  • What does it mean when I did a t test and the value is larger than the critical value?

    t=2.242

    and the critical value = about 1.66

    N= 112

    r=.209

    please help me understand this!

  • How to prove a statistics project?

    I'm trying to prove that students who get more sleep get better grades.

    I did found the equation for the line of best fit as well as r and r^2. I found outliers, standard deviation, mean median and mode, chi squared.

    what else do I need to prove my hypothesis?

    and my chi squared turned out to be higher than the critical value, so is that enough to say that my hypotheisis is wrong? i'm confused because there is some relationship between the two variables because of the correlation coefficient.

  • Should I buy a new GPS or get it on my cell phone?

    I'm going off to college in Baltimore in a month and I will have a car, but I won't know how to get anywhere. Would it be a better investment to get a new GPS or just get it on my cell phone for $10 a month? I have a samsung propell from att http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cel...

    the thing I would be worried about with the cell phone is that the screen is a lot smaller than a gps BUT it has live traffic

    what are your recommendations?

    also I am a college student, so please be cheap :)

    also I hear that baltiomre has a lot of traffic so i really need the how to avoid traffic option

    thank you!!!!

  • Help with how long I should leave my hair dye in!?

    I just bought http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_en/default.aspx...

    that color (medium blonde) and I did a test piece but i cant tell the difference between my normal hair and the test piece.

    i have naturally blonde hair (honey color i guess) and i dyed it brown (silly of me right?) in november

    So now I have roots and I want to dye it blonde! I know i'll never match my normal hair color but I just want to have it blonde and then in the summer it will get lighter like it normally does in the summmer

    the directions say to leave it in for 30 minutes. Should I leave it in longer so it will stay in better? and my hair is in perfectly good contition so I don't have to worry about damaging it

    thanks =)

  • How to solve this friction physics problem? please help!?

    I honestly have NO idea how to do this! please help!

    A 2.00 multiplied by 102 N force is pulling an 75.0 kg refrigerator across a horizontal surface. The force acts at an angle of 16.0° above the surface. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.200, and the refrigerator moves a distance of 9.00 m.

    (a) Find the work done by the pulling force.

    (b) Find the work done by the kinetic frictional force.

  • Help with a tension problem? I got half of it but i still need help.?

    A 9.5 kg monkey is hanging by one arm from a branch and is swinging on a vertical circle. As an approximation, assume a radial distance of 90 cm between the branch and the point where the monkey's mass is located. As the monkey swings through the lowest point on the circle, it has a speed of 3.1 m/s.

    Find the magnitude of the centripetal force acting on the monkey

    The answer for that part is 101.439

    i need help on this part:

    Find the magnitude of the tension in the monkey's arm.

    thanks!

  • How do I slove this physics friction problem?

    A 66.0 kg crate rests on a level floor at a shipping dock. The coefficients of static and kinetic friction are 0.750 and 0.490, respectively.

    What horizontal pushing force is required to just start the crate moving?

    What horizontal pushing force is required to slide the crate across the dock at a constant speed?

  • Physics question! Help with how to find force.?

    please help! thank you!

    A 64.0 kg person jumps from rest off a 8.0 m high tower straight down into the water. Neglect air resistance during the descent. She comes to rest 3.00 m under the surface of the water. Determine the magnitude of the average force that the water exerts on the diver. This force is nonconservative.

  • Physics help! How to calculate hang time?

    Here is a question on my homework and I can't figure it out!

    Please help me!

    The punter on a football team tries to kick a football so that it stays in the air for a long "hang time." If the ball is kicked with an initial velocity of 24.4 m/s at an angle of 57.5° above the ground, what is the "hang time"?

    thanks!

  • Getting into a college, aunt is a professor, will that help?

    I was deferred (I applied early, and now I am mixed in with the regular admissions) from my favorite college. My aunt is a professor there and asked her to do something/ help me get in.

    Alot of people from my high school are applying there and I think that is why I got deferred because my ACT scores are in the range.

    How much do you think that my aunt will help me out get accepted?

    What else can I do to make me stand out?

  • Please help with physics gravity problems!?

    Help with physics gravity problems! please help?

    I'm not sure how to do them, I'm still working on them though. Could you please help and show the work so i'll be able to understand it

    thank you so much!

    A rock of mass 40 kg accidentally breaks loose from the edge of a cliff and falls straight down. The magnitude of the air resistance that opposes its downward motion is 228 N. What is the magnitude of the acceleration of the rock?

    The drawing (not to scale) shows one alignment of the sun, earth, and moon. The gravitational force FSM that the sun exerts on the moon is perpendicular to the force FEM that the earth exerts on the moon. The masses are: mass of the sun = 1.99 multiplied by 1030 kg, the mass of earth = 5.98 multiplied by 1024 kg, mass of moon = 7.35 multiplied by 1022 kg. The distances shown in the drawing are rSM = 1.50 multiplied by 1011 m and rEM = 3.85 multiplied by 108 m. Determine the magnitude of the net gravitational force on the moon.

    Four 8.5 kg spheres are located at the corners of a square of side 0.80 m. Calculate the magnitude and direction of the gravitational force on one sphere due to the other three.

    Thank you!!!!!

  • What are some tips on running outside in the cold winter?

    There is a track about a mile away from where I live. I am trying to save money by not joining a gym in the winter like I normally do. I want to start running outside but i think I have asthma (self diagnosed, but i'm not a hypochondriac and im going to the doctor in a month and I'll ask him about it)

    What are some tips for running outside in the cold? What should I wear and such. How should I warm up and stretch?

    And is there anything that I can do to prevent me from having trouble breathing? I am relatively in shape, I first noticed that I might have asthma over the summer when I was hiking near MT Washington, where I go every summer and my body wasn't tired but my lungs felt really tight and I couldn't take deep breaths, i also had to stop every 5 minutes to breath. When I ran in the summer I didn't really have a problem with breathing until the 3th mile but now in the cold i feel it by the 2nd lap.

I keep finding things like HOLGA PINHOLE and HOLGA FISHEYE HOLGA BLACK CORNERS on websites (like b&h and ebay). Do I have to pick which one I want or do they all have difrerent settings? or lenses?

    helpppp

    also are they really worth it? I am either going to buy a new lens for my film canon or buy a holga
