Just-A-Girl
Im off to college but he's FINALLY interested, what do I do?
I started falling for this guy my sophomore year. He's kind of bad news. Not dangerous or anything but he went to juvy and then lived in an institution so he was older than everyone else in his grade and everyone kind of thinks lowly of him even though he's the sweetest guy. Now I graduated, and he's 20 and working on a farm instead of doing anything with his life (I'm not judging or anything, he's just very intelligent and could do a lot with his life if he wanted too). So now its been 2.5 years of on and off flirting. He liked someone else then I did and blah blah blah. But now things are starting to change. I invited him to this party I had a few weeks ago and I got really drunk but he didn't. I wanted to make a move so badly that night, but I'm not sure if I really wanted to or I was just drunk and wanted to make out with someone. Anyways, he kept snuggling with me but that's it. I ended up getting sick, and he took care of me. We slept next to each other, but nothing happened. He's really shy when it comes to girls so I don't know what he wants or if he even wants anything. I'm one of the only girls he consistently talk to and trusts, but its never seemed like he had feelings for me before now. I think our mutual friend is trying to set up a weird double date for us this week. And I don't know how I feel about it. I've had feelings for him for two and a half years, but now I'm off to college and its really not a good time. Ill only be a half an hour away, but I dont know what to do.
ANY advice or comments would be greatly appreciated
1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoWhat is my next step? ...Advice please?
Before I even BEGIN I'm just gonna say... I KNOW this is long. You don't have to say that. If its too long for you, don't read it. It's that easy.
But for those of you nice enough to read and give me your thoughts... Thanks (:
I’ve asked several questions about this guy, but things are getting… more complicated now?
I don’t know. I just need help. So I liked him for a while, we went on this date (that wasn’t really a date, but ended up pretty much being one). Then a week later he asked this other girl out and they dated for two months. They had a ridiculously stupid relationship… She was an awkward duckling who never wanted to go out, never let him kiss her, and couldn’t even function in a relationship. She even tried to get her friend to plan a date for them. Because she was too chickenshit to.
Anyways, all through their relationship he flirted with me. He gave me more attention than he gave her at times, even, and I always felt like he still kinda liked me. So about a week and a half ago, he and his girlfriend (if you could even call her that) broke up. He seemed down in the dumps that day and I didn’t know what was going on so I asked him if he would want to get a coffee with me and a couple of other kids after school to cheer him up. He did, and that’s when he told me his girlfriend” dumped him. I hugged him, bought him a doughnut and a coffee and we chatted like normal. The next day I texted him and asked him what actually happened with him and the girl, and he went on this rant several texts long about how he was disappointed. And how he thinks she never really cared. And how unfair it was. I felt really bad for him and tried to console him and make him feel better. He thanked me for caring. My grandma had recently been in the hospital so he asked how she was doing, checking up on me periodically throughout the next 36 hours or so.
Then, as last week progressed, I became less and less confident that he liked me.
At the beginning of the week he would chat with me. Hug me constantly. Come to lunch with me and a few friends during breaks. Would turn up the radio in my car for all of the songs he knew both of us liked. (Stupid, I know, but so cute you have no idea).
Then I gradually felt like he was inching away. Which I totally understand, I mean the guy was fresh out of a breakup… but I don’t know what to do now. A bunch of friends and I were supposed to go to his house last Wednesday night, but I wasn’t able to make it and when I texted him saying like “Hey, shame I couldn’t come tonight, I really wanted to hang out with you. Rain check?” He never replied… sooo… I don’t even know what to think. And I don’t even know what to DO.
My friends all think we’d be perfect together and a couple of HIS friends have said the same to me. And I TOTALLY understand that he might still be upset about his breakup, but honestly you can’t call what they had a relationship… at all. I just don’t know what my next move should be. Or how I should approach this.
Advice Please? Thanks.
9 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoWe're two peas in a pod...but his girlfriend...?
So I used to like this guy... (cliche I know).
We flirted for a while. He would do things for me. Find excuses to touch me, help me with stuff, etc. and when I would have to leave he would go "Awwh... noo!" or something. We went on one date (it wasn't officially a date, but it was pretty much a date) that I thought went well. We went to go see a funny play and he let me rest my head on his shoulder. On the car ride home he told me all of this really personal stuff about his dark past and said he had a good time and that we should do it again sometime.
I told his best friend I liked him. His best friend told me that he liked someone else. Him and his current girlfriend started dating like two weeks later.
