  • every days a bad hair day?

I moved to Ohio from California three days ago, and my hair has been a disaster. Typically i'm not a crazy hair fanatic, but in California's weather your hair stays however you want it. In Ohio's humidity and weather, i can do my hair, walk out of the bathroom, and in 5 minutes it will be curly, frizzy, and a mess. If anyone has any tips at all, on shampoo's, conditioners, products, anything...please help me out haha. Thank you so much.

  • could an Argentino dogo have a spot?

Is it possible for a dogo to have a brindle spot on their back? I rescued a dog a few years ago, and was told he is an American Bulldog. I already have an American Bulldog that does not look or act anything like Dino (the dog we rescued.) He has the exact features and attitude of a dogo, except for the brindle spot on his back. If anyone has any info on that i would really appreciate it. Thank you :)

  • how can i get my horse to stand still?

I've had a 13 year old thoroughbred/morgan gelding for a couple months now. I have him in a pretty big pasture now, so all his energy isn't confined to a stall. He is a pretty good trail horse, but i have a few problems with him. For one, he won't stand still. If i'm riding him, leading him, or he's simply hitched and being saddled, he won't stand still for more than a minute max. I've tried a million different things and nothing seems to work for him. Also, because he doesn't stand still, it is a ridiculous process to mount. He will spin circles and circles around me, and on a trail ride if i have to get off of him for any reason, it's taken up to a half hour to get back on. Other than that he is a great horse, i have a lot of fun with him, but those issues can make a lot of challenges both on and off him. Thanks for your help

  • How much does it cost to feed a horse monthly?

Just counting the hay, how much would it cost to feed one horse per month? Also, would it be cheaper to just buy hay cubes? I've heard that could be better for the horse. Thanks!

  • slight navicular change?

ok so I have like 3 questions open right now, but I'm getting my first horse and there's a lot to ask. I've been searching to by a horse every day for at least 5 months. I finally found an incredible horse, I'm completley in love with him and want to buy him, but he happens to be the only horse I looked at with something wrong with him. He has slight navicular change in his front legs. The man says that it only bothers him after long trail rides (over 2 hours) and he just gives him Bute and he's fine. Also if he stands for long time he gets stiff. Judging from that, how many years do you think I would have on him? They said 10 or more. He's 10 now.

    thnx

  • Animal control on horse?

I started working at a ranch over a year ago. Shortly after I started working there the owner of the ranch (who I don't like at all) talked me into leasing a horse that had been neglected before I got there for 3 years! I dont know how the owner alowed this. They payed for the board (which includes feed) but they left her in a stall for 2 years without ever getting out once.

By the time I got to her she was at least 200 punds underweight. Flabby in her chest and legs. Bad hooves. Couldn't lift her legs.

I had never owned a horse and barely even riden a horse, but I started leasing her out of pitty. To make a long story short.

I leased her for a year. I got her to the perfect size, gained her muscle, made her happy. But due to the fact that she was neglected for two years (and had an abusive trainer before hand) she was an extremely difficult horse, that I had no experience taking care of. So at the begining of this month I had to end the lease, because it was getting to

  • Paint horse help?

I'm looking to buy a new horse, and I really wan't a paint horse. I heard from some people that I shouldn't get a paint horse because I live in so cal and they get sun burned on their faces. I was wondering if it would be ok to get one if I found one that had a solid face? And also, what could I use to help prevent sunburn?

    thanks in advance :)

  • How much should I spend on this horse??

    Hello!

I have been leasing a 10 year old Quarter Horse for about a year, and I feel ready to buy her, but I think her owners are asking far to much!

She has a decent background, and has won champion of show in western pleasure. HOWEVER. Her owners abandoned her for three years at a ranch, leaving her 100 pounds underweight, and completly out of shape. It took effort for her to just lift her legs.

She rears when saddled. Doesn't switch gaits smoothly, or easily. Doesn't listen to voice commands, or pressure. Is extremly stuborn. Pins her ears when you touch her during feeding. Rears and bucks if you keep her standing for to long. The list goes on!!

Somehow I've managed to fall in love with her though. She has learned to respect me, and I think we've come to an understanding. But I think that after what I've listed, it's plain to see she's not worth $2,000!!! How much do you think a horse of her skill level is worth?? Thank you!!
