I'm currently 18 years old, which is the legal age to be considered an adult. But my mom completely thinks otherwise. She believes I'm not ready to take care of myself. And if I break her rules I'll get severely punished, usually through physical violence. She likes to verbally insult me a lot as well. Even if I didn't do anything wrong. She has a tendency to push her anger on others.

Often I do several chores for her each day. As well as take care of these foreign kids she's supposed to babysit instead. She never pays me for it. But if another person was to babysit for her she would give them more than fifty dollars each day. My older brother visits us a lot and he does nothing. He has freedom. If I complain he needs to help around the house too my mom would make an excuse that he doesn't have to because he's a man and not a woman like me.

I'm honestly sick and tired of my mom's ********. She's sexist, selfish, arrogant, and bossy. Everything a mother shouldn't be. If I try to stand up she'll disown me. I'll be homeless if she does. I don't know what to do.

I think taking a shower with someone else is only if you're in relationships... But I distinctively remember a female friend of mine pressuring me to take my clothes off so we can shower together. And we did. Was I taken advantage of?
