  • Where can I find a good sponsor for events?

Competition BBQ team that gets a lot of traffic and does approx 8 events per year. Great opportunity to advertise/market products at these events that cater to thousands of visitors. Usually a party atmosphere therefore a lot of sponsors at these events are beer companies. We are looking for a long term relationship with a sponsor and open to ideas. We can get really creative with banners, shirts, etc and ensure its beneficial for both parties. Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Who has good ideas on how to get a free car? NOT A FORD!?

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer with just over 119,000 miles on it.

Keep in mind, this is well cared for and driven only to work and back (20 miles total per day)

Thanks Ford for making crap vehicles and advertising as if they are great!

I bought this vehicle in 2008 with 82,000 miles on it for roughly $6,500 from a Ford dealership.

September 2008 - New Motor at 95,000 miles

Also new Ball Joints and O2 Sensor

All in $3,500 ( with a used motor from Ford)

November 2010 - Guess what, needed a new motor again! In addition, new shocks, exhaust manifold, water pump, and battery. This time went with a Jasper Remanufactured motor w/ 3 year warranty.

All in $4,000...however also am told that the ball joints are already bad again and it's really in need of a whole new front end ($750)

Now I've had the vehicle back since the new motor and driven it approx. 20 days since.

I get an engine light and O/D light come on two days ago and immediately get straight to the shop.

Guess what now? The O2 sensor again, and an even bigger surprise...the transmission is failing.

All in this time I'd be in for another $2,500. So outside of normal maint. on this vehicle I'm in for approx. $9,500 in repairs over a two year span. I still owe $3,500 on this stupid Ford so I can't really sell it or trade it in when it's in need of repair. I have two kids and one on the way so I can't continue to drain our income like this. Of course, I also have to be able to take them to school and drive to work daily. I don't want to fix this transmission nor can I afford to! And between this debt along with all the other normal stuff we all see, I'm in no position to buy another car. I'd rather leave this POS on Fords lot to rot! Anyone have creative ideas to rub Fords name through the dirt? Better yet, anyone have any creative ideas on how to get a good car for free? I'd be willing to do just about any publicity/marketing stunt possible with this Explorer if it would help! :)
