I am debating a move to either Boise, ID, or Austin, TX. I was curious if anyone here had thoughts on either of these cities.

I'm not a big fan of winter, and who doesn't like live music?, so Austin intrigues me. I've also heard the singles' scene is more late-20s people. I'm a 33 y/o single male, so having a community of single people my age is important to me.

I've heard the Boise winters are actually not too bad at all (am I wrong to say low 40s usually?), and I like the idea of having great outdoor pursuits nearby, as I enjoy hiking and flat-water kayaking, especially. And I already know the traffic is far better in Boise compared to Austin.

The job scene in either place isn't a huge concern yet.