My friends and I encouraged him to ask her out, because I knew he liked her and I was trying to get over him. Him and his girlfriend have been dating for like two months. We've remained friends, but we laugh and talk pretty frequently.
I got over him, but I couldn't seem to shake the feeling that he was still flirting with me. I catch him staring at me all of the time, and he treats me better than he does his own girlfriend.
For example, yesterday he finally got his license (He's eighteen and never got the chance to take the exam). He's been saying he was gonna go take his exam at the DMV for months now, and its been kind of a running joke in our group of friends because he always needs a ride somewhere. I had a class last period with him and his girlfriend, and I arrived right after he did. He tossed his wallet at me and was like LOOOK! and I laughed and said congrats and walked towards him to hand him back his wallet and went in to high five him and he went and hugged me. When his girlfriend walked in a few minutes later he did the same toss thing, but there was no excitement between them, all she said was "Nice" and tossed it back. No celebration. No smiles. Nothing. I got both. But as we left the class they seemed normal (well, as normal as they ever are, they're both pretty awkward socially)... he kissed the side of her head before she left, etc.
Today, we were laughing about something and like having a joking argument and he was like, "Jeez Julie I'm not talking to you anymore," and I said, "Ha! We'll see how long that lasts," He was all giggly and said something like, "You would probably last longer than I would."
What the hell does that mean? Hahaha.
Sometimes he can't seem to keep his hands off of me. Not so much "sexually" or anything, but he constantly had his hands on my shoulders and whenever I walked by he would ask for a hug. When we stand near each other he always puts his arms around my shoulders. I walked up to him and a couple of other friends and they were sitting on the floor and he liked grabbed my hand and held it during the whole conversation...I thought he was high-fiving me at first. Pretty much he kept finding excuses to touch me. Like... DEFINITELY flirting.
This guy and I get along really really well. We joke around and giggle and occasionally flirt and we have a lot in common. Its not like we didn't have anything in common on the date. I honestly have no clue what happened there. And its not like he's a player either. We're all kind of nerdy and socially awkward. His girlfriend is the smart type. Taking all AP classes and doesn't do anything social. Him and I are both in the school play. He works on the weekly news report for our school. So its not like he's some kind of man whore and she's easy. Cause that's not the case.
The thing is, a couple months ago after we went on that weird date-like thing, things totally fizzled out between us. We stayed acquaintances, but about two weeks later he asked his current girlfriend out. So I honestly don't know WHAT to make of this situation. Cause he definitely still flirts with me pretty frequently, and after the events of the past couple days... I'm confused. I WILL NOT tell him I might still have feelings for him. I'm not going to be that girl. No thank you. So...no. Help me?
12 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoThis dude... he gets me. But I'm confused?
I used to like this guy. We flirted for a while and went on this sort-of date, but he kinda lead me on and started dating this other girl.
I kind of think he still has feelings for me. Even though we never dated or anything.
For example, today he finally got his license (He's eighteen and never got the chance to take driver's ed or anything). He's been saying he was gonna go take his exam at the DMV for months now, and its been kind of a running joke in our group of friends. I had a class last period today with him and his girlfriend, and I arrived right after he did. What do you make of this? Any opinions would be GREATLY appreciated.
17 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoDo you think this guy digs me...? I'll try to answer yours in return (:?
So I have now asked SEVERAL questions about this guy, and this is starting to get ridiculous.
He's a senior, 18, funny, on the school's news team, involved in theater productions, hysterically funny, not concerned with appearances. We both have senses of humor. I'm the only one who ever really gets his jokes, especially the '80s and '90s references... (Randomly blurting out things like "She blinded me with Science" will cause only me to giggle). He stares at me.. a lot. Every time we're even in the same hallway I can look around and almost definitely find his eyes on me. We have several classes together and we pretty much awkwardly lock eyes every day. He finds a lot of reasons to talk to me sometimes... like when there's four of us in the same class standing in a group he'll specifically ask me what the homework was, and then go "sorry guys, I totally forgot you are in that class too" all nervously. Every time we pass each other in hallways or anything he does this awkward "smile and nod" thing that's so hard to describe but kind of really funny. He will always go for the "fist bump" for the most random things. He forgot his textbook for a class and move his desk closer to mine to look on instead of moving closer to his best friend on the other side. He can be a bit crude... Sometimes his funny just gets too...weird and I find myself shaking my head and saying to myself "Ew. Too far, Ben" or, "What the hell am I thinking?" I don't know...
