  • High rate of wireless CRC errors?

My wireless network receives a ridiculous amount of CRC errors, most stats, signal strength, noise-signal ratio etc are all mediocre to good.

What puzzles me is that it is flooded constantly with "frames receives with CRC error".

    Typical stats are as follows:

    -Frames received successfully: 79595

-Frames received with CRC error: 2496324

However you perceive it, those aren't good ratios. The internet works fine, I have a fairly low average ping.

The problem arises when there is heavy use of the network, I believe it cannot keep up with all the data loss and it literally grinds down to a standstill. Apart from that, it gives me a highly fluctuating ping when the load is high which makes gaming and other ping reliant activities really annoying.

I have ruled out wireless interference with other networks, since there are none other with a channel within 5 of mine. I doubt reflection of metal (although a contributing factor) is the main cause.

One curious thing is that I still receive tonnes of CRC packets even when I am not using any obvious internet resources. I am not sure what may be causing this.

If anyone has any explanations beyond the obvious, or any recommendations on what to do, I would be very grateful.

  • What is the Montreux jazz scene like?

In a few years time I am considering living in Montreux. Now it is well known for its jazz festival, but what is the jazz scene like the rest of the year? ...say compared to other city centres, including London, New Orleans, New York etc?

  • Why are household cats to timid?

Now household cats are obviously bred from wild cats which are extremely shy and quick to flee at the sight of danger.

Why is this so? - I thought cats were at the top of the food chain (at least in the UK), I can't think of anything that would have hunted them, perhaps wolves (back in the day)?

  • Why don't more girls have short hair?

    http://gimps.de/pictures/albums/userpics/10001/sho...

    http://www.aaa-fashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2009...

It looks so hot! ...so my question is "why not"? Do you think it makes you look masculine, undesirable?

Lastly, do you generally have long hair to either impress the guys, or to "fit in" with the girls?

  • What music to play when I invite girls back?

What do girls like to hear?

I am into bluesy riffy hard rock, which is a bit of a mood killer at the best of times, and most girls I know don't like it anyway. At the same time I wouldn't touch anything as generic and cliché as Coldplay or slow mood songs like that.

Something fairly neutral, danceable that sounds nice really.

  • Is it prick-ish to have one night stands with randomers?

I am 20 years old, living in the UK at University of Wales, Swansea. I would say I am physically very attractive, albeit slightly gawky and slightly lacking in confidence in cliche situations.

My question is this: Is it bad to be a player? - taking a random girl from a club home for sex.

I have never actually done this, due partly to a ongoing conflict in my mind on whether it is acceptable (to the girl, STIs, bailing on my mates n' all); and also because I am not entirely sure the natural progression. Which leads onto another sub-question, how does one do this?

    Lets take a hypothetical situation:

You are dancing in a club, asked the usual boring introductory questions "name, where you staying.. etc etc". Gotten a little flirty, compliment, perhaps kiss a bit.

    What happens now players?

-Quick grope in the club followed by rushing to a taxi?

-Carry on dancing, flirting, kissing and most likely not getting any?

What do you say anyway, tilting head, lifting the eyebrows followed by some cheesy "Want some more" etc?

    Thoughts and ideas welcome!
