New Tank Suitable For My Pet?
Hi guys.
I have a yellow bellied slider, he's around a year old.
I've wanted to get him a bigger tank for a while and I finally snagged one, I just want to make sure some of the features are safe for him.
Basically it's a M.A.F (Mad About Fish) midi aquarium, 15L.
Now obviously a water container is a water container, but this comes with a 'Hi flo combined filter & pump'.
I want to make sure that this isn't dangerous or harmful to him in anyway.
I'd really appreciate any help, thanks guys.

2 AnswersFish8 years agoHigh End Router Needed?
Hi Folks,
The situation is basically this, I am with Plusnet & their stock router simply cannot support the amount of devices I have. I have a fibre connection.
My connected devices are:
Laptop & 2x Kindle Fire by wireless.
Laptop, 3DS, iPhone by wireless (via range extender, terrible speeds though)
2x gaming desktops by Ethernet, using Power-line Adapters. (One desktop uses the wireless, depending on availability of power-line adapters)
Xbox 360 & PS3 by wireless (via extender) or by Ethernet depending on availability of power-line adapters.
So in this situation, my connection drops on all devices & the router needs to be restarted daily, and it's driving me NUTS!
If someone could recommend a higher-end fibre compatible router (not a modem/router, as it uses the BT Gateway Modem) that would stop this issue, I'd appreciate it vastly.
My speeds are really inconsistent too, somewhere between 20mbps and 55mbps down using speedtest.btwholesale.com, but again I blame the cheap router for this.
Any help my friends, again, would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
Micky!
P.S. Anything under £60 would be ideal, I have an unused non-fibre router I can sell to get a bit of extra cash though.
1 AnswerComputer Networking8 years agoGraphics Card effect on video rendering?
So, I know that the processor and RAM effect video rendering times, but does the GPU? I have a gaming PC right now and I record on it every day, the specs are
i7 3770k
GTX 670
16GB G.Skill Ripjaws
120GB SSD
2TB HDD
It's a great machine, but while rendering gameplay can get a little laggy, so I want to build a second system for pure video rendering, FX 8150 OR 8350, 32GB memory, and keep everything else as basic as I can, Im just hoping the graphics card has no effect because I want to keep this second system as cheap as possible.
So, if it does have an effect, how big is that effect? Rendering times right now using Premiere Pro is around 2 hours for 20minute video @720p
1 AnswerAdd-ons8 years agoChanging Routers G/N/B?
So, when it comes to this, I'm kind of a noob, but here's the situation.
All computers in my house are newly built, with TP-Link Wireless N adapters, but when I go into my Router settings, (SKY) the only signal options I receive are G and B.
This is a problem because the computers using the N adapters get a very poor connection, if any connection at all, and considering these have been built as gaming PC's, its a problem.
So here's my question, if I were to buy a TP-Link 300mbps N Router, would the process be as simple as plugging it in in the place of the other router?
Or is it more complicated?
Let me know, please!
Thanks in advance,
Maika
2 AnswersComputer Networking8 years agoNo Audio In New Computer?
So I've just finished up a new build, and, I'm having audio problems.
It's connected to a tv via HDMI (I've had several other computers hooked up to this tv by the same hdmi cable before and the sound worked fine) but I'm not getting any sound.
Under Hardware and Sound, I have Realtek High Definition Audio, and ATI HDMI Audio. I have removed each of them just leaving the other, and that didn't solve the problem.
If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated, step-by-step instructions that work will get Best Answer.
Please don't just say 'oh it might be XYZ', tell me how to solve the issue.
Thanks in advance,
Maika
It says that Realtek HDMI Output is unplugged, but it obviously isn't, since the display is working.
Posting again in a different category due to no answers.