One day I was talking to him and this sophomore that I really don't know in the hallway, and the sophomore tried to put his arm around me, to which I went, "Uhmmm, could you...not do that?" and Matt was like, "Yeah she doesn't like to be touched (which isn't necessarily true" So I replied,"Nah, I just don't even know this kid, or even like him haha, therefore..." To which the guy I like replied, "See, Julia knows me I could give her a hug,"... and then he gave me a hug and I said see, Ben and I are cool... So was he just illustrating a point or was he wanting to hug me? Gahh... I don't know. We've hugged before so it's not like it was a first...
Yesterday we had this fundraiser for the theater department (it was a craft fair) and I spent the whole day with him. He followed me around most of the morning while we unloaded people's cars and then when I had to run out to get more supplies, he didn't even give me the chance to ask if anyone would want to come with me before he offered himself up and hopped in my car. We spent a half an hour talking so easily and making jokes and it was really nice 9: Then he had to go help our director for part of the day and left. He came back ranting on to me and the girl I was running the ticket booth with saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, not because you never know what you're gonna get, because all of the chocolates are separated so if you want to be with one of the chocolates you cant. You can't talk to them all day but you want to.." And I can't help but think it was about me...?
I don't know, what do you think? A few of my friends have made comments about us liking each other, but a couple of them doubt it... am I misreading the signs? Opinions please?
Thank you for reading all of this, if you did. I appreciate it [:
44 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agoShould I ask him? ...I'll answer yours in return!?
So I asked a question about this guy last week, and here's ...part two, I guess?
I'm pretty confident that there's a ...thing between us. He's 18 I'm 16. We get along pretty well and have similar interests And there's some... very crappy and inept flirting between us (from both sides).
If you wanna know more about our "relationship" here's some more.... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjKKA...
Anyways this guy... I don't know. I just can't seem to get my mind off of him. As weird and quirky as he is I can't seem to shake this... thing. So I'm thinkin...a college about an hour upstate from my town is putting on The Rocky Horror Picture Show... which I know this guy likes (we've talked about it on several occasions... I'm not stalking him or anything) and I know he would love to go... We would have such a fun time, honestly.
But the thing is... Its an hour away, I would drive, and it would end up being like a four hour date AT LEAST. Aaaand the show's at midnight. So I'm thinking to just get a bunch of friends to go, and invite him especially. I just don't think I'm prepared to spend like...four-five hours with him ALONE yet. We're not THAT close of friends and have RARELY hung out outside of school, nevermind alone. I feel like I would ruin things....veeerry quickly with four hours to screw up.
SO what do you think? Should I make it a group thing and invite him? ...that's what I'm leaning towards, I think.
5 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agoWhat do you think of this guy...?
So. There's this guy... and I think I may like him.
But here's the thing... he's 18 (two years older than me), a little spastic sometimes, and my friends think he's gross.
Oh, and the whole not-sure-if-he-even-thinks-of-me-in-that-way thing. But I will present you guys with the facts and hopefully you wonderful people will supply me with some answers.
It all started a couple months ago when he and I were in the schools production of A Midsummer Night's Dream together... are parts being in the same group that are always onstage together, we spent quite a bit of time together. I kinda just thought of him as that funny, quirky, friend... Until one of my best friends was all, "Hey, you know who would make a good couple? You and 'Ben'"....of course my first reaction was "HA! Ben? Never!" But then I started to realize... I kinda had feelings for him. Most of my friends think he's gross. He's kind of a clown, so they all like him enough to laugh at his jokes or be friendly, but I would suffer ENDLESS amounts of taunting and jokes if we were to ever date... Not that I would let this stop me, it's just that I would like it if hanging out with my "would be" boyfriends and friends at the same time wouldn't be impossible or even just really awkward.
So here's a breakdown...
He's a senior, 18, funny, on the school's news team, involved in theater productions, obsessed with Pink Floyd, a little spastic and loud, hysterically funny, not concerned with appearances, a little awkward and not very popular or anything (my school doesn't even really have "popular" people though, and popularity is definitely NOT something that is important to me)
I'm a junior, 16, sarcastic, hardworking, artsy and involved in theater, hate Pink Floyd, loud-but far from spastic, emotional, and kind of... aggressive? hahaha. (I find it hard to describe myself, but there's a shot at it...)
We both have similar tastes in music and similar senses of humor. I'm the only one who ever really gets his '80s and '90s jokes... (Randomly blurting out things like "She blinded me with Science" will cause only me to giggle). We make fun of things each other likes... I hate Pink Floyd and poke fun at it, he calls Glee stupid (which riles me up... I'm a total Gleek).
