Help in Dreamweaver aligning images?
Yes, I've already asked this. Only got one answer last time. And for the record, no, I cannot write extensive code, I'm using style sheets.
I have to create a website for a multimedia class. All was going well and I felt intelligent until I tried to view it in Firefox. (For the record, I have to use a school computer, a Mac, and I'm using Dreamweaver CS4, CSS, etc)
On one of may pages I was doing images and some info. I would insert the image, then type the tiny paragraph underneath, then select the photo and give it a 'class' rule for it to float left. So basically (in Dreamweaver) it was 4 images stacked on top of one another, with their info out to the right. Everything looked fine.
I go to check it out on the web, and everything's gone all wonky. The top picture is where it's supposed to be, but the next one is...caught on it's corner, I'm not sure how else to explain it. I'd link it to you, but it's on the university's server, and I have no idea how to screenshot on a Mac. Basically it looks like:
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto (text here)
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto Photophotophoto
----------------------->Photophotophot… (text over here)
----------------------->Photophotophot…
----------------------->Photophotophot…
The third picture was back to the left, with the fourth picture caught on its corner. If that makes sense. I tried pressing enter a few times in between photos--didn't work. I tried adding in a break <*br /*> thing into the code, but that didn't work either. Took all the breaks out...nothing. I want it to be:
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto
Photophotophoto

Any ideas?
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoSoft lump on dog's shoulder?
First off, this is not my dog, and that's the truth. I'm not saying it's not my dog to shirk the responsibility of her. To be honest, if I had my way, I would rehome this dog, even if her owner cares about her.
Now. The dog in question is a...mutt. I'd say she's primarily a pitbull type dog. Pepper was found in a parking lot in Georgia by her first owner. Her first owner was not able to keep her and then gave her to another guy. He said all she gave him (as far as Pepper's things/papers) was a bowl and a food container. Pepper is now 10 months old. Talking to her owner last night, he said he was unsure whether Pepper has had any of her shots, and she has not been spayed. However, I don't even think she's been through her first heat cycle... He is intending to take her to the vet very soon, but that could be this week or in a month. I don't have control of her vet visits, so telling me to take her is...pointless. She's just a very sweet dog and I care about her a lot.
Anyway, I visited their place last night. She was very excited and when I was greeting her, she yelped. At that point I had just been petting her all over. Later on in the night, another guy was rough housing and she yelped again. I looked in her ears, nothing. Started running my hands over her and found a soft lump on her right shoulder, maybe golf ball sized. It was very squishy, but kept it's shape. She did not yelp when I would touch it. Once showed her owner, he said a few weeks ago his housemates had been tossing logs (the live out in the country) with Pepper out in the yard. He was not with them but he suspects they may have hit her with a log. She was limping for a few days and was very sensitive. She isn't limping now, but has that lump on her shoulder.
I'm wondering...could the lump be due to an injury, and could it be serious? Muscle damage? My own dog has a cyst on her back, but it is much harder than Pepper's lump, and is benign. Honestly, I don't think this lump she's got is life-threatening, and since I don't know how soon he'll take her to the vet, I want an idea of whether it actually *could* be serious so I can badger him into taking her if it might be.
So any idea what this could be? Can dogs get fluid-filled things from injuries? Or is this just a harmless cyst that could be drained?
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat's your opinion on dog parks?
I'll be getting a new dog in a few months (got to get the timing right so I can be there for her) and I want to have her socialized with both people and animals.
The idea of dog parks on the surface is great...a park dedicated to friendly canines and their owners where everyone can enjoy a romp and some daily entertainment and exercise. However, I'm well aware of the potential for any dog of any breed to become annoyed or possessive and snap at another dog, causing minor or severe injuries. There's also those horror stories you hear in the news about owners shooting other people's dogs because they thought the other dog was being "threatening." Little extreme, but I don't want my dog to be injured or killed, especially since she is a "bully breed."
I'm aware of socialization classes, training classes, and daycare programs for puppies and dogs, but those cost money and (from experience) daycare programs have just as much potential for fights as any other dog gathering. Only difference is it has more experienced handlers. I will be taking her many places with me once she's old enough to do so, but since she will be living as a single dog with me and one roommate, I don't want her to become territorial or aggressive to any other humans or animals.
So what do you think about dog parks as a socialization tool? What are your experiences with them? Could I take my dog and leave her on the leash, or would that be destructive in her process of getting along with others? Do you have any socialization tips that do not involve classes?
Btw, money is not an issue, but dog parks are free and day programs are not...for similar activities.
16 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhy is Kroger checking IDs for cooking wine?
A while back, I went to Kroger to buy some cooking wine (don't lecture me on how much it sucks, I don't care) and I wasn't expecting to be carded because I've bought SEVERAL bottles there before previously. I didn't switch Krogers, I wasn't buying a wine with a higher alcohol content... In fact, the bottle of wine I had bought at this Kroger before was sherry, and I was trying to buy white wine...which has a lower alcohol content than sherry.
Anyway, the douches at the Uscan told me they would not sell me the wine because I had to be 21...WTF. I'm 20 and I've been buying cooking wines for at least the past 3 years with no trouble at all. Gave me some b.s. excuse like maybe the wine had a higher alcohol content...except no, cause I buy this brand all the time.
