What you recommend for a power supply for an AMD quad-core?
I am doing a rebuild on a desktop, and found out my current psu isn't compatible with anything greater than two cores. The processor is an Amd phenom x4 2.2Ghz and I'll be using 4GB of DDR2 and a 1GB Ati radeon 4550 graphics card. I am currently looking in the 550-600 watt range but would like some second opinions on this. Thank you.
4 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoWhy doesn't Windows 7 want to install to my hard drive?
I had the windows 7 beta installed on a secondary hard drive (120 GB) and have now decided to install the windows 7 rc on that hard drive. I went ahead and formated the hard drive and even partitioned it afterwards. But for some reason windows 7 refuses to install on the hard drive. It says that windows cannot be installed on the partition because windows cannot boot from that hard drive. I checked the Bios and confirmed that both hard drives are listed and that the CD/DVD are checked to boot from first. I also checked this with my windows 7 beta disk and it gives the same problem. I am not sure at this point whether it is a BIOS problem or it's a windows problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWould the spark plug cables on a 98 Dodge Neon cause an electrical problem in the car?
I took the car to a repairshop yesterday and they said that there was some wiring near the plug wires that was causing higher than normal voltage and causing problems with the fans next to the radiator. The blowers for the heating/ac aren't working either, and the car is having overheating problems. What should I check and replace first? Also, I have a budget of about 350 to work with. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially from a mechanic or current or previous Neon owner.
2 AnswersDodge1 decade agoDual Windows OS's running off of one network?
I have a Linksys WRT54G Router set up on my main hard drive which has Windows XP. Recently I purchased a second hard for the same desktop and decided to load the new Windows 7 beta on it. The beta installed fine but had a problem with the ethernet driver. I fixed it but it still wouldn't directly connect to the router. I tried connecting to the routers web interface but that didn't work. So far, the only I've been able to connect online with Win7 is if I connect the modem directly to the desktop via USB2, and have it disconnected from the network. I still have to reset the modem even after that. I have a wifi adaptor that's usb based and tried to connect it that way. It would recognize the network but wouldn't let me connect, nor would give me the option to type in the network key. I'm going to try to connect wirelessly to the network with it unsecured. Anybody else have a suggestion?