He stares at me.. a lot. Every time we're even in the same hallway I can look around and almost definitely find his eyes on me. But that's kind of his shtick... he stares a lot. He takes pride in being "the weird kid" ... don't ask. He will always go for the "fist bump" for the most random things and will forget his textbook for a class and move his desk closer to mine to look on instead of his best friend on the other side.
Yet other times he's clueless... He doesn't seem focused when I strike up a conversation or seems to have little interest. Also, a few of his friends definitely don't like me. And there's one particularly that I REALLY don't like (he practically groped my best friends in like.. the 5th grade and his creepiness level has not decreased.) I don't know. He can be a bit crude... Sometimes his funny just gets too...weird and I find myself shaking my head and saying to myself "Ew. Too far, Ben" or, "What the hell am I thinking?" I don't know. Sometimes I just really... doubt my "crush"...
So what do you think?
Does he have feelings for me? Should I pursue this? Am I being an idiot?
Any feedback whatsoever would be kickass. Thanks [:

3 AnswersHomework Help10 years agoCan you figure out what musical this is?
My director refuses to announce what musical we are doing next year at my high school, yet he seems to enjoy torturing us with hints.
Anyone know what musical has a french horn and string section in the orchestra, is considered an "opera" of sorts, and would be pretty well known by high school students?
He said that we would know the musical, and that it definitely is NOT Les Mis (...my first guess). Any thoughts?
4 AnswersTheater & Acting1 decade agoConversation topic for my writing class?
For my writing class, we have to present a video, picture, poem, short story, etc. that evokes thought and starts a debate. It can't be too heated or controversial to the point where it's not "school appropriate", but it definitely has to rile some people up.
I'm struggling to come up with a topic that I actually care about. I don't want to do any kind of generic, topic. Every high school student is going to do censorship, or why girls are judged for their appearances, and stupid crap like that, but I CANNOT figure out what to do!
Will it help if I add some personal details?
Any ideas?...Thanks [:
3 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoSixteen and never been kissed. Freak, right?
Yup. You read that right.
I'm sixteen years old and have never gotten more than a kiss on the cheek.
And I'm about to get shallow about it. Cause honestly? I think the real reason it hasn't happened is that people can't look past looks. And the fact that I'm not exactly a size 2.... at all.
Am I really that terrible? Give me your honest opinion...
I've had some great dates with guys and had real chemistry but it just... never escalates. What's wrong with me? I'm the only person I know (my age, even some younger) who has not been kissed. I feel like such a social leper...like I'm missing out. Help?
8 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow to get this guy out of my head?
I had a thing with this guy MONTHS ago and I STILL can't get him out of my head.
We barely talk anymore. There's no hard feelings between us, or even any feelings at all, really. He walks by and my eyes watch him like a hawk. I see him laughing and I'm jealous. He just pops into my head constantly even when he's not around.
I don't know what to do. I DEFINITELY don't have feelings for him still and I NEED a distraction SEVERELY. Help! How do I get him out of my head?
11 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoTV suggestions? On Dexter withdrawal...?
Okay, I need more TV to watch! I like comedies, or dark sarcastic dramas like Dexter (which I am having MAJOR withdrawal from). Some suggestions?
If it helps, I've watched and liked: Friends, How I Met Your Mother, That 70's Show, Scrubs, Dexter, Glee, Heroes, Modern Family, the Big Bang Theory, Lost, Skins (UK), Grey's Anatomy, and MUCH more...

9 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoIs "Grace Kelly" by Mika an original song or a cover?
I got in a heated debate about this with my stepdad.
I know the song has melodies from the opera song Largo al factotum in it, but my stepdad is CONVINCED its a cover of a song from the 70s or something, I other on the other hand, can only find evidence of Mika writing it on the internet.
So is it a cover, or is it a Mika orginal?
2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoAny advice for a teenager on how to meet REAL and nice guys?!?
I'm 16, a sophomore in high school, and have never had a r e a l boyfriend. (I've been on dates and stuff but never really been in a relationship, and it always ends the same way...) The guys that go to my school are all either not my type or extremely rude and idiotic, and I really want to meet new guys. I've really only met guys outside of my school through theater groups and chorus competitions (nerdy, I know...) and those guys are nice, but not really my type, either.
So I was just wondering how some of you teenagers meet guys? hahaha I know it sounds strange, but I just really want to get out there!
