, also in good condition. It has the index shifters and lighter chro-moly frame that I've been looking for, as opposed to my Bridgestone's downtube shifters and slightly heavier frame. Which do you think would be the better bike? Should I just stay with my Bridgestone, or is a Sirrus like that a better bike? Images of similar bikes below:

First off, we are both 3rd years in college. Now I have this good friend of mine who, whenever we see each other (which is always in a group setting), he acts very close friendly and flirty with me... hugging, making jokes of us being together, talking his problems out, messing with me, etc. I like to think he's a best friend, but I do like him a little and would like to hang out with him more, so I will flirt back with him. And I always try to do little things for him that make his life easier (cooked and brought soup to him when he was sick, save him dinner when he's late to group dinner, offer an ear to listen when he's had a rough day, lend him study books, wish him good luck when he has a test, etc.)

The only thing, is that he only seems to want to be with me when the campus ministry community we're a part of brings us together. When I invite him to hang out with me (just as friends, for lunch/tree-climbing [which we both enjoy], since he enjoys talking about things with me), he always has odd excuses or ditches last minute. It is known, though, that he is flirty with a lot of female friends (one of those guys who all girls like to be friends with), and he often tells me how he had lunch with this girl, or hung out with that one. And that's cool, some guys have that charm, I guess, and we're all friends. But he seems to act different around me (while in the community area), like he actually might like me, like more forward flirting. He had written two notes that he wanted to give to special people, one for me and one for his best guy friend, encouraging me and letting me know that I'm beautiful in and out (in spite of how I've been mistreated in the past or how I feel about myself). So naturally, I feel like he likes me / cares about me more than a typical "mind-gaming friendzoner".

But he once told me in a deep conversation about his ex and how she was trying to get back with him but he's not ready for a relationship. I was just listening while he vented, but I took that piece of information and it reminds me when I think he likes me that he's not wanting a relationship. So why does he play these mind games with me, kissing my hand and hugging me tight one day, but never wanting to enjoy a casual lunch break with me, like he does with all of his other lady friends?

Even if he wouldn't want a relationship, I at least would like a real friendship, rather than this friend zone / flaky stranger / pretend-to-like-me deal. He did say in that deep convo, that he likes to be straightforward, if he likes someone, he'd want to not beat around the bush and just say it. So I don't know what to think about him... They say girls can't be friendzoned, but I feel like this happens to me more than I'd like, and I do like him. I'm sorry for the guys who get that feeling... it sure isn't a fun place to be. Considering asking him, but I'm not sure... I am, however, not doing as much of those nice little things I always find myself doing for him, because what's the point of working myself to brighten his days when he plays with my emotions..? :/

I am attempting to reach a website (a course-scheduling site provided by my university). However, the page's content will not show because "the connection to the server is encrypted" as I was notified in a message by a little lock icon by the web address. I checked the certificate, and it shows that it's ok, and I moved the website's URL to the "trusted sites" list under Internet Options, however, I have no idea how to unencrypt the connection so that I can see the actual site content (and schedule my classes)!

I don't know too much about server stuff besides SQL, etc. that I learned from a computer science class, so if you know anything that could help me, it is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My friend (now in New York) was moving across states, and got a ticket in West Virginia for speeding 20 above. After a hefty fine, he took it to court to get it reduced. They reduced it under the condition he keeps a clean driving record and takes a driver's improvement course before a year passes. So now a year later, after moving four more times and losing his papers but finding them again and just forgetting about the course, he received a letter that there is a warrant for his arrest in WV, he has a new fine worth twice as much, his license has been suspended, and any cop that stops him or runs his plates can take him to jail, all because he forgot to take the course. (So we know he can't even drive now in New York, not just West Virginia.)

Is there any way that he could have his time to take the course extended until this Saturday (deadline was early this month, but he just now signed up for Saturday) and be ok to lose that arrest warrant / have his license un-suspended? He is going to call the WV authorities to see what can be done, but I thought I might ask here for any advice I can offer him. Sorry it's long, but anything you may know is much appreciated. It's been a rough year for him. Thanks a ton! :]

I'm buying a bike from a seller that will be used for getting around my college campus and surrounding town. However, I cannot decide between two women's vintage 10-spd Schwinn Varsity bikes (from around 1974-1980) and a women's vintage 12-spd Peugeot Carbolite 103 (from 1980s, without horizontal bar). The Schwinns are blue (my favorite color) and red, and the Peugeot is white. Both are in good condition, and the only thing is the older chain (on blue Schwinn and white Peugeot) and a small tear in the Peugeot's seat. They are all the same price, and the Peugeot has a carry rack attached on the rear.

Which would you think would be the best choice?

This is a 1980's Vintage Women's Peugeot Carbolite 103 12-speed road bike that I may be purchasing from a seller, and it is in good condition except for the old chain. It still rides smoothly and the chain does not come off when the gears are shifted, however, I know the chain will have to be replaced at some point. I would rather sooner than later to be safe.

So, first off, how much does it usually cost to get it replaced by someone? Or is it easy DIY project, and if so, how would I go about it on my own (not knowing much about bike repair)? And let's say I don't get it replaced immediately... Will it be safe to ride considering it's still a smooth ride? Thanks so much! :]

I have a small T-mobile "Samsung :) t359" cellphone, and while I was bathing my four little cousins, it fell out of my pocket into the tub. (I know, I shouldn't have had it there to begin with, but I was expecting a call, and forgot it was there). Now it was in the water for a split second as I grabbed it immediately after. I took the battery out after I was done (about 10 minutes later), patted the phone dry with a towel, and set both components in a bowl of rice. It's been in rice for the past 2 days now, and all it does when I hit the power button is load up halfway and then shut off (I know you shouldn't hit power, because it could short circuit it, but I check to see if it's improved).

Does anyone know of another method to help revive it faster? I know of the vacuum idea, but my vacuum is far too large to use on such a small phone. Any idea on how long it may take to work again, or if there is any chance of it working again? Thanks so much! Your help is greatly appreciated! :]

so my weight has been a solid 112 for about 2 months now (i'm 15 years old and 5'6"), but i've realized that when i eat a lot one day, it would decrease, however when i eat less than usual, it will increase, which is the opposite of what most people experience. my friend told me that it's good that this happens, but i was wondering if it means i have a fast metabolism. or if not, what does it mean? and is it abnormal? also, i'm a healthy person, eating about 3-5 healthy medium-sized meals a day, and i run cross country and track. am i doing something wrong here? thanks to everyone in advance. :)

My lap-top's mouse tends to get a mind of its own, with the cursor going off suddenly to either corner of the screen to stay. I can't move it out or anywhere else, for that matter. It takes complete control of itself, unless I hold down the middle mouse button for 30 seconds. This happens often, though. How do I stop it for good?
