Biology: An organism’s genome contains four pairs of chromosomes...?
An organism’s genome contains four pairs of chromosomes. Assuming that crossing over does not occur, how many unique gamete types can be produced in this organism? What is the probability that a gamete will contain all of the paternal chromosomes?
Can anyone give me a little help with this one? I've been through my text and my notes, and I'm still kind of stuck. Even a point in the right direction would be a big help.
2 AnswersBiology9 years agoReading a Voltmeter, relates to Chem?
I had to use a voltmeter in my chemistry class, and I'm just a little unsure about the readings I took. It was this meter, http://www.cyberpoet.net/ebay/centech.html, and it was set to 2000m under DCV. If an example reading was 973, is this in regular volts? Or is this in mV? Or something else? What about conversions? Can someone guide me in the right direction?
1 AnswerChemistry10 years agoIs it possible to get a burn from a watch?
Like the question says, I have a shiny, crinkly patch on my wrist, just about under where my watch sits. It's starting to sting like a burn would, and really looks like a burn would.
For clarification, it's a Seiko. I've never had anything like this happen before, and never experienced any irritation stemming from my watch use. I've been wearing this watch for months now, after my last watch, a digital, broke.
Am I right, or am I wrong? Can anyone explain this to me?
1 AnswerInjuries1 decade agoNeed help finding a horror anthology?
It's a collection of horror short stories. I think it was aimed at teens. I know I read it in 2001/2002, so it was either published then, or before that year.
I know one short story that was definitely in it. A Toy for Juliette, by R. Bloch. I don't really remember others, though I think there was a story about a mansion and a werewolf, and maybe another story about two sisters.
I think a lot of the stories focused on girls, maybe the entire anthology. I think it had a purple cover.
I hope someone can help me put a name to this anthology. Thanks.
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoSurvey on Manga for Eng. 102 Research Paper?
I’m writing a research paper on manga for my English 102 class. I’m focusing on the elements of literature in manga; things like themes, plot, characters etc. I want to possibly include demographics about people read manga, and why they find it so interesting.
I devised this survey to help me get a good look at some important aspects. All of the information is relevant, so please fill this out to the best of your ability. The age and sex questions are optional, because I know some people don’t like to give out that info on the net. However, those questions are important and I do need some answers.
Remember, this is a survey about manga reading habits, and not about anime! Thanks!
Age (op.)?
Sex (op.)?
When did you first start reading manga?
Were you introduced to anime or manga first?
How often do you read manga?
Do you prefer shonen, or shojo?
What is your preferred genre (action, drama, comedy, etc.)?
What is your favorite manga series?
9 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoCan someone help me recognize this manga?
I was at a Borders ages ago, and was browsing through the graphic novel/manga section, when I picked up something that went kind of like this, if I remember correctly:
An orphan lives in an amusement park, or something like that. I think an old guy lived there too. There's a female character as well. Of course, strange stuff starts happening, and I think the kid is either special, or has special powers.
With this vague summary can anyone help me?
Best Answer to anyone who can give me the correct title. Big plus for author, and any other info I can use to recognize the title. Been over a year since I glanced through it.