It's p!ssing me off. One, if they are going to card for cooking wine, they shouldn't be selling it in the regular grocery aisles. It needs to be behind a counter or in the Wine & Spirits store. Furthermore, if they're going to card for that crap they need to start carding for Listerine and Scope as well.
Question is: Why are they carding now? Anyone know? Is there a way I can dispute this or am I just going to have to be peeved about it till my birthday in a few months?
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoCanine Leukemia and what to expect?
For a little bit of history:
We got my dog (corgi mix) back in 2000 as a foster dog. She was pregnant, and we guessed she was 2 years old. She gave birth to 6 healthy pups (who were given up for adoption) and we kept the momma. We had her spayed as soon as allowed. After that, she lived a healthy bouncy life with no problems.
On a routine checkup, the vet felt something in her belly (maybe a tumor, maybe something else) and suggested we do surgery to remove it. Turns out, it was a foreign object--a surgical towel left in by our Humane Society that did the spay (thanks a bunch -_- ). But she recovered from that as well.
Now, she's lived a good long life and she went with out other dog for a routine check up. Since she's old (13ish) the vet decided to do some bloodwork. Unfortunately, her white blood cell count was at 150...I was told the normal was 1.5. (I know nothing of technical things regarding animals) Either way, the vet was very confident that our girl has canine leukemia.
There are two types of leukemia, acute leukemia (being the more aggressive) and chronic leukemia (which is much slower and dogs can live with it). The vet believes she has chronic leukemia. The also offered to do chest x-rays, bone marrow tests (or whatever), and tests on her spleen, but we honestly don't see the purpose in wasting our money for them to just confirm what we already know. Even then, we won't subject an old dog to chemotherapy, when she'd still only have a max of 3 years of life left anyway. She has not displayed any out-of-the-ordinary behavior. Her appetite is GREAT and she sleeps a lot--sounds like a regular old dog to me.
My question then is this: Does anyone on here have a dog with either type of leukemia? What should we expect with chronic leukemia? We were also told leukemia in dogs is rare...should we attempt to find another cause of her white blood cells?
Any personal information regarding canine leukemia would be appreciated...I can look up other stuff on Google myself. Thanks!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoGood fruit treats for dogs?
I'm planning on getting a puppy this summer (bull terrier, if it matters) and I've been doing a lot of research on the breed and on dogs in general...just so I know everything there is to know, opinions and facts. I've owned dogs before, so no lectures please.
Anyway, I was hoping to be able to give my girl some healthier treats but not pay some of the goofy prices for some of those fancy dog treats out there. I was thinking I could buy things such as bananas, strawberries, or pineapple, cut them up, and then freeze them for treats.
I guess my question is...have you ever fed your dog fruit, and what was his or her favorites? (I know grapes are out of the question) What about any other little snacks I can give my dogs? I would prefer not to have to bake treats, as I could probably buy bags for cheaper. Any other suggestions for yummy healthy treats for dogs? :)
12 AnswersDogs1 decade agoOne Sims 2 family always crashes...help?
I've been trying to find a solution to my problem with the Sims for *ages*...
Whenever I try to load this one family (it consists of two elderly people) it'll get to a certain point int he load bar and then the music will start skipping and I will get the box that says "This application has crashed. This application will now terminate." It has only happened on this one family so far.
I have deleted my Group Cache, so it's not that. There is nothing wrong with my graphics. Sims 2 has been running fine on my PC for years. So, I assume that this means my family's file is corrupted.
Is there anything I can do to save this family? Or am I just going to have to delete them?
And if I do need to delete them, can I still use their old house for other Sims? Or will that same lot cause new Sims to crash as well?

1 AnswerMovies1 decade agoYour suggestion for a beginning photography camera?
I looked around for a question like this, but I couldn't find anything to my specifics. =\
I haven't really done anything in photography before, but I kind of wanted to meddle in a bit since it is something that interests me.
I was wondering, what are your suggestions for a good camera for a beginning photographer? I would prefer a digital camera, as I don't have means to develop film, and don't want to deal with it as a beginner. At this point, I don't know if I should get a self-focusing camera or one with a lens you adjust (I don't even know the correct lingo) or anything else specific.
Does anyone have any tips on what I should look for in a camera for quality, diverse picture-taking that is relatively easy to use/figure out and is semi-affordable? Brand preferences? Anything?
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoCalculus question--area and functions?
My professors in college have this awesome habit of not covering everything that's in our homework. Hopefully someone on here can give me a little bit of guidance to steer me into the right direction for the answer.
Find the area of the largest rectangle with one corner at the origin, the opposite corner in the first quadrant on the graph of the line f(x)=20-5x , and sides parallel to the axis.
The area equals ???
1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoChemistry question--energy, gas, work?
Apparently my teacher forgot to cover this b.s. as it's nowhere in my notes and I'm about to break my laptop in half. So if someone could give me some tips or some equation or just solve the thing, that would be spectacular.
A gas expands and does P-V work on the surroundings equal to 347 J. At the same time, it absorbs 155 J of heat from the surroundings. Calculate the change in energy of the gas.
The answer should be in Joules.
