  • How do I print to a printer which is connected to a different machine on my wireless network?

I have computer A connected to printer A. Computer A and Computer B are on the same wireless network. I want to be able to print from Computer B to Computer A's printer. The printer is not wireless, but is connected to Computer A (on the network). I am running Windows XP Home Edition. How can I set it up so I can do this?

  • Need help with special kind of Excel sort?

I use Excel 2007 and am very familiar with the sort function. I use it a lot for multi-level searches. But there is one type of sort that I have never figured out how to do.

I have a database which happens to have baseball statistics. I want to sort all the 2Bmen by games played (highest to lowest) so that the 2Bmen end up at the top of the list. THEN, I want JUST the 2Bmen (those for whom games played at 2b > 0) to sort by, say, bartting average (highest to lowest).

    Can anyone tell me:

    (a) is this type of sort possible in Excel 2007, and if yes;

    (b) HOW?!?!?!?

Been wanting to figure this out for years. Appreciate any help.

  • Help with Excel macro buttons?

Excel 2003 had toolbars. The forms toolbar allowed me to put a button on the page, and then associate a macro with the button so that when the button was clicked, the macro would run. Excel 2007 does not appear to have toolbars, nor does it have a true equivalent. Is there a way to create macro-associated buttons in this version?

  • Can't get Windows Media Player to play .AVI video files?

I got a new machine recently, and moved all my media files onto it. All other formats play just fine, but when I try to launch a .AVI file with Windows Media Player, I get a little message at bottom left saying 'codec acquired'. Then it plays the file audio, but it substitutes some visual graphic design for the video. What can I do to get these files to display properly?

  • Statistics question?

A friend had this question at a job interview today, and didn't know how to answer it. I'm not sure either, but hopefully someone here can help:

There is a 40% chance of rain on Saturday and a 40% chance of rain on Sunday. What is the chance of it raining at some point during the weekend?

Please show how it would be solved, and thank you in advance!

  • I've somehow lost Administrator status on my own machine, and need to get it back. How can I do this?

I did not change my password. i DID use a utility to clean my registry, and I believe that was the source of the problem. I tried recently to install a specific program to allow me to watch high speed MLB games via mlb.com, but it tells me I have to be an administrator on this computer in order to do that. Hence my problem.

How can I make myself administrator or 'reclaim' administrator status? I'm not a neanderthal, but am not an IT/computer whiz either, so plain instructions will be MOST appreciated. And I never fail to give out the 10 points for best answer.

    Please help me!!

  • Pretty Woman question?

Edward and Victoria fly to San Francisco to attend an opera. Can anyone tell me which opera they went to? This is not a trivia question -- to me at least -- but really something I'd like to know.

  • Is it necessary to descale an old-fashioned teapot?

I searched the questions already answered and found instructions for descaling an electric kettle which has an element. But I use an old-style teapot, the kind with a handle which you just fill with water, place on the stove and wait for the whistle. Is it necessary to descale a teapot like that (which has no element)? If so, how?

  • Best affordable British Virgin Islands destination and most affordable way to get there from Miami?

The title says it all. Probably mid to late April departure, 4 or 5 days. What are the most affordable ways to get there, and which islands are the most attractive/fun? One couple, no kids.

  • Communication between AOL IM and Reuters Messenger?

I use AOL IM, and many of my friends use Reuters Messenger while at work. By searching the internet, I'm led to believe these two applications can communicate with each other. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Google search tells me it's possible, but I can't find instructions as to how.

  • Bought a Lexmark X4580 w/PC. My CD-ROM doesnt work. How can I get my PC to work with the printer?

The printer is hooked up to a wireless network. The other user has a working CD-ROM and installed the software and drivers which came with the printer. I can't do this, since I have no working CD-ROM. Is there another way to get the software, or another way to get my PC to 'see' the printer on the wireless network?
