3 AnswersMathematics6 years agoHow to solve the simultaneous equation : X=2y+1 , x=y^2+3y .?
OK so ,
2y+1=y^2+3y
= y^2 +3y-2y-1
= y^2+y-1 , the next step would be to factorise but neither
(Y+1)(y-1) ,or
(Y-1)(y+1) work , they both end up as :
Y^2 -1
HELP me please ;(
4 AnswersMathematics6 years agoHow to solve the simultaneous equation. : y=3x-1 , x^2 + y^2 =1?
I move y=3x-1 over giving me
X^2 + (3x-1)^2 =1 I sort it out so I gets to
10x^2 -6x+1 =1 but then when I move the =1 over to factorise it gets rid of the +1 leaving me with
10x^2 -6x
I m either being dumb or You can t factorise this , help me please ?.
Ps I can do the previous questions ie
Y=2x+3 , x^2 +y^2 =2
