I'm considering buying a very much needed vehicle (do not have one at this time), with a very high interest rate..first purchase!

Haven't committed yet, but, the vehicle is "en route" as we speak. No monies exchanged yet. 60 plus contract.

In newer position at work, they have given great spiffs, so considering buying a home this year. Buyer's mart too! :-)

I know there is someone much more educated in this financial situation, more than I! Would really appreciate your advice.

A recruiter promises a job; does he get it or does he have to actually have to sign a contract before it's his permanent position? Also, can he be able to cross-train to another field and how long before he can do this?

My son just left for BMT at Lackland.. He was promised a job and seems elated to have given that position in the administrative field. He was told that he should take it and he agreed. He has great aspirations to be in the medical field, possibly a doctor someday. He does want to pursue his career in the Air Force until he retires, that's also his dream, to be a pilot, but failed his depth test. He said he hadn't had enough rest and that may have played a part, what's your opinion on this?

Will he be able to retest? You see, he has a few dreams........since we watched the Air Force Show HERE in NellisAFB when he was only 8 years old! He just turned 20.

Oh, btw, he didn't take his SAT or ACT tests, but he's very smart. Does he have to do this also?

One more question. At what point will he be able to come home prior to going where his job may be? I'm no worrier, although I am a warrior... :) He told me and his girl, that after his 8 1/2 weeks, he would come home for about a week, then he goes to his placement. I'm a bit confused, I've read different.

One more thing, please. I would like to know if there's any steps he needs to take (or know), to get into the right training..etc.; for the medical field and when. He scored above average scores on MAGE Test.

I would like to email any information he may need while he is finishing off his Zero Week (when he gets his time to read it, of course).

Just curious. AF' list to bring to basic training includes soap with plastic box container, but not anything to wash with. Do they furnish some sort of scrubbing item?
