Looking for names of a few old games?
I am looking for the names of several old games I used to play when I was younger. All of these should be from the early 2000's, possibly late 90's.
1)
The game starts on a flying island (I think the world was broken into pieces or something like that). There was a ghost of a fallen warrior (or something like that), and you'd build towers to defend yourself from attackers, after that you'd be flying through a tight passage (and that's all that I remember, I sucked and never made it past that stage). Also, apparently there was some kind of safe on the island that you could get additional towers from, don't remember how exactly that worked. I believe the towers were called artifacts or something.
2) An adventure game. I remember the character being a librarian or an office worker, something along those lines. You had a spider that would help you. At the beginning, you have to grab a treasure map and escape from your work place by setting of a fire alarm, after that you go to a light house. There was also some woman character involved, though I don't remember what exactly her story was.
3)
The last one was about some boy whose dog was kidnapped during an eclipse... or something. You then follow with a plane(?) and a laser gun(?). I think there was a point where you'd be killed by the shadows of objects rather than the objects themselves. Also, you lose the gun after the first level I think. Kinda reminded me of commander keen, but newer.

This is more about the general steps to solve them, I already know the solution:
I am given an inequality (3a-1)/(2a+2)>1 that I'm supposed to solve.
Excluding a=-1, there are two cases we have to consider here:
I: a>-1
3a - 1 > 2a + 2
3a > 2a + 3
a > 3
So L1 = {a e R , a>3}
The second one is where I have troubles:
II: a<-1
3a - 1 < 2a + 2
3a < 2a + 3
a < 3
L2 = {a e R, a<3}
-- this is obviously wrong, I should get a<-1 here. I don't know what I did wrong, but it's probably something horribly stupid - it's been a while since I left school and I'm quite frankly out of practice.
