  • What kind of egg could this be?

My kids found an egg out in the yard, it is brown, about the size of a chicken egg and feels really soft, almost like velvet. Anyone have a clue what kind of egg this is?

  • What to do about heartburn?

I swear, it starts earlier and is harder to control everytime. Seriously, only six weeks preggo with my third and my heartburn is already so bad that I am up at 3 in the morning. Anyone have any tips besides meds, only have tums at home and am not headed to the store, so tired I would probably crash my car.

  • Just curiosity, How soon did you have to pee constantly?

Here I am pregnant with my third baby, not quite five weeks and I already go to the bathroom twice an hour. Seems sooner than with my other two, so I was just curious how soon the constant need to pee hit you?

  • I need baby name help?

I need ideas for girls and boys. Either need to start with a vowel and boys middle names with A and girls middle names with R. Silly, I know, but that is how my other kids are.

I've thought of Ian Alexander and Isabel Ruth

  • Swollen uncircumicised penis?

My 9 month old son has a super swollen penis, almost twice its normal size. When we went to the ER they said it wasn't serious as he wasn't running a fever, but they want him to see his pediatrician tomorrow becuase they couldn't retract the foreskin. I am calling first thing in the morning for an appointment, but I was just curious if anyone had any idea what could be going on and why the concern for the inability to retract the foreskin. I though that the foreskin wouldn't retract for at least a couple of years. They also told me I should have been retracting it and cleaning underneath it all along, which I find odd, so moms with uncirced babies, how did you care for your son's penis and did they ever have any swelling problems?

  • getting 2.5 year old to bed?

My daughter is 2.5 years old and she has just recently started fighting sleep. We have a bedtime routine, bath, books, milk, prayers, but recently she has started wandering out of her room constantly. I have tried cuddling her, but everytime she starts to fall asleep, she jerks herself awake and starts messing with something to keep herself awake. Any suggestions?

  • How long do Alzheimer's patients actually live after a broken hip?

I know 6 months is the life expectancy of an Alzheimer's patient that is unable to follow physical therapy regimen after a broken hip, but I just wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with this.

My grandmother is institutionalized with severe Alzheimer's disease. She is in the late stages of the disease and cannot walk without a person on each side of her, so when she fell and broke her hip, the family decided that surgery to replace it would not be beneficial to her and would put her at increased risk of infection as she would still not be able to get out of bed. The doctors recommended putting her on hospice so that she could get palliative care and there would be better control of her pain, which has happened.

I guess my question is, if this happened to a relative or someone you know, how long did they live after the break? This sounds like a crude question, but I am looking at what to realistically expect. In my mind, I know that passing on may be the best thing for her, but in my heart, she is my grandmother and I feel I need to be prepared.
