  • I want to use an English shanked snaffle on my stallion. I don't know what to get.?

    Hello,

I have a very smart and well trained big, powerful, yet gentle Azteca/ Andalusian stallion that knows how to dance and do Piaffe/ Spanish Walk. He was under a brutal Mexican bit (Bitto Charro) with a ridiculously painful shank that had two rollers on it his entire life, so out of curiosity, I put him under a shanked Western style snaffle to see if he would respond to it without taking advantage of the situation (since I was under the assumption that he was going to go crazy as people kept telling me that his mouth would not be soft any more), and I was extremely happy when I figured out that his mouth still has a lot of nerves and sensitivity because he responded very well to the bit and was extremely happy with it.

I got him used to that bit for the past week and I decided to take him on the trail for the first time today, and he did very well, but I had a bit of trouble with stopping him because he would fight the stopping pull a little bit by extending his neck and giving me some resistance before coming to a full stop.

With this bit, I still make him keep the beautiful shape of his curved neck and he is still able to dance and do Piaffe, so I don't want to lose this ability.

My question is in regards to me wanting to get into English riding, and I basically know nothing about the bits these riders use, so I was wondering if there are any types of shanked English bits which I can use because I want something similar to what dressage riders use, but I want to be able to ride him on the trail with me having piece of mind that I can stop him if he spooks or takes advantage. I have been going on Youtube to see how the Spanish riders ride in the arenas with their stallions, and I want that kind of bit.

Please consult these links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRGu8iYuv8U and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geDbzWKLkFw

I know you can't really see the bits in the videos, but I want the type of control that the the rider in the first video has. I am not interested on your opinion of the sport, just want the specific name of the type of bit that is used.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Browning Wasp Recurve Bow String Length Question?

    Hi,

I recently bought a Browning Wasp recurve bow. The specifications say 47#, 56" AMO. What string length do I need to buy for it? I don't know what AMO is, but when I went to Bass Pro Shops they told me I need a 53" string. I just want a second verification before I order it.

    Thanks

  • Two 9.00 µC charged particles are located on the x axis. One is at x = 1.00 m, and the other is at x = -1.00 m?

    (a) Determine the electric field on the y axis at y = 0.400 m. = ___ N/C j

    (b) Calculate the electric force on a -3.00 µC charge placed on the y axis at y = 0.400 m. = ___ N j

Please show all the work. The angle I found was 21.80 degrees.

Please help me. I have 1 attempt left and I can't figure this problem out no matter how many times I've tried.

    Thanks

  • I want to buy a PSE Bruin Compound Bow and I have some concerns that I need clarification on?

I have been a rifle hunter my entire life, but I would like to try bow hunting. I am planning to buy a PSE Bruin Pro Series rated peak at 60 lbs. The string looks good, the bow looks good, the sights the guy put on it also look good. Is 60 lbs strong enough to hunt deer (mule deer), boar, and even elk with correct shot placement at up to 40 yards? I don't really know because I am able to shoot my cousin's 70 lbs bow with no problems, and I know that hunters where I live typically shoot mule deer with bows 65 lbs and above. Is this a good bow for hunting the game I listed? He is asking $200. Is that a good deal?

  • California handgun regulation elites, I need your help with the legality of something?

I am planning to buy a Colt Anaconda .44 Magnum and a Magnum Research Desert Eagle .41/.44 Magnum Pistol from another state. I will of course be using an FFL to register the firearms under my name, but before I commit to my purchases, are these firearms legal to own in CA right now. I am almost certain that I can own the Anaconda, but since the Desert Eagle is semi-auto and in such a big caliber, I am still hesitating. Please let me know. Thanks.

  • Losing a lot of hair at 19 years old... need some advice.?

I have started to notice that over the past 3-4 months I have been losing a lot of hair on my scalp. I see patches of missing hair on my scalp in different area. As I said before, I am only 19 years old, and no one in my family is bald. There is no baldness on either side of my family's genetic tree. I am thinking of buying Rogain Foam to put on my scalp. Is there any other advice you all can give me. Thanks.

  • Staples in my leg are being covered by my healing skin?

I went mountain biking, fell, received a huge gash on my leg and the doctor stapled the area of the gash, but now as the area heals, it has started to cover over the staples, and I don't know what I should do now.

I have been keeping the area very clean and applying Neosporin daily.
