  • Why no umpire questions?

Whenever a close call is replayed and casts ANY doubt on the umpire, the "experts" come out of the woodwork on this site. Today, Pedroiia and Valentine argued about 2 calls that were obviously right and I haven't seen one comment. Where are the armchair umpires now?

  • Why will we not have 1,000 comments about this?

If an umpire is percieved to have missed a call, there will be all kinds of questiuons and comments on here about it. The situation with Zambrano throwing at Chipper Jones was handled beautifully by Home Plate Umpire Tim Timmons (not only with the immediate ejection of Zambrano, but heading off the Braves who were about to storm the field). Hats off to Mr. Timmons for a job beautifully done! Unless you have umpired, you have no idea what a pressure cooker that situation can be. Why are people so quick to criticize things they know very little about?
