Prom Dress Shopping Around LA?
So, I'm going to California in a week and I'm looking for dress shops around Burbank/ LA/ Laguna Beach. I'm looking for stores that are more unique (ie not a chain store). I don't really want a typical prom dress, and am looking for something really different and possibly vintage inspired.
Just for price reference, I'm not really looking to spend $1000 for my dress. I'm mostly looking for dresses between $400-$600, so if its a ridiculously expensive store, its probably not for me xD
So any cute/unique stores, please suggest them!
4 AnswersLos Angeles1 decade agoI really need help remembering the name of this movie!?
So I just remember seeing the trailer, and now I would really like to remember the title.
It came out within the last year, I'm pretty sure.
It focuses on a boy in high school who believes he's the reincarnation of some philosopher/revolutionary leader. (May have been Karl Marx)
He likes this girl and thinks it's fate because she has the same name as the wife of said philosopher.
And it was an offbeat comedy movie. Look fairly cute and funny.
Help would be great!
1 AnswerMovies1 decade agoGreat Expectations Help?
We're doing a practice essay in English in a few days, and we have to write about how individuals take responsibility for themselves/others. I'll probably focus on Pip, and how in the end he accepted who he was and took responsibility for how he acted in the past. But I could use some other ideas and some specific examples.
Thanks!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoGoing into Anthropology. What should I minor in?
I'm majoring in anthro, with plans on more specifically studying archaeology. I don't really know what I want to end up doing, but hopefully something that involves actual field work and travelling.
What do you think would be best to take as a minor? I was thinking a language, but I don't know. Also, no idea what language I would take.
I know that it's a hard question to answer when I don't have any specific goals of what I want to end up doing, but any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!

3 AnswersAnthropology1 decade agoI'm partially blind; Does that qualify me for disability scholarships?
I'm legally blind in my right eye because I was born without a detached optic nerve. It mostly only has a small effect on my balance and depth perception (and I can't see 3D movies, which is a bummer.)
But I was wondering if this qualified me for disability scholarships, since I can't find any place that specifies how blind you actually have to be.
5 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoWould my weight stop me from getting into a teen beauty pageant?
I'm really not the pageant type girl, and I've never even thought about entering one. But I'm sort of starting to think it could be a fun experience.
I know they're not actually supposed to discriminate based on weight, but let's face it, I've personally never seen a plus-sized pageant girl. I'm just wondering if you have?
I'm 5'4, so I also have the short thing working against me. About a size 8 in dresses. And my body's not terrible, just bigger :)
It's a Miss Teen Alberta pageant, so for any of you who have seen/been in teen pageants in any province or state, have you ever seen a bigger girl even competing?
Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoCan I switch computers and still keep all my Sims 2 families?
So, I'm changing laptops, but my hard drive is still going to be the same. It's getting taken out and then put into an external hookup. So I'm wondering if all my files are the same, will my Sims 2 families stay like they are? Will I even have to reinstall the game, or will it already be there when the hard drive is plugged in?
I'm thinking that all my families are going to dissapear, so in that case should I just package them to file? I know if you package them to Sims 2 and then download them, of course they won't have the relationship ties. But if you package them to file, will they keep all their relationship?
Of course, if I lose all my sims, it's not the end of the world. But any help would be great. Thanks!
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoPopular rock songs for karaoke?
If you do a lot of karaoke or own a good number of karaoke CD's, what are a couple rock style songs you always notice as a pick? Like it seems they get put on every CD and they're a popular pick to sing.
6 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoCan anyone help me with my audition?
I'm auditioning for a production of Once Upon A Lily-Pad for a childrens theatre company in my town. Even though it's a theatre aimed at 3-6 year olds, it's still a professional company, and I've never gone on a real audition before. Really, my problem is picking the right monologue and song.
According to the posting notice, I need "a song in the vein of contemporary children's movies and a monologue, no more than three minutes, from a show that is, ideally, aimed at young audiences." It goes on to say "The crux of the audition will be to find actors willing to be goofy and have fun. The more comfortable they are about immediately making big choices, the better. Since the play's dialogue is minimal, and its audience will be very young, structured but still improvised audience interaction will be an important part."
So I'm not sure on the song. I was thinking that a Disney song would fit "a song in the vein of contemporary children's movies", but can you think of any that would be comedic enough? Or I was thinking something along the lines of 'My New Philosophy' from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. But I don't know if that would be alright. What do you think? Also if you could give a few suggestions of kid-friendly, Disney-esque/Broadway songs (idealy for a mezzo-soprano range) that would be great.
The monologue, I just have no idea for that. Again, something funny and kid-friendly. Any great monologue websites would be a good help, but a few specific monologue ideas would be even better.
Thanks!