2 AnswersAdd-ons8 years agoNo Sound In New Build?
So I've just finished up a new computer build, I've done one already with these exact same parts, and after updating the drivers, all worked fine.
It's connected to the monitor via hdmi.
All Windows updates are install (Running Windows 7 Home 64 bit), newest GPU drivers are installed (HD 7xxx series), motherboard drivers installed.
Display is working fine, but no sound?
Any help, would be much appreciated.
BTW it says ATI HDMI Audio Device is unplugged.
3 AnswersDesktops8 years agoWhich Mobo Should I buy?
This is the last part I need for my i7 3770k build.
Asus P8Z77-V LX2
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prod...
OR
AsRock Z77 Pro4
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prod...
From reading the specifications, it seems that there is virtually no advantage of the Asrock, but I must be missing something, any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Other Parts in build:
4 x120mm fans (so take fan headers into consideration)
Front USB 3.0
i7 3770k
Hyper 212 Evo cooler
2x8gb 1866mhz gskill
GTX 670 SLI
750w 80+ silver psu
1 AnswerDesktops8 years ago1080p Camera w/ External Mic?
So I'm trying to decide on my Christmas present. Budget being £200.
I'm thinking of a new video camera as one of the options, I'd need full 1080p hd. and support for an external mic, not sure if that's possible at my price range, but if it is, please share those cameras with me.
None of those handheld/pocket cameras though, because I know they exist, this is for filmmaking, not like, vlogging.
I have a back up plan if theres no cameras that fit, haha.
Thanks in advance,
Maika
3 AnswersCamcorders9 years agoCan't Plug Fan into Mobo?
So, the case came with a fan mounted at the front
Case:https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?pro...
But the wires coming from the case are really short, and hardly reach the motherboard at all, and on top of that, I can't see anywhere on the motherboard for them to plug into anyway?
The motherboard: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?pro...
Could be a very nooby question, but in all the builds i've done so far I haven't had this problem before.
The fan has two connectors (one for the fan and one for the LED im assuming) it's like this:
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoCheapest Decent Dedicated PhysX Card?
So I have a build with an i7 3770k, a GTX 670, and a 750w psu, and I was wondering what would be a decent PhysX card I could add to my system, without breaking the bank ofcourse, since the whole system is new and has cost over £1000.
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoMotherboard With Built In Wireless?
Just out of curiosity, are there any motherboards out there with wireless built into them?
I have no problem buying a £10 PCI wireless card if needs be, but most of my customers are saying they want a desktop that will use wireless as opposed to a wired Ethernet connection, so if it'll take the cost of their system down by a £10, then cool, if not, then whatever.
So, does such a board exist, if so, links?
If not, then whatever!
1 AnswerDesktops9 years agoCan't Install HDD in my case?
Okay guys, probably a really nooby question.
This is my case:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prod...
I have a 3.5" Seagate Barracuda hard drive to install in here, and I can't for the life of me find a way to secure it.
There is what looks like a 3.5" 'cage', which the drives fits in perfectly, but there are no screw holes.
Any help for this specific case would be much appreciated, I've made several computers before but never used a budget case, and therefore have never run into this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Maika
1 AnswerDesktops9 years agoZenit EM 35mm Camera Question?
So I've just picked up this SLR camera on ebay for a cracker deal (£13) and I'm not sure what kind of film I need for it?
I know there is black & white/negative film, or Colour film, (both 35mm obviously) but I can't seem to find much info on the camera, (not even on it's Wiki) as to which film, if not both, the camera is compatible with.
If anyone has any experience with this, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Maika
2 AnswersCameras9 years agoNeed A Motherboard Recommendation?
So I need a ATX Z77 Mobo with:
Usb 3.0 front and back
PCI-E 3.0
SATA 3.0
2 PCI-E x16 slots for SLI
Can run 16gb of 1866mhz memory per channel.
Under £120.
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoMemory & Motherboard Compatibility?
So folks, here's my, I guess you would call it a dilemma.
I ordered 32gb of GSkill Ripjaws X memory, 2 16gb sticks.
My motherboard is an AsRock Extreme 4. The maximum memory this motherboard can support is 32gb, which I have, but I'm worrying that it will be limited to a maximum of 8gb per channel?
I checked on the manufacturers website but I couldn't get an answer.
If someone could shine some light on this for me, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Micky
3 AnswersDesktops9 years agoFeature Packed Z77 Mobo?
So I've ordered an AsRock Extreme4 motherboard for my Intel i7 3770k processor, but it seems to have very mixed views, and at £106 I would want something with more consistently positive feedback.
What I need from my motherboard:
2 or more PCI-E x16 slots
Usb 3.0 front and back
Sata 3.0
Atx (not micro)
Can hold 32gb of ram at PC 16000
Preferably black (my case has a clear side and I think blue mobos are ugly)
Supports easy overclocking
Maximum budget is £110, but I'd prefer something around £80 if possible.
Any suggestions please either leave links to a UK site, or the entire model number & it's features.
Will vote best answer to whatever board I decide to buy.
Thanks a lot guys.

3 AnswersDesktops9 years agoComputer Motherboard/Processor Advice?
So folks, I'm looking for a non-biased to the point answer here, please.
I'm building a computer for heavy video editing and gaming. Because I would be editing too I got the AMD Bulldozer 8150 processor and a Gigabyte FXA UD3 motherboard.
I haven't opened them yet, though, and I'm getting REALLY tempted to return them for an i5 3750:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-I5-3570-Processor-3-...
NOT 3750k, I won't be messing with overclocking.
So my question is really, I know the i5 would be better for gaming, but
1. Just how much better
2. How about for the editing?
BUT MAINLY
I need a recommendation of a motherboard with good reviews for the i5.
What I need from the motherboard:
Supports up to PC16000 RAM or higher.
Has 2 PCI-E x16 slots for SLI / CrossfireX
Has USB 3.0 on the back AND front (my case has a front usb 3.0 port)
And PREFERABLY, it to be black, I don't really like blue boards.
The colour is only optional really.
Budget is £100.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AsRock-Z77-Motherboard-Soc...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-P8Z68-V-Gen3-Mainboar...
Been looking at those two, but the product description doesn't really give me enough info.
Thanks in advance.
