I have sharp pain in the lower middle of my back. Could it be kidney related?
I awoke this morning with an acute, sharp pain in my lower back, mostly to the left of my spinal cord. I had fallen asleep on the couch, which is common; I thought it was just a bad position, but as the day has progressed, the pain has gotten worse. Also, I urinated a small amount in my jeans during my sleep (which never happens), and I had an extremely full bladder and had to urinate badly when I awoke. I didn't drink an above average amount yesterday. I'm afraid to waste my time on a rushed doctor's visit, but I'm afraid that letting it go could result in serious repurcussions. The pain is extremely sharp when someone presses down on the area. I don't have a fever or chills, although the pain is making me somewhat light-headed as the days goes on.
Any advice from you medical pros before I rush to the ER?
