"Please repeat" in French--tu form?
My friend is taking an intro college level French class, and I had a few years of it in high school. I know that "Repetez, s'il vous plait" is a way to ask someone to repeat something, but I want to use "tu" instead of vous. Can anyone give me the proper phrase?
2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoProbably just overlooking something in the manual, but...?
I recently got a Motorola/Tracfone prepaid cell phone. It originally would display the names from my phone book for my recent received and dialed calls. After I added an entry for an e-mail address for sending pictures, it stopped displaying names and shows only phone numbers in my lists of calls--even though I didn't removed anyone from my phone book. It's not a huge deal, but I would prefer to have the names (rather than the phone numbers) displayed. I've looked in my instruction booklet, but no dice. Can anyone help me?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoGuys in my male-dominated major: On or Off Limits?
I'm a female wrapping up my junior year of chemical engineering. I estimate that there are 5-6 guys for every girl based on my class demographics. Some of the guys are with girlfriends, so I won't consider them for possible flirting (I don't break up relationships). Some of the guys are unattached. I find several of the latter category attractive and we spend a lot of time together (late nights writing lab reports, in particular). Is it okay to show interest in any of the free guys when everyone is dying of exhaustion and can barely think straight on any given day, or should I keep my hands off (literally and figuratively) and settle for hoping to meet someone after graduation?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoNot engineering per se-- possible infatuation between 2 exhausted ChemEs?
I'm a female junior in chemical engineering and part of the curriculum is a 4-hr per week unit operations lab that requires the group to write several large (roughly 50-70 pg) technical reports. I get along well with one of the guys in particular. He always teases me about when things go wrong in lab (it's our joke that anything that ever goes wrong in unit ops is my fault) and if he makes a breakthrough, I'll pat him on the back--that sort of thing. We've spent a couple of nights together writing reports (like 16 hours at a stretch, not going home until 4 am) and it seems like he could be interested in me, but we could just be flirting because we're on no sleep. Another problem is that he's from out of state and I don't know if he has a girlfriend somewhere and I think it would be awkward to ask that out of the blue.
Does it sound like we could be clicking or are we just deliriously tired? We are in the process writing our last report together (due Tuesday), so time is of the essence!

2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHelp repairing/restoring an infected computer?
I have a 2-year old Windows laptop and I've always used Norton/Symantec Anti-Virus software with live updates as per required by my university in order to have access to the university ethernet. Tonight, for no apparent reason, I got a virus while online. I ran all my anti-virus/anti-spyware software and get messages that everything has been cleared/repaired, yet when I try to log on to my ethernet, I get rejected because "This computer is infected" by some sort of trojan/malware. I want to get my computer back up and online and I'm at a loss of what to do. Please help; I can't live in a computer lab for the rest of the semester!
1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoFriends? Attracted? Just Wants to Pass?
I'm a sophomore girl majoring in chemical engineering. Most of my classmates are male. I have a group of guys I get together with throughout the week to go over homework, go through test strategies, etc.
I know that at least one guy is happily with a girlfriend and so sees me as a friend.
There's another guy, Jay, who has never mentioned a girlfriend, but who seems to like me. He's even said, "I love you" in the context of me explaining a difficult problem or letting him copy part of a homework problem.
Do you think Jay could be attracted to me, just sees me as a friend, or just doesn't want to flunk out of our major?
Jay sits by me in lectures for 3 classes. He talks to me about his job, and what he does in his limited free time. We joke around a little bit before/after class and he's always saying he'd get nowhere on the homework without me.

2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhy does a young woman have random chin hair?
I know older women get long dark/gray stray chin hairs, but I'm a 19-year old girl and I've had to pluck several over the past few months. Any other gals my age out there have similar issues or is this really an abnormality?
8 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoSolving for R and C given L?
The problem gives the solution for an LRC system:
Q(t) = e^(-t)*(5cos4t+2sin4t)+8cos(3t)+6sin(3t).
The general form for the equation of and LRC circuit is LQ''+RQ'+(1/C)Q = V and the questions asks, if L = 2 henrys, what is the value of R and C?
I've tried to plug in values based on the homogeneous and particular solutions, but I always get a negative value for R, which is impossible because resistance can't be negative.
Can anyone help me out or suggest a hint for solving?
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoReduce matrices to row echelon form??
I'm starting a linear algebra/differential equations course and my class information page says that a scientific calculator is sufficient and it cautions that before buying a graphing calculator to make sure that "it is capable of evaluating determinants and can reduce matrices to row echelon form." I have my old TI-83 Plus from high school, but I don't know if fits the bill.
Does anyone know if the TI-83 will reduce matrices to row echelon form (and if so, how)?

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoIs it okay to be friends with a TA?
I really like one of my teaching assistants (TAs) from my university. I was a freshman (I'm a girl, if that matters) this year and he was a senior who just graduated. He's got a girlfriend, so I know that romance is not an option. He's a really great guy and I liked getting to know him all year. He was always friendly and willing to talk to me, even after he was no longer my teacher in the fall.
Is it okay for me to e-mail him or Facebook him to see how life's treating him post-graduation, or is it time to let go and forget him?
I forgot to mention that the night of his graduation ceremony I asked if I could take his picture and he consented, so I'm also wondering if I should offer him a the picture and if so, should I e-mail him a digital image or physically mail a print?
2 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoWill girls be jealous if I develop a friendship with their boyfriends?
I'm pursuing an engineering degree and most of my classmates are guys. Many have girlfriends but are always willing to talk to me. Is it possible for us to be just friends working together in difficult courses or will their girlfriends see me as a threat because I'm a girl?
These are great guys and I like working with them and find them attractive, but I'm not interested in a relationship with any of them; I wouldn't try to break up an existing relationship anyway...just wondering what others would think.
As far as I know, their girlfriends aren't going into any engineering, science, or math fields. It seems that the engineering guys are with social science girls (psychology is a popular major with them).

The Johnny Deluxe song "Drommer Jeg" is sung in Danish and Swedish. I love the way it sounds and was wondering if anyone knows where I could find the English translation; I haven't had luck on any of the major search engines.
This isn't for any sort of class; just my personal interest.
