  • Just gotta ask: Why do hockey fans (and hockey players) think fights are a natural part of the game?

Seriously, can't the refs or the league office monitor the action? I heard some idiot talk show host say that you have to fight in hockey to keep your stars safe? Really? So who fought for Michael Jordan? Look in every other sport fighting gets you kicked out of the game and probably suspended for a game or two. A 5-minute penalty is no punishment. Hey, I get to fight two more times before I get kicked out! Let's do it again. Who cares if it's mutual?

Seriously, I just don't get it.

  • How long does it take for alcohol to leave breastmilk?

OK, so my wife and I haven't had sex in forever (once since November 2007. Twice if you count non-intercourse. Yes. I am a saint--as long as porn doesn't count). I want to take her out, get her drunk and then do all the things I used to do to her before we got married. She won't drink because she's breastfeeding. I say use formula for a day or two until the alcohol leaves my wife's system? (She can pump and throw the bad milk out, right?) Alcohol doesn't stay in the system THAT long does it?

  • Hypothetical situation: A man is married but has a female friend who he flirts with...?

They met on the internet and have been talking for four years. They''ve met, hugged and he slept on her couch. They haven't done anything even though they keep saying they are going to. She talks about her problem with men, her kids and they do talk about sex. But for some reason they have never taken that step. They haven't even kissed even though there has been plenty of opportunities.

His wife wouldn't be happy about it, but he really like this woman as a friend. Would you married women still be threatened by her even if any threats of cheating are gone away?

  • Why the focus on the Williams' sisters outside interests?

Seriously, tennis is an individual sport. Why are people upset that the Williams sisters are trying to explore other options and businesses? I mean, I'd think the other players want them to place their focus elsewhere. I mean, even with a split focus only Justine henin has found a way to take out an uninjured Serena and everyone saw last night that an unfocused Venus is still laying waste to top 10 opponents. So why do you care that they are involved with other things? I agree, their potential is unmatched on the tour, but isn't it smarter of them to work on secondary pursuits now rather than waiting until their tennis careers are over?

  • Why do women think they "need" a man and are willing to put up with BS and do stupid mess to find one?

Makes me sick really. Find someone you want to be with, don't just settle because you "need" a man. Desperate women is the reason men know they can cheat, beat women and do other stupid mess.

  • How do I raise a strong daughter?

I don't want my daughter to be a scared woman. Meaning, I don't want her to be afraid of spiders. I want her to be able to punch a man in his mouth if he ever lays hands on her. I want her to expect a certain level of treatment from men in her life. I don;t want her in the kitchen while the men are outside discussing "important stuff." But she has a mother who won't take out the trash, is scared of everything manmade. How do I counter that influence?

  • What's so wrong with what Serena said after the match with Henin?

    http://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/interviews/2007-0...

"Q. You fought pretty hard to get back into the first set. She played a good tiebreak. Second set, your level seemed to drop.

SERENA: No, I just think she played better. I just think she made a lot of lucky shots, and I made a lot of errors. I don't think my level dropped.

    Q. Isn't it making errors when your level drops?

SERENA: I guess it is in a way, maybe my level did drop. I definitely made a lot of errors. I think she just played a little bit more aggressive and started hitting really, really hard balls."

"Q. Did she play as strong tonight as she ever has in previous times you faced her?

SERENA: Yeah, she played real strong tonight. "

"Q. You've said you feel very strongly that when you're playing your best you can beat anybody in the world. Has this match done anything to change that feeling or do you still feel that way?

SERENA: Do you think I played my best?

    Q. No, I don't."

  • Let's do it again: When will Bush stop lying about the link between Iraq and 9-11?

He did it again today at his news conference. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/stor...

Can some conservative hacks out there please tell me why our president continues this lie? I mean, it's been disproven time and time and time again, yet we keep hearing the same thing. What is wrong with this administration? What is wrong with the American people that we haven't demanded his removal from office? He is lying about the reasons we are sending our troops to DIE. To DIE! He's not lying about who gave him a hummer in the Oval Office. He is lying about the reaons we are killing Iraqis and seding our soldiers to DIE.

    Damn he ticks me off!

And we are going to have this argument until one of you conservative hacks can give me a legitimate reason based on truth and fact and not simply regurgitating the lies being fed out of the White House.

  • If amnesty, what price should people who came to the US illegally pay?

If we are going to allow 12 million people who entered the country illegally to stay, essentially rewarding them for breaking the law, what should be the price they have to pay? I am not for deporting people, but I feel bad for people who are trying to get in here by following the law. What is the appropriate punishment for those 12 million?

  • Break the law get rewarded? Follow the law, get punished? (No conservative hacks please.)?

I am truly conflicted about the immigration debate. I don't care who lives in the United States, in fact, the more the merrier, but I am very, very concerned about fairness and following the law. So why is it OK to break the law to come to the U.S.? And why should people who are already in the country illegally get amnesty while there are hundreds of thousands of people trying to get in legally who would be disadvantaged? In effect, those who broke the law are rewarded for their behavior while those who follow the law get punished.

Please, only people who favor liberal immigration policies. No conservative, right-wing knee jerks.

  • Was Jimmy Carter really so bad as president? (Economics)?

Carter gets blamed for a lot, but the economic problems predated Carter. The oil shocks began in 1973 when OPEC decided to stop sending oil to the US because it supported Israel. Then OPEC jacked up oil prices by 400%. This led to rationing and lines, which ended by 1976.

Nixon also screwed up because he contracted the money supply by having the Federal Reserve raise interest rates, enacted price and wage controls and a short time later reversed himself and goes to an expansionary monetary policy, which jacked up prices across the board. Nixon ended the dollar conversion to gold which lowered the value of the dollar.

Carter inherited an economy where inflation had been rising since 1965. He appointed Paul Volcker as chair of the Fed, who is actually responsible for bringing inflation down. It just took him until 1982 to get it done. Reagan was just going along for the ride.

  • Why do people mock Jimmy Carter?

Jimmy carter gets mocked because he said he "lusted in his heart" but remained faithful to his wife. Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Rudy Guiliani, Anotnio Villaraigosa, Gavin Newsome etc. have all cheated and switched spouses like it the thing to do. Yet we ridicule the politician who was honest about temptation. What is wrong with Americans? We get in a tizzy over adulterers, but fry the man who actually respects his marriage?
