"Why not let people differ about their answers to the great mysteries of the Universe? Let each seek one's own way to the highest, to one's own sense of supreme loyalty in life, one's ideal of life. Let each philosophy, each world-view bring forth its truth and beauty to a larger perspective, that people may grow in vision, stature and dedication." -Algernon Black

  • What do Republicans have against the working class?

I've always wondered about that..seriously, what's the reasoning behind it? I have my theories but I'm open to see what you guys think...

  • Attn: Republicans- If McCain was President, would you be bashing him?

for not paying his property Taxes for 4 straight years?

Would you be bashing "The McCain administration" because Palin did not pay taxes on over 60,000 dollars of travel reimbursements she charged Alaska for?

How soon we forget...If McCain had won...I wonder if this Tax crap would be a big deal to you then.

Would your President and Vice President be Crooks?

  • So the Republicans think that Obama's Stimulus Package has too much spending and not enough tax cuts?

So where were they when Bush spent this country into the ground?

They want to go against spending NOW? Why?

His plan does not have "excessive spending" (nothing compared to Bush's spending and "insufficient tax cuts"? Why because only the middle class are getting the tax cuts. The rich don't need them.

    Seriously, what is their problem?

    Can anyone explain it?

  • Why is it ok for Rush to want our President fail?

But when President Obama suggest to some Republicans that they may want to rethink listening to Rush, its a horrible thing?

When you want your President to fail in leading the country you live in, you basically want your country to fail.

President Obama was simply suggesting that some of his "colleagues" become more open minded and give this stimulus package a chance. What is wrong with that? It's no secret that Rush does infact STILL influence some republicans...Knowing that, the president was not afraid to address it.

    So again, what's the problem?

  • Was Roberts nervous or what?

    http://rawstory.com/news/2008/CNN_Roberts_screwed_...

What are your thoughts about how Roberts screwed up the oath?

Was it intentional or a honest mistake?

I mean, shouldn't a chief justice know the Oath of the president like the back of his hand?

Rather it was a petty attempt to make Obama look silly or not. i think Obama handled it smoothly.

  • What do the Neo-Cons know that Government Authorities don't?

1st they questioned the fact that Obama was vetted properly by the proper authorities.

And now they are trying to link Obama with Blagojevich, EVEN when the FBI and the US Attorney Fitzgerald said Obama is not linked.

What is it with you people?

  • Why wasn't Alaska called the most Corrupt during Ted Stevens trial?

I'm just wondering, because ALASKA is actually one of the most corrupt states. #3 to be exact.

IL is not even in the top 5 or the top 10. Could it be because Obama is from IL? Could it be that the Gov in IL is a Dem? I don't know.

Oh and I'm not giving a link. Maybe it will force some of you to do your own research instead of taking everything the Neo-Cons say as truth.

I will say this it's public record and #s don't lie.

  • Who knows what "Pay to Play" in Politics means?

I know it very well. It is done here in Philadelphia all the time. It is legal. Many cities and states do this in politics. It is not required that all politicians do this.

HOWEVER, many politicians Like the IL Gov..take it too far and use it as a way to make money for their personal benefit. That is the illegal part.

If i'm missing something, please let me know. I don't claim to know everything, all the time ;)

No, seriously. That is what i understood it to be. Anyone know different? Please share. Thanks.

  • Why is it that most of the folks that did not vote for Obama, are wanting him to fail b4 he even gets started?

In all honesty, those that didn't vote for Bush at all, the 1st and second time, gave him a chance. We basically didn't have a choice. But it puzzles me how here you have a man, Obama, that is demonstrating leadership in ways that no president elect has done in my life time. Putting together a A+ Cabinet so he can run his administration intelligently and effectively. And folks are wanting him to fail.

Do they not realize that he is working for them? President Obama is their President. Why would they want their president to fail in repairing America when it so desperately needs it?

I will dismiss all the false and ridiculous accusations of President Obama that are posted. "He's a muslim", "he's not a citizen". I'm looking for intelligent answers, please.

  • seriously, why are people still talking about Palin?

And why are people defending her? She put herself out there. Maybe she was forced. who knows but uh she did it to herself. Ok yeah it took guts to put yourself out there knowing you know didly..

Can we move on here..who cares, really. Personally, I think she should learn from this and focus on getting more knowledgeable about policy and the world outside of alaska. Maybe go back to school. And if she wants to run in 2012. Ok. But do we really care about what she Plans to do?

  • What did you think of McCain's Speech?

I believe McCain meant every word in his speech last night.

I did not hear it live..but reading it...man..I was truly moved by it. And for the first time in this election, McCain inspired me. Even though I disagree with his ideals, I've always respected him. But I gotta tell ya, after reading that speech, My respect for him went up a few notches. He's a good man.

  • Ok McCain supporters: One day before the election?

McCain has been campaigning just as long as Obama.

Can anyone tell me in detail how McCain is going to do anything different from Bush if he is elected? At least one..

  • For all of you that are still hung up on Obama's religion?

You do realize that we are not voting for the Pope right?

We are voting for the President of the United States of America.

Bush used that "christian" thing to get elected and look where it got us. He wasn't very christian like to lie about the War.

Obama is a christian, but that's not why I'm voting for him. It's All about the Issues. he's got the better solutions. Mccain has nothing.

  • Why couldn't Palin wear the same clothes she wore as Governor?

"She needed clothes at the time. They'll be donated at end of this campaign. They'll be donated to charity," McCain told reporters on his campaign bus between Florida rallies.

    Ummm..What?

  • Why doesn't Palin Know what a Vice President's Role is?

"A vice president has a really great job because not only are they there to support the president's agenda, they're there like the team member, the teammate to the president," Palin continued. “But also, they're in charge of the United States Senate, so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. And it's a great job and I look forward to having that job.”

The VP has 2 primary roles 1 to be president if something were to happen to the President and 2 serves as the President of the Senate, and may break tie votes in that chamber. He or she may be assigned additional duties by the president but, as the Constitution assigns no executive powers to the vice president, in performing such duties he or she acts only as an agent of the president.

Of course, the VP also advices the president. But they certainly do not have any legislative power.

Does this bother any of you McCain supporters? The fact that she doesn't know what her role will be?
