  • I took a laxative yesterday and it didn't do anything. What do I do now? Lots more details....?

I am almost 3 years post op RNY weight loss surgery. That means I predisopsed to ulcers and have to watch what I eat. I also have fibromyalgia, and my doctors keep prescribing naproxin which does nothing- fibro is not an lnflammatory disease.

Anyway, last thursday I was in tremendous fibro pain and took the max dosage of Naproxin. I had stomach pain and diarhea and almost passed out.

Since then I have not had a bowel movement (7 days now!) I am now on vicoden/tyleonol w/codeine which I know bind you up. I have been having a lot of stomach pain in the upper left qudrant, complete lack of appetite and nausea.

I saw my Primary care physician yesterday and she blew me off (we have issues). Yesterday at 3pm I took a over the counter rectal laxative, 15 minutes to an hour it said. Nada.

Help?! I drink my fluids, get fiber, no caffine, etc.

I took an overnight laxative this am (I am home all day today), was this the wrong thing to do?

    Have I broken my innards?

I have never used laxatives before, only stool softeners once every 4-6 months.

  • Should I go to the ER for pain relief due to Fibromyalgia?

I am newly diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after months of unreolsving pain and fatigue. My primary care physician prescribed Celebrex for pain 2 weeks ago. It has not helped at all. Currently my Primary care physician is closed. I called my rheumatologist who told me to begin taking the Cymbalta he gave me, and to expect relief in 3-6 weeks. I cannot sleep and am having trouble walking and dressing due to pain, I simply cannot wait 3-6 weeks. The rheumatologist told me he could do nothing else. I am not finding relief in Tylenol and cannot take other OTC pain meds due to a stomach condition. I am going out of my mind with pain, stress, distress, worry and lack of sleep. I called my pyschologist and left a message with her. I HAVE to work today till 9 pm. Would the ER be a good idea after work? I am just beside myself, crying at work, and a mess. I don't know what I want them to do, I feel like the doctors are relutant to treat my pain because so many people abuse pain meds. But I've never been prescribed anything aside from when I had surgery.

Any suggestions will be greatfully accepted.

  • Pain in Knees, 28 years old, options?

28 year old female, formerly VERY heavy, down to a slightly overweight BMI, but surely that didn't do my knees any good. I also ride horses, extensively, and I know the mounting and twisting and such have done damage, as have the numerous falls.

Now I hurt going up and down stairs on both sides, as well as wearing high heels.

I tried glucosamine and chrondroiten and I am still in pain.

What might a doctor reccomend for the pain? Do I need a knee replacement at 28??

  • What is the best dishwasher safe, 32 oz +, non leaking, BPA free, water bottle?

Title pretty much says it all. Dishwasher safe, no leak drinking lid, BPA free, 32+ oz or more. Less expensive would be better. I have a ton of the nalgene bottles but all the lids leak now!! Grrr!

  • Tooth Ache- What gives?

For the past week or so I felt like I had something stuck between my back two bottom teeth. I flossed and such carefully to no avail. It's hurting all the way into my jaw quite a bit now. What is going on? I don't have dental insurance till Nov 1 so I was thinking of going to an emergent medical center to get pain meds till then? No odor, no blood, etc. I brush 2x a day, and use mouthwash, floss regularly but not daily and have regular dental care up to the last 3 months or so.

  • Jelly like discharge?

I am 28 and just went off Nuva Ring for contraception while my health insurance changes over. Suddenly with no accompanying odor or pain, my usual discharge has gone from slightly thick to mucus-y jello type stuff. It's still mostly clear, no yellow or green colors, and no smells etc so I don't think it's a YI or BV. Any ideas? Should I worry? It's just weird- like playing with phlegm or something.

  • Hunter/Jumper folks, which side do you carry your crop on? Inside or outside?

I've been carrying my crop/bat/whip in my inside hand at my horses shoulder. Now i know I need to use it behind my leg to effectively reinforce the go forward cue, but it is the inside hind or outside hind that I should be cueing with the bat?
