Rationalize the denominator?
Hi
We recently had a test on radical equations and there were a couple that I had trouble with.
We had the question "The amount of current, I, in amperes (A), that an appliance uses can be calculated using the formula I=√(p/r). It then asks to rationalize the denominator of the formula, which I'm not sure how to do in this context. Because the symbol isn't clear, the formula is:
I= the square root of (P/R).

1 AnswerHomework Help8 years agoOpinions on Abstract Fire Photographs?
Hi Everyone,
The other day we had a big campfire and I decided to take some photos. I eventually moved toward taking abstract style photos by using longer exposures and swaying, tilting, zooming, and twisting the camera around. I was just looking for some thought, opinions, and critique on them.
They are the first 5 in the following gallery:

1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoSmall Scab Won't heal (had for 4 months)?
Hey Everyone,
Around 4 months ago, my Father got a very small cut on his arm (not deep and very small) and it simply won't heal. It's scabbed over and been bumped off, then scabbed over and come off, but it now remains a scab and won't heal. Does anyone have any clues as to the issue or a solution?
I've googled around, but I can't find anything that matches his situation. Because of the size of the injury, he doesn't think going to a doctor is necessary unless serious.
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerSkin Conditions1 decade agoThird Number in Monitor Resolution?
Hey Everyone,
I'm just been wondering what this is, as I'm only familiar with the first two. Chances are the thrid number isn't even to do with it...
Anyway, I was playing a few games the other day and went to to change the settings. I wanted to change the resolution, but I saw there was both 1650x1050x16 and 1650x1050x32. They weren't really any different, but I would just like to know!
Thanks!
2 AnswersMonitors1 decade agoCan you please critique a photo?
Hey Everyone,
Just a simple flower photo (yes, a flower. I'd been off them for months, but this one was too much!)
Any critique is greatly appreciated! I'm sure a lot of people will certainly be against the large 'negative space', so if that is so, please let me know!

3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoCircular Polarizer on Ultra Wide Lens?
Hey Everyone,
I know that the use of a CP on an UWA lens will cause banding in the sky, but are they still effective at cutting reflections on water and harsh reflections on leaves, etc? Or should the Circular polarizes be left for not so wide lenses?
I'm thinking of lenses like the sigma 10-20mm or the Canon 10-22mm. VERY wide.
Thanks!

2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhere to get 9 or 10 stop ND filters in Canada?
Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows where I'd be able to purchase any 9 or 10 stop ND filters in Canada, I've found a couple in the US and in Hong Kong on Ebay; however I'd much prefer to buy from Canada.
I was looking at the Hoya ND400 or the B+W 3.0 filters, but I couldn't found any here.
I'm looking for a 77mm thread size.
Any help would eb greatly appreciated!
2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoLens repair question?
Hi Everyone,
I currently have a broken Tamron 60mm f/2 macro lens. I didn't damage it (It must somehow be damaged, but I didn't drop it, bang it, etc), but for some reason the focus ring is no longer functional. When I turn the focus ring it spins freely, not changing the focus or the distance scale. Autofocus doesn't work, neither does manual. Luckily, though, the electronics and everything else are fine.
I think its a broken gear or something that connects the focus ring/ focus mechanism to the lens elements.
If anyone has some insight on the problem, and potential cost to repair, I'd really appreciate it. I'd sent it into warranty repair, but it's warranty is with MackCam, not with Tamron and I'd prefer not to unless its an expensive repair.
Thanks!

5 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoHave You Heard The Word?
It's been posted on most popular camera-related sites, like Deviantart, Adorama, Flickr and some others.
It has been proposed that 'Digital Single Lens Reflex', or 'DSLR' is now to be simply 'SLR', while the niche Film single lens reflex cameras, formerly know as 'SLR' are to be called 'FSLR'. These sites are trying to get people to start using these terms so as to move on in technological terms, anbd to save people a letter.
7 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhat Is YOUR favourite type of Photography to do?
Like Macro, landscape, portraiture, fashion, astrophotography, birding, etc.
Personally, my favorite is macro, though if I had a super wide angle lens, I'd really get into landscape I think!
Post your favorite, if you want to post some examples or share some pictures supporting your answer, go ahead!

3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoCan you back up data onto a second internal hard drive?
Hi Everyone,
I'm taking my computer in to get fixed (I believe there is an issue with the built in card reader that causes a blue screen on shut down) so I need a way to backup my stuff. I have about 300gb worth of various things on my hard drive. I want to back it up onto my second internal hard drive, which is 500gb. I was wondering if I can do that? Only because I think there might be an issue, in that if I lose all my files and have to restore them, when I put in the second internal hard drive with the files, it would have to be reformatted and all data would be lost. Would this happen, or no? Should I remove the second internal hard drive once the files ave been copied to it, or leave it in that whole operation?
Thanks everyone!
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoNew Videos Card Drivers Stop Games From Starting?
Hey Everyone.
I recently purchase Battlefield Bad company 2 and It suffers from severe artifacting (strange colours flickering over 2/3rds of the screen). I've tried reinstalling the game and a few other things, but it seems that updating your video card drivers has solved this problem for many others, so I tried.
I went to the Nvidia website to download the newest drivers for my card (gtx 285). All was going smoothly until the actual installation part... After installing the new drivers, my card (in the device manager) registered the new drivers just fine. The only problem is that NONE of my games launch anymore. I try to launch Crysis and it says it's an unrecognized video card and if I use it, it may crash. I acknowledge the message and the process is aborted. Left 4 dead just doesn't launch, and the same with Bad Company 2.
I simply rollback the drivers and I'm back to my original predicament.
Nothing is overclocked, nor overheating at all. I'm really stumped here, I've never seen anyone else have issues installing drivers!
Thanks everyone!

Hey Everyone,
First time I've tried portrait photography. Except for one other time a few months ago.
These are more 'snapshots', as I didn't really plan them, rather just took them when someone coincidentally was suitable.
Harsh critique or opinions are very welcome!

3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoClose-up filter vs Macro lens Depth of Field?
Hey Everyone
I was wondering which would get more depth of field, or are they the same?
If I had a macro lens focused to 1:1 magnification would it have the same depth of field as the same macro lens with a closeup filter at the same magnification (both setups would have the same field of view)?
How about extension tubes?
Thanks in advance!
