My computer loses certain programs after it shuts down.?
I have a Windows Vista. Lately, when I download certain programs, I have to reinstall them after I reboot my computer because they all but disappear from my computer. Sid Meier's Civilization IV, for example, or even Yahoo Messenger. Both of these files remain in the programs list, but when their shortcuts are clicked they claim to lead to programs that can't be found, as if I uninstalled them, which I did not. Also, their little icons disappear and are replaced with a gray box. I figure that's relevant cause it always happens. I can reinstall them, but I don't see why I should have to. They should just stay on the damn computer. Any ideas of why this is happening?
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoI keep getting a fatal error during my Itunes Installation.?
My Itunes updated about a week ago, version 9 or something, whatever the most current one is. Since then I haven't been able to open itunes. Windows tries to configure it, it takes like three minutes to install or whatever, and then a fatal error occurs and nothing gets done. I tried repair twice and it didn't work. Am I going to have to completely reinstall Itunes to access it again?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoCan someone explain Coldplay to me?
I mean, I can't figure out if they're good or bad, or if it really is just a matter of opinion all around. When it comes to their music, I don't hate it. It doesn't drive me nuts, I wouldn't buy an album, but I wouldn't turn it off the radio. Hey, I can officially say I like "Talk". That's about it though.
I hear their stuff a lot on TV...Shows seem to be using their songs to convey feelings of soft, epic drama. It works, kinda. But it feels pretentious.
When it comes to the BAND MEMBERS, that's where I know I have problems. I saw a live performance from them on Saturday Night Live. I hated it. I mean, Chris Martin was hopping around the stage like he had to pee, and not in a cool way. Plus he made all these weird little motions, and jumped off of the stage and was all out of breath, it was embarrassing. Plus, it was near election night, and he literally said "Barack Obama" into the mic after a song, like out of nowhere. I like Obama and all, but it annoyed me. Not to mention that they performed THREE TIMES instead of two, but whatever. I don't dig the outfits, they dress like faded, colorful, ragamuffins in a marching band. All of the members are scruffy, pale, and no pun intended, cold looking. The drummer wasn't even playing an actual drum kit during the performance, he was just banging on props and such. Last but not least, in my research I found out that Chris Martin is married to Gwyneth Paltrow, and they have a daughter named Apple and a son named Moses, and any parents that do that ought to be sent to court like those crazy New Zealanders that named their poor daughter Talula Does The Hula In Hawaii.
Now, I'm no professional music reviewer, I like the Killers and I know how pomp filled and pretentious they can be and almost always are, but I still like them. I read an article about Coldplay in a magazine I can't remember, and it was about how there is a group of musicians who absolutely DETEST Coldplay, calling them the worst band in ages. The whole tone of the article made fun of the band as well. Yet from another reviewer (one who hated the Killers, incidentally), I heard praise for Coldplay.
On a final note, I've noticed that the younger members of my school have either no opinion on the band or don't like them at all, while some of the teachers in my school were willing to fail students out of their classes for insulting Coldplay.
So what's the deal, here? Are they good? Are they bad? Are they somewhere in between? Or is it ALL opinion based, yet again? And I'm not exactly insulting the band here, or at least that's not the purpose of this question. Don't feel like you have to come and defend the band, as I don't necessarily hate them, and am NOT trying to stir up flames. I just wanna know what the deal is.