If it helps, similar interests are important to me (gives you something to talk about...) and I love the Beatles, and bands like Breathe Carolina, the Maine, and Woe, Is Me. I want to go to art school when I graduate high school. My friends and family mean the world to me, and I definitely think that laughing makes the world a better place. So a good sense of humor is very very very important to me.
any advice would be GREATLY appreciated :]
9 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agothoughts on this conversation? its a little long but i'd really appreciate some feedback! [:?
ive liked this guy for like ..two months. and about a week and a half ago a girl on my bus asked if we were a couple.(i actually asked a question about it on here... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ano02... and i really wanted to tell him about it, so i took a chance and did!
so since you wonderful people on here gave me great advice last time, i thought id give it a whack again.
soooo i told him about that. i said something like "so you know so and so? she thought you and i were like...together" in conversation. and his response was "hahah we totally are" and i said "haha ikr?" (we were both obviously kidding) and then he didnt respond for FIVE HOURS. he said "that would be weird" and i played it off like i wasnt WAITING for that text and was all "wait what would be weird" and this is how the convo went from there, basically.
him: us dating haha i cant even imagine it
me: ohh haha way to respond hours later! and whyy?
him: haha idk..can u?
me: maybe..idk! haha.
him: haha really? i cant..haha wer friends
me: well duh..
him: how can u even imagine that its weird hahaha

him: haha ok. so who do you like? (< he asks me that all of the time. and i never tell him that i like him)
me: no one in particular right now. haha why??
him: just wonderin. i like two girls right now. im over sophie (the girl he liked for like two years who is now dating someone else). they dont go to our school, so ill have fun with them both if you know what i mean (IDOUBTTHAT, btw. its not like austin is some kind of stud or anything)
me: haha that makes you a slut austin :P you just want to have a reputation!
him: not to be cocky, but most people know who i am.
me: i didnt before american studies! (which is a lie, cause i did. but hey, i needed to knock him down a peg)
him: yeah ok, ALMOST everyone. but i know a bunch of people! (here he lists off places that he knows people, but im not showing you that cause then you’d know where I live xD)
me; mmkay i get it hahaha. no need to try to impress me :P

him: yeah haha thats true
me: definitely. do me a favor? keep the jake thing to yourself?? i rather people didnt know about that :/ hahaha (LIE. REAAALLLY i just didnt want to have him find out that jake and i dated when we were like 14 and he only kissed me on the cheek. mylifesafail).
him: hahaha ok :-D
me: thaaaaaaank you :)
THEN HE JUST STOPPED TEXTING.
So what do you make of this? i know he doesnt like me. he pretty much says "no never, were friends"
but any advice? thoughts? did i make any mistakes? id appreciate any feedback :]
if it helps, were both 16 and met this year in a classs. we instantly became really close. it sounds like he's being a douche in a lot of this, but he's not. that's his sens of humor. and yes. im 16 and havent reaaallly been kissed. ive technically had two boyfriends, but i dont count them.
oh and i changed the names in this...
thanx for your help :]
14 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoshould i tell the guy im crushing on that someone thought we were a couple?
help por favor ? [:
ive asked a question about this guy before, ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgBfW... ) and ive been crushing on him for a good month or so. i thought he may have liked me, but he's sending me WICKED mixed signals. recently, a girl on my bus who hates me (and used to be my best friend until a huge falling out four years ago) asked me if him and i were going out. i kinda want to tell him! i wanna see what his reaction would be! but i honestly dont want to make things awkward... he's already a kinda quiet guy, and i dont wanna lose him as a friend if things dont pan out between us. we flirt a lot, so i could see why she thought that, but i dont know! hell, i dont even think he LIKES me. we kinda just flirt cause its fun, i guess :]
so what do you think i should do? should i tell him about it? i would love some feedback!
26 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agowhat's a cute way to give a guy my number? (or does that seem too desperate)?
i really like this guy.
ive been acquaintances with this guy for like, months, but we have gotten a lot closer in the past few weeks. he's only in my honors american studies class, but when i see him in the halls or in the caf he'll wave and say hi. ill smile back. in class, he sits next to the person in front of me, but he's always turning around. he talks about the class or something he likes. he's kinda quiet, but when you get on a topic he's excited about, he's totally outgoing. he's nice, and he makes jokes, but he'll also make fun of me a little bit. ill tease back, and i try to flirt, but im REALLY bad at it, haha. the other day i was typing on my laptop in class and he kept turning around and trying to shut it on my fingers, and i would grin and put it back up. it went on for a while. i havent hugged him or anything yet... we talk back and forth on facebook once and a while, but i dont have his phone number.
do you think he likes me? should i give him my number?
oh, and ways to flirt back or a cute way to give him my phone number??
