  • Why direction is essential for momentum?

I know that momentum is the product of mass and velocity.

The velocity makes it a vector and gives it the direction.

But,basically momentum is used to express inertia when the body is in motion and that is because the force required to change its state(from motion to rest) not only depends on the mass but also on the velocity. So,only mass cannot explain inertia of a moving body and hence it is measured as momentum.

I think this is the concept please correct me if I am wrong.

If this is the concept then we can just take the magnitude of the velocity(P=m| v |).

Why are we including the direction too?

What is the use of doing that?

    Please explain.

I could view all his files.

I wanted to delete all the data on the memory card so I formatted.

It was taking too much time so I removed the battery.

    Formatting was incomplete.

When I switched on the mobile it was showing 'memory card corrupted, format the memory card'.

I did it completely this time but still It is showing the same message.

I want to recover it somehow, please help?

Is there any software to recover it?

I don't have memory card reader.

I have data cable and pc suit with me.

  • How did mathematicians arrive at the equation s=rθ?

I know arc length 's' depends on the radius of the circle 'r' and angle 'θ'.

But arc length will be directly proportional to the angle 'θ' when 'θ' is in radians only.

What logical analysis led them to define 1radian angle so that they could connect arc length with radius and angle subtended by the arc at the center of the circle?

Is it true that for the formula s=rθ,1/rad is the constant then?

  • A doubt on work? ....... ... ,..?

think that you are applying two mutually perpendicular forces on a particle.the particle displaces in direction between the direction of two forces i.e in direction of resultant of two forces.now work done should be product of resultant force and displacement but according to the theory it is product of horizontal force and displacement.why they have not considered vertical force.

  • Why isn't sky blue during night time?

During night times we will get moon light which is also white.

We know that white light contains 7 colors including blue.

According to rayleigh's scattering of light, sky should look blue as it gets scattered.

    But it doesn't happen so.

    Why?

  • A question on IQ....pls help?

I have seen many scientist having IQ less than common people.

But still those scientist got some brilliant ideas and common men didnt get any ideas to solve a particular issue even though they are interested.

Will this mean that iq scores cannot predict intelligence?

  • A doubt on physics.please help?

I was reading Einstein's explanation for photoelectric effect.

I encountered a doubt on that:

Einstein said that light is made up of particles called as quanta and this is responsible for photoelectric effect.

Well I don't have any doubt on his explanation to the phenomenon but my doubt is he took the energy of light quanta is E=hv,v is frequency.

Actually he said light is made of particles and instead of using the equation E=mc^2 he use E=hv which represents the energy of a wave.

This can mean Einstein already knew that light can behave both as particle and wave before Louis De Broglie told the world?

    Why -*-=+

    +*-=-

    -*+=-

    +*+=+???

Why cant it be in some other way like -*-=-,+*-=+,-*+=+,+*+=-??

What is the logic behind that assumption??

  • A doubt on matter waves!Physics?

In my text book they had found out the de broglie's wavelength of a particle moving with a speed of 1m/s and mass=1kg.

    The wavelenght L=h/mv,where h is a plank's constant.

The value of L calculated was of the order 10^-34.

Now, my doubt is calculate the frequency of the body moving with that speed.

We know that v=fL where f is frequency.

Therefore f=v/L=1/10^-34(I took L=10^-34 to make calculation easier).

    From this we get f=10^34.

Text book says wavelength is insignificant because of small magnitude of wavelength.Hence it behaves like a particle and wave nature can almost be neglected.

As f=10^34 this value is very high.

As you all know frequency describes wave nature and it does not describe particle nature and the value of frequency is high hence we can say that it behaves more like a wave?

  • Maths question!! help?

    log 1=0

    log i^4=0(i=sqrt(-1)

    4log i=0

4log i can be equal to zero only when log i=0

(Please dont say that I must not take it as 4log i but it should be log i^4 and then solve.)

    i.e i=1

I know this cannot be true. But how is this wrong??
