How has he been elected twice and made so many "brilliant" democrats look so stupid?

On the campaign trail they pledged fiscal responsibility. Although they haven't submitted any appropriations bills yet they want to spend $205,000,000,000 more than the president has proposed er, I mean Mr. Bush. They want a 1 TRILLION dollar tax increase. They tried to stuff an emergency war spending bill with billions of dollars in pork to individuals after first trying to cut off funding all together while our troops were under fire. They want to roll back the Bush tax cuts costing families $500 per child and the average small business $4,000. Now they're dragging their feet on an emergency war spending bill for body armor, bullets and mine resistant vehicles. This is after pledging to "support our troops". No energy bill, no action on health care, no action on the mortgage crisis, no action on immigration reform, no progress on renewing no child left behind. What are they doing aside from playing golf and having lunch with lobbyists?

Are they confused by it? Do they not understand how it works? Is it because the Democrats lost even though they narrowly got the popular vote? Don't tell me it is outdated. I want to know why you think we would be better off without it.
