  • Spark gap transmitter/telegraph machine- spark gap?

Out of what materials can I make a spark gap? I am trying to make a Spark Gap Transmitter for Morse code- I have already made a very rudimentary telegraph using copper wire, sheet metal, 2 D batteries, and an iron nail (coiling insulated wire around it). It's range was about 1 foot (LOL). I digress. What materials can I use for the spark gap?

  • HTML/CSS: My navbar (inline) is sticking out of the wrapper div.?

I have an inline topnav navigation bar which is arranged using the div code, within it an unordered list, each list item containing a URL. Within the CSS is the code which arranges the list items inline- its a horizontle navigation. But the section of the navbar is protruding from the main container div by about 50px, even set to "width: 100%". You'd think it would line up with everything else. Also, above and below the nav bar div is about 30 pixels of blank space.

  • Tobacco laws in Colorado?

What are the laws in Colorado regarding the possession of Tobacco products. I understand the laws pertaining to the purchasing of Tobacco, but the use/possession of it I am not clear on. I understand there at one point there was a loophole which allowed the possession of it under 18, but I am not sure if that loophole has been covered or not.

  • What is wrong with my wireless adaptor?

I moved my windows 7 desktop to another room and it started having issues (wouldn't go to the sign in screen). So I wiped it to factory state with recovery mode. Now, with the wireless adaptor that has always worked, it says the drivers installed but it picks up no networks and windows says "it is having hardware/driver issues". I thought the driver was installed, I ran the CD, and it working would be too easy. I'm not calling those indians on Qwest technical support, and I can't get the driver via the internet for obvious reasons.

  • Windows 7 will not boot properly.?

It goes to a system repair screen. Sometimes I leave it go, I come back and the computer is off. Sometimes it leads me to a system restore screen. I try that. It always ends with System Restore has failed. Sometimes I try system restore by hitting F11 before it passes the boot screen. Now matter what I do though, it will not go to the sign in screen.

  • What system process doesn't belong?

Hello children, and welcome to the game show where I show you a list of system processes and you tell me what one doesn't belong.

But really. I keephearing this background bullshit that I'm pretty sure is exactly the armor games sword-clanking theme, but I can't find the source. Before this started happening it started saying I have infected files. I don't feel like doing a system restore. So, what process shall we kill.

And the link where the picture is is in a forums elsewhere http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1215579

  • Why won't my modem connect to the internet?

I have two perfectly good and identicle DSL modems. One has been working fine for a year now. I put a splitter on the phone line to that modem and ran one phone cord into another room for a second modem. When I plug that modem in and turn it on, both modems disconnect from the internet, as if its too much for the cord to handle. What is my problem?

  • What type of degree do I need to be a Web Designer or Webmaster?

Those are two options I want to consider as a career. I already dabble in web design on an amatuer scale, but what degree would help me the most. I assume a bachelors degree would be the best here, and I would think in the long run your portfolio is the most important part.

  • Who funds space shuttle launches with satallites for communications?

Who funds space shuttles? It seems like it's more of a commercial thing with satallites, but I dont think a corporation could fully fund a space shuttle. Who funds these projects?

  • Do I have too many devices connected to my router?

I have DSL internet service provided by Qwest. We have a Linksys Router (the router type probably doesn't matter too much). My internets been always very finicky, especially after I got my Xbox Live working again. On the router are two hard-wired computers, two wirelessly connect computers, and an Xbox 360. Is this too much work load for a typical DSL service and/or our Linksys WRT54G router?

  • Flash CS4: (applies to CS3) Bad voice audio upon export. Fuzzy on loud parts.?

I have a voice I recorded on my microphone- imported it into Flash CS4, put it in it's own layer on stream setting, and synced it up with the mouth of the character. In the flash editor, the audio is crystal clear. On export, it's fuzzy and low quality. I messed with the Publish settings (ctrl+shift+F12) and still terrible. How can i fix this?

  • I heard an animal noise. It is nocturnal. Sounded like a cat.?

It sounded like a very large cat, too large to be a house-cat- but that is what it souded like. it's call was constant and as if it was very distressed. Like I said- very loud, high-pitched, sounded like the volume of a whining house-cat turned to max. If somone can help me identify it and possibly direct me to a sound file that might help, that would be great. Oh, and I live in Colorado, near Colorado springs- a rural area.
