What is the best way to build a blog from scratch?
A vague question I know. I do know what I'm doing, I'm more or less looking for advice while I have the chance. So I'll leave the comments wide open for your opinions. Anyway, here's the background. I custom made a website with a public face and a behind-the-scenes administration side to take care of messages dropped on the site, etc. Well I want to add a blog. I am basing my entire website on ASP.NET using an Access database. I know that's not wise but I do have reasons for going with Access.
So with each post (that could be 10 paragraphs or more), should I save all that data into one record in the database for easy retrieval (what is the size limitation?), or should I stream write it to a text file and mark the text file name into the database?
The concept is rather simple, but coding it is the hard part. Also, is anyone jumping out of their skin yelling at me to get away from Access? I use it for simplicity and the convenience of portability when it comes to the actual database file.
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow to make a DHCP server lease a certain IP to "non recognized nodes"?
I'm honing my skills on a Windows Server 2003 on my home network. Among other things, this server is my home's DHCP server with two scopes. The reason for the second scope is an anti-wardriving measure. I want the first scope 1.1.1.x to only lease IP's based on a reservation list of MAC addresses. I know how to make reservations, but I don't know how to only lease to that list.
Also, I want anything not on the reservation list in the first scope to be leased an IP from my second scope, 200.200.200.x which is setup to forward all traffic to 0.0.0.1 which will just drop all traffic. Hence the anti-wardriving.
Any ideas or informative articles? Any tips or suggestions would be great.

I'm looking for some online tips and lessons to teach me how to play fast runs on the piano. Specifically things like "cocktail runs" using 32nd notes and things like that. Any links would be appreciated.
1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoWhat is causing my USB Wifi adapter to crash my mac?
I have an Intel Macintosh laptop OS X 10.4.8. Recently, I just bought a USB WiFi adapter for it. After installing the proper drivers for it, my screen will shade real dark and a window pops up telling me to restart my computer by doing a hard reset. Any ideas of the cause?
