  • Which is easiest to breed?

    Emporer Tetra (group of 12)

    Zebra Danio (group of 12)

    OR

    Threadfin Rainbow (group of 12)?

If you have any tips on breeding the one you think is easiest, plese include it.

There will also be 1 pair of electric blue rams in the tank- no plecos, shrimp, snails etc.

  • How can I hide fruits and vegetables in my family's cooked dishes?

My husband and sons have incredibly limited diets. I need a way to get them more nutrition. My sons (all five) play sports and eat constantly. Yes, they're active, yes, they're growing, but I know that if they ate better, they wouldn't have to eat so often. My husband, is also very active, but he detests every fruit or vegetable that I set in front of him if it isn't lettuce or apples. What can I do? Don't say vitamins, I want it to be an entire lifestyle change.

  • Does anyone have Bag Buddies I can buy?

I have a 5" and a 6" red hook piranha to ship this coming Wednesday, and I can't find these anywhere! Does anyone have some? I can pay!

Please leave your email for me in your answers. Who would've thought working in the industry for 30+ years I would have never had to buy or find these?

  • Easiest to breed dwarf cichlid?

I have been in the fish industry for more than 50 years, but have only bred kribnesis, rams, dwarf yellow labs, and "Moliwe" cichlids (a rarity from Cameroon, not to be confused with Malawi)

What do you think is easiest? People are asking for dwarf chcilids left and right, and we can't seem to keep enough of anything in stock, and it would be a heck ofa lot cheaper for us to breed them rather than order.

    Thanks in advance

  • Why do people buy fish without a clue?

Being in the fish industry 50+ years I have had alot of dumb questions to answer.

There is always something that puzzles me.

Why can't people seem to do a google search on the type of fish they want and see what it needs first? There are customers on a daily basis who come in with their dead fish asking for new ones. We say "No, we can educate you on the fish and its care if you like. But we won't exchange it until you've done more research."

Does anyone else do this? Does this frustrate you too?

  • Best food for my Moliwe Cichlids?

Keeping many a cichlid before, these aren't anything new. But with such a rare species on my hands I want to be absolutely sure that I am feeding them exactly what they need.

I completely understand if I don't get any answers, these fish are new to the trade and the science altogether.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Is it okay to keep just 2 discus?

2 discus and 1 rosaline shark? I know both are best kept in 5, but what will happen if I keep them like that in my 55 gallon with 90 galllons of filtration total.

    7 AnswersFish9 years ago
  • Another planted 55 gallon setup. What to put in?

I want a variety of sizes and will definitely have 5 rosaline sharks.

I would like zebra otos, galaxy rasboras, marbled headstanders, and a pair of cockatoo apistos, but what would you put in?

  • Where can I get a peacock eel? Locally or Online.?

I'm looking for a peacock eel for my personal fishtank in the living room of my home. I sued to have several, and even had them lay eggs and I raised some really nice babies from them.

I would like to get another, but I can't seem to find one anywhere!

I'm looking for somewhere local, or somewhere that I can order online and have it shipped to me. My area code is 48359. And for online orders, I would like him/herto come from somewhere in the US or Canada.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Will this combination work out well in my 55g?

    6 rummynose tetras

    6 cochu blue tetras

    5 black harlequin rasboras

    5 regular harlequin rasboras

    4 peacock gudgeons

1 banjo catfish to clean up after everyone

Will this work in my 55 gallon planted? There aren't any fish in there yet except the gudgeons and catfish. The tetras and rasboras are really low wasting, so I don't think that the number will be a problem. Thoughts? Suggestions? This will be a display tank in my exotic petstore.

  • In my 55 gallon planted tank...?

2 baby whales (yes, I have prior experience)

    6 rummy nose tetras

    1 (Can I have 2?) Banjo Catfish

4 Leopard Danios (Can I have these with my baby whales?)

I've only ever had baby whales in a species tank, but we are doing a 55 gallon planted tank for the front display in the freshwater section of my exotic pet store, and I would love to showcase them. Last month we did this with elephant noses and we sold out of all we had! The month prior we did a showcase with baby ghost knife fish of all different varieties and sold ever single one of them! I would love to do this with our baby whales too, as they often go unnoticed in their species tank because of their basic color.

  • Can I keep these in a 55 gal planted freshwater tank?

Banjo Catfish (thinking 2 or 3)

Baby Whale (just 1, maybe 2 if I can)

    Leopard Danios (2+)

    Rummynose Tetras (I'm thinking 6)

    1 AnswerFish9 years ago
  • What about these for my planted 55 gallon?

    6 Rummynose tetras max 2"

6 Dwarf Indian Puffers max 1"

    2 Zebra Danios max 2"

    1 Gold Gourami max 6"

    1 Blue Gourami max 6"

    1 White Gourami max 6"

I could also put them into the 120 gallon planted tank, but only if there isn't enough room.

  • Can I keep bumble bee gobies, indian dwarf puffers, small angel fish, and a tiny bumble bee catfish in my 120?

    12 bumble bee gobies

    12 indian dwarf puffers

    2 or 4 small angelfish

    1 tiny bumble bee catfish

And maybe a small ruby scat?

I have a wonderful planted 120 gallon tank with a sand substrate and all kinds of slate, terra cotta pots, and lots and lots of infusoria and brine.

I am set on the gobies and dwarf indian puffers, but I am open to suggestions if the angels, scat, and catfish won't work. I would like to keep my colors black and yellow.

  • If I breed my white face female sugar glider with my male standard gray, will her genes be dominant?

Daisy is around the same age as Kosar, and I have bred sugar gliders before- but only pure: cremenos, standard gray, black beauty, leucistic, and white faced. I haven't ever cross bred, so I have no idea what I'm looking at here gene-wise. Will her white face be dominant?
