I love to listen to music, and I would say that to some extent I know a little when it comes to music. I am also a fan of the UFC and art. I love tatoo art.

  • Canon 60d warranty repair question?

To save some money, I recently bought a EOS 60d used from B&H online. The on/off switch is acting weird, and every-time I turn it on, the switch has to be moved a little in the off direction to come on. If my thumb grazes the switch, even the slightest, it goes off.

I checked with Canon's website, and using the cameras serial number I discovered that the camera is under warranty and thus the repair would be free.

However, I bought the camera used. Does that make a difference? Wound Canon know? If they knew I bought it used, would that void the warranty and could they later charge me with a bill? Any other suggestions on my problem.

FYI I only bought the body because I already had a few lenses.

  • How can spaceships explode in space, on Battlestar Galactica?

After watching all of Firefly, which is anothe great series, I decided to feed my sci-fi fix by watching Battlestar Gallactica.

If space is an oxygen-less vaccum, than how come ships catch fire when shot at? Don't things require oxygen to burn?

Also, about the water shortage episode. If the tank broke, wouldn't the water just instantly freeze because space is really cold? And if gravity requires LOTS of mass, how do the land ships and walk around normally in the Battlestar?

    Just curious.

  • Did the French really have traitors at home during Dien Bien Phu?

I recently watched Apocalypse Now Redux version, and was amazed at the French plantation scene. When the one man said that the French soldiers grenade's were sabotaged by the "french women for Vietnam", is that true?

Also, did the French really lose many battles to be that defensive? Defensive enough to call the Americans fight the "biggsest fight for nothing in history"? Whatever happened to the French plantations, did they eventually wise up and leave?

  • Did Vietnamese prostitutes hide razor blades in their vagina's?

My old man has some buddies that were in the war, and they claimed they heard stories of the women (prostitutes) hiding razor blades to inflict the most amount of damage on the American G.I.'s. I didn't believe him.

If you fought in the Vietnam War, or know of any documented cases of this, please shed some light on this argument.

And if you are a veteran, from the bottom of my heart, thanks for you service to this great country.

  • UFC 100 predictions: Mir vs. Lesnar, who will win?

In my opinion, I think it'll be Mir. Then again, I just started watching MMA about a year ago. I do know that Mir already stopped Lesnar once with a leg lock, and I think he can do it again. Sure Lesnar did beat The Natural, and sure he's freakishly athletic, but I think that Mir can still stop him.

    Opinions, ideas.

  • Does Epicureanism relate to Religilous, the popular documentary by Bill Mahr?

I'm doing a project on Epicureanism and I needed to find a song and movie to compare the philosophy with.

I MIGHT choose Religilous because they both talk about not fearing religion, and both kind of talk about how believing in religion is one of mans downfalls.

Is this to far a leap to connect the two? Am I off base comparing the two?

    comments....suggestions...anything???? thanks

  • What are some movies about Epicurean philosophy, being the carefree, don't worry pleasuruous attitude?

The tenant i'm looking for should be about:

Carefree, seeking pleasure over pain as a way to happyness

The song I'm choosing is "Don't Worry" by Bob Marly

The Epicureans also believed that the soul died after death (being made of atoms) and the gods shouldn't be fearead because anything they did was just an act of nature, not a punishment. Any suggestions? Help?

  • What's a good PC racing game like the NFS 2, except newer?

First off, the game needs to have a real world free roam where I can just drive around to kill time, like in NFS 2 and the Midnight Clubs. Secondly, it needs to have pretty good graphics and a selection of cars.

My laptop is XPS M1530 with an NVIDIA GE FORCE 8600 GT with 4 gigs of ram.

    Any help would be great.

  • How has epicureanism manifested in the modern world?

If you don't know what epicureanism is here is a quick definition of the philisophical though:

They believed that studying philosophy should be done to make you happy. They also believed that wanting led to sadness, so if you don't want anything, you'll never be sad when you don't get it. Another tenant led that there is no heaven, hell, or soul, the only true things in nature were all material things of matter. Any ideas into how this affects us today?

  • Do unhappy/unsuccessfull people bring others down with them?

I've always lived by the mantra that I can do anything I put my mind to. Now it seems as if someone, who shall remain nameless, is trying to point all the problems and issues of me going off to college. Is it just because he/she is themself is unhappy/unsuccessful, or is it something more. Is there any research or psychology work done on the subject.

By the way I just found out I've earned an academic full ride scholarship.

  • Tattooed initials on upper calf: what's the significance?

I've seen lots of people with their initials tattooed on upper half of their calf, I just wanted to know if this was symbolic of everything. If not, do you like the look of it, or would you hate it.

Probably going to get one sometime this week.
